Chapter 3

Aurelia's pov I blink, my eyes open, and rays of light hit my face as I raise my hands to shield my face from the burning sun. The air smelt fresh, and I could feel the thorns from the grass pierce through my skin. My surroundings felt different and for a moment I paused to think of how I got to this place. Why was I lying on the grass? How did I get to the forest part of the pack? I struggled to stand on my feet, but I couldn't. Flashbacks of my lost son and Sebastian's rejection raced through my mind. Jane's betrayal cut me deep when I remembered the life of lies I had lived for twenty years. Aside from being angry that she betrayed me, I was more angry that she wasn't my sister, meaning I was a nobody. She clearly said my parents were dead, so I had been fooled all this while. What a life! "But I died!" I gasped after realizing I was alive after Jane's sword pierced through my stomach. "Who's going to explain this? Or am I in the land of the dead?" "Aurelia!" I heard a voice whisper my name. I turned but found no one. I must be imagining things now. But the voice came again, this time clearer and louder. "Get up beautiful Aurelia." A feminine voice urged, and I was sure the voice traveled with the winds. The air felt so cool and for a second I wished I could just float in the air, forgetting about all my troubles as the wind swayed me to and fro. "Who's that please?" I questioned, standing on my feet as I turned in circles, anxiety building in my chest. "I'm the moon goddess. I have come to help you," the strange but beautiful voice replied. "Ooh! Goddess of our great world." I gasped in relief. "Thank you!" "You are welcome, Aurelia. Do not worry about what Sebastian did. I've given you another chance to live for a purpose which I'm going to disclose to you now." "Okay, what do you want me to do?" I asked almost in whispers. "First of all, what do you want?" The moon goddess asked me and I faced the direction her voice came from. "Revenge!" I blurted. "I want revenge against the Suncrest pack but Janel and Sebastian are my first targets." "Is that all?" She asked me and I nodded in the affirmative, still shocked that it was only a voice I could hear without a body. "I have two compensations for you, Aurelia. Besides giving you a second chance to live, I have prepared a second chance mate for you, and the baby you lost is now reborn with you." The words of the moon goddess sent chills down my spine. I would have a second chance mate and my son would still be alive. "Thank you, I…I don't know how to appreciate you enough." I gasped as my hands unconsciously touched my stomach. I was pregnant again. My thoughts quickly drifted to my daughter. I wondered how she was faring. The moon goddess' next words made me realize she was reading my thoughts. Of course, she had the power to. "Not to worry, I'd make sure I keep her safe and reunite both of you." I let out a sigh at her soothing words. "You have to commence your journey now. You are currently in the Moonworld pack, and you'll meet the Alpha, who will take you home with him. He's your fated mate." "What…what if he doesn't love me?" I asked. I was too scared to start a journey of regrets. Sebastian really hurt me for me to give myself to anyone easily again. "Life doesn't always give you what you want, you have to make out what you need, and it all depends on how bad you need it." Her soft voice played in my ears like a melody. "Don't forget Aurelia, your chance to love again would give you the power you need to take your revenge." "Okay, Moon goddess." "One more thing, he will need your help with something important, find out what it is and do your best to solve that problem." "You have a lot of battles to face. Do not trust anyone!" She instructed, and I was sure to remember that, after Janel's and Sebastian's betrayal, trust was going to be a scarce word in my dictionary. "Follow the path facing the moon, and you'll find your clues, Goodbye Aurelia." She said, and I felt the breeze colder than it was initially and within a minute my surroundings went back to normal. *** I have been walking for hours now. I didn't know where I was going, but according to the moon goddess, I had to walk till I got to the Moonworld town. I observed myself and I looked too unkempt to approach an Alpha this way. It was going to take me hours to get to town, and I was getting weak already. I've not eaten well for two days now, and it was beginning to tell on me. I sat down to rest a little before I continued my journey. I pondered on the moon goddess instructions, I had a lot of tasks ahead of me and they seemed overwhelming. I was just an Omega, weak and useless, even though I had a wolf, it didn't make much difference since it inhabited a weak body. I gazed at the bruises under my feet, Janel made me go through all these just because of jealousy. She always made slight jokes that I was using a charm for the Alpha that made him accept me as his Luna. I never knew she meant evil towards me. Suddenly, noises thundered in the sky and droplets of water started to pour down. From the dark look in the sky, I was sure this rain was going to be a heavy one. I had to look for shelter. I ran as fast as my tiny legs and strength could carry me towards a building I sighted from afar. The thorns on the floor pierced my bare feet, but I didn't mind, as the water had drained my dress, and I was shivering from the cold. I finally got to the building, but I was drenched by the rain. The door was slightly opened, so I pushed it open, and with steady steps, I made my way into the sitting room. There was a fireplace already lit and I became alert. Someone was inside this place. It could be a kidnapper or drug dealer. This building was in the middle of the forest, and I needed to leave immediately. I turned to make my way out when a strong scent hit my nostrils. My heart leaped for joy as my wolf danced in excitement. She had been quiet throughout the journey and I began to wonder if she was going at me. "MATE!" She rejoiced. His strong smell filled my nostrils, and I was scared of turning around because I felt his presence heavily in the room. "Are you lost?" A bass voice asked, and my heart raced more. I summoned the courage to turn, and my eyes met the most handsome man I've seen all my life. His black curly hair fell on his face and the upper part of his robe showed traces of hair down his chest. My heart melted when he touched my hands and asked me one more time. "Are you okay?" He placed his hands on my forehead as he felt my temperature. "You are running a fever due to the cold, you have to change into something new." "Ok…okay," I stammered as I swallowed hard OK, but who was he?
