New Life

"Finally!" said the fair lady I don't recognize, with a sad smile. I woke up, groggy, from the sun shining through my window. What was that about?! The dream felt eerily meaningful, but I have no clue what it means! Who's that lady? Do I know her? Have I seen her before? I decided not to give it a second thought, and went about my usual day. Made my coffee, got dressed and ready for work. Took a bagel on my way out, for breakfast. As usual, the street was quiet. Just the sound of the light breeze and the rustling trees with the birds chirping their cheerful daily morning songs (little do they know, maybe it's not that cheerful after all!). As I was walking, I suddenly stopped in my tracks, not realizing what had happened. When finally, I recalled a piercing scream coming from a nearby street. Urging my heavy legs to move, I ran to that place where I looked up to where the crowd stared. And there, I saw her. The fair lady from my dream, hanging from a balcony. Lifeless! What is that about?! Here I decided. I am meant to look behind the case. Here, my work begins.
