Medrielle stood up when she heard the boarding call for her flight home. She had been living in Euroland since she was six years old.
Her parents, Jorge and Ana Fuerza, had dropped her off for school and said they'd be back soon for a visit. Her father, even though he was the Alpha of his own pack, had insisted Medrielle study and train abroad.
Just two weeks after her arrival at Red Moon pack, she was informed that both her parents had died in a plane crash.
Having no other family to return to, she stayed in Euroland. It was where her father wanted her to study and train, so she remained even when her heart told her to go back home.
Medrielle felt strange and excited at the same time. She was finally going home. Her stomach was doing cart wheels. She was sad to leave her friends and others, who felt like her family behind after sixteen years.
She picked up her suitcase, strapped her backpack on, and headed to the boarding line.
There didn't appear to be too many passengers on this flight, and she was happy about that. She found her seat and flopped down on it after removing her backpack and storing it and her smaller carry-on suitcase in the above storage compartment copying the other passengers.
She'd only been on an airplane once in her life, when her parents brought her to Euroland; she was only 6 years old, so she didn't even recall the experience. She just assumed it would be like a ride at the fair, and they never scared her much, so she told herself she wasn't the least bit nervous.
After a few minutes, she looked around to see the plane was only half full. The two seats next to her were empty, and that made her ecstatic. There wouldn't be anyone to make small talk with, and she was free to spread out. It was a long flight home to her destination, back to her pack, back to the land she loved and felt a connection with.
That's why she assumed she had never broken her bond with it or joined the Red Moon pack where she lived these past years. Red Moon was a great pack, run by a very good Alpha and Luna who treated her like family, but she could never bring herself to call it home.
Alpha Garrett Wence was kind, smart, and took her under his wing when he became Alpha years back. He even took an interest in her training when she was fifteen, as she had proven to be extremely strong and agile for her age. She also picked up on the techniques during training faster than her peers, so Alpha Garrett assigned his Beta Rick to train her, and after only two years, Alpha Garrett started training her himself.
When Medrielle turned eighteen, Alpha Garrett made her one of his warriors. She went on missions and was in many battles where she proved to be one of the best warriors in the pack. She was even in charge of her own team.
At twenty-two, she was extremely proud to be in line for the next trainer position, which would make her ranking a Delta within the Red Moon pack. No female had ever achieved that rank. She worked very hard but knew her being full, Alpha blood also had a lot to do with it.
Full Alpha blood meant both her parents were Alphas. Alphas are the leaders of the pack. Next are the Beta, Delta, Warriors and different positions for them like Captains, Leutenants and so on. Then, the Omegas.
Omegas are seen differently in each pack. Her father's and Alpha Garretts packs allowed everyone to train and pursue positions within the pack that they wanted, and everybody earned wages.
Other packs choose to treat Omegas like slaves and they work for a roof, food, and clothing, nothing more. They aren't even allowed to own property or start a business.
Medrielle thought this was unjust and hated those types of packs. They were the worst of the worst.
The fact that Medrielle was an alpha meant her wolf was bigger, faster, stronger, and smarter than all the others except for Alpha Garrett and Beta Rick.
Although she had recently won a match against Beta Rick, she was disappointed she didn't have the chance to spar with Alpha Garrett again before she left.
Alpha Garrett pushed her hard. He saw her potential and knew she was of full-blooded Alpha lineage, so he never ever went easy on her. In fact, training with him just got harder and harder every day.
He reminded her a lot of her father, not his looks but his demeanor. Perhaps it's just the fact that they were both Alpha's. Whatever it was, she was very grateful to him and Luna Renea for being there for her and would miss them so much.
She was especially grateful for all her training and fighting skills. She had to promise Luna Renea she would call at least once a week and fill her in on her new life.
Alpha Garrett and Luna Renea were both with her the first time she shifted into her wolf on her eighteenth birthday.
All werewolves gain their wolves when they turn eighteen. Being half a wolf meant that you shared your brain and body with your wolf counterpart. The human part is in charge at all times and can allow, from time to time, for their wolf to take over while in wolf form but if the human wants control back, their wolf has to relinquish it.
There are also times when your wolf will get angry or excited and try to take control from their human and the human has to struggle to push their wolf back down to the corner of their mind where they live until their human shifts and gives them control.
The process the first time to shift into your wolf can take hours. Your body has to learn how to shift by allowing all your bones to break and realign into your wolf. It is extremely painful, and your body becomes very hot and fatigued. If it takes too long or the human isn't strong enough, they can die.
Alpha Garrett and Luna Renea helped her through the pain. They coached her on how to relax and let her wolf do most of the work. They were shocked when her wolf emerged after just a few minutes.
Her wolf, Reyna, was very large, as big as Alpha Garrett's wolf. Reyna's fur was silver and so shiny it looked like it was covered in shards of a broken mirror like the ball that hung at a disco club. The color covered her entire body except for her paws, which were bright white and made it look like she was wearing socks. She also had a white diamond on her forehead, and her eyes were a deep aquamarine color that reminded you of the clearest ocean waters.
Alpha Garrett and Luna had never seen anything like her. They were nervous that someone might try to harm Medrielle or capture her wolf if they saw how different she was.
Alpha Garrett has been trying to research her wolf but hasn't come up with much. They decided it would be best for Medrielle not to show her wolf until they could get some answers.
When Medrielle wanted to shift, she had to let Alpha Garrett know. He and Luna would go with her once he cleared an area of all pack members. They would let their wolves out together. They were very careful to make sure nobody saw Reyna.
