Dejected, Gabe followed Katelyn back toward her room. She didn’t seem angry, just kind of numb. Nora could relate.
And now she had a problem.
Alex really needed to remember. Because fine. He loved her. He sort of had some physical memory of her. But Nora couldn’t tell him what happened until he asked.
Because she waited for him for fifty years to come back to her. Sure, she pushed him a bit, but in some ways, he wasn’t fully returned just yet. Because if he loved her now, he loved her then.
And that was the frustrating part. What would trigger it? He’d never fallen out of love with her. Clearly.
Sigh…
He asked about remaking old memories or starting fresh. She didn’t want to go back to those wigs, but if it would help? Maybe…
