Cade’s stomach rolled at the description he read. He knew Damon Street was bad news, but reading report after report that Cade was sure were tied to Damon drove home just how psychotic the man truly was.
Twelve years in the Army forced Cade into situations beyond normal comprehension. He saw people sacrifice their own children and families in order to protect their country. He saw kids barely bigger than the g*n they held shooting as tears streamed down their faces. He saw evil and horror and pain that would never leave his memory. But as horrible as it was, all of it was in the name of freedom. All of the fighting was to try to save or defend something, on both sides. They didn’t agree with each other, but both sides thought they were doing the right thing.
