Alliances

We waited guarding our border. Listening for any and every sound out there. We waited for three days before they arrived. The came like a giant wave. We were heavily outnumbered as I only had five hundred warriors. I put up shields and protection spells as best I could. When they broke through the shield, all hell broke loose. We fought for hours and hours on end. I could feel every one of my warriors pain as they died. It was agonizing knowing how many was dying. And just when we were about to retreat, everything changed. Large wolves appeared over the border. They weren't rogues. I could tell due to their smell. They fought with us. There were probably three thousand of them just fighting along side us. After each and every rogue was killed you could only hear silence on the battlefield. Strained breaths were the only sound above the silence, it was so quiet you could hear the sweat and blood dripping off of every wolf that fought. A big grey wolf with blue eyes approached me. He shifted into human form. "My name is Cato. I am the beta of the Silvermoon pack and my alpha has send us to assist in the battle. May I please speak to alpha Mordeca?" he asked me politely. "He was injured in the battle and has been sent to the pack hospital," I said hoping that he would not insist on meeting the so called male alpha. "Very well she wolf, we will be leaving. Please ensure that your alpha calls alpha Malakor. He has business he wants to discuss with your alpha," he turned around and all of them left as quick as they arrived. The warriors that had minor injuries helped me to remove the rogue wolves bodies from my territory. We burned them a few miles into the forest. Spencer ensured that all of the critical wolves were taken to the pack hospital to be cared for. After everyone was safe and back in their homes I also went home to take a shower and eat something. I sent all of my warriors home to rest and cast a shield spell over my territory. I would know the moment someone broke the barrier. I went to bed thinking about all the warriors I had lost. Good men and women that fought hard for their pack. The next morning was a slow morning. Everyone was still exhausted from the battle so I allowed them to rest a day longer. They needed and deserved it after everything. I patrolled the borders in my wolf form ensuring that it was safe. I returned home to write a report to the council about the battle. After that was sent I heard a knock on my office door. "You may enter Spencer," I said after I smelled who was on the other side of the door. He entered, "How do you always know it is me alpha?" he asked looking a little shocked. I smiled at him, "You are supposed to be resting Spencer. What are you doing here?" I asked him. "What are we going to do about the alpha of Silvermoon? He wants to speak with you," he sounded worried. "I will think of something. Do not worry Spencer. We have more pressing matters to worry about. We need to make this pack bigger and stronger. I do not know how,but we must find a way," I said looking at him worried. "We will find a way alpha. There is always a way," he said, sounding very positive. "Go back to your mate Spencer, we will talk in the morning," Spencer left quietly, leaving me to my thoughts about the future. I picked up my phone, cleared my voice and said a quick chant. I could alter my voice very easily and now I sounded like how I presume alpha Mordeca sounded. I dialed Silvermoon's Beta. "Hello," he sounded very rude. "Hello, this is Alpha Mordeca of pack Gradius, I would like to speak with your alpha," I said feeling giddy with my fake voice. "Alpha Mordeca, yes of course. Just a moment," he sounded way more chill than before. "At last, Mordeca, I am Malakor. How are you?" a man spoke with a deep voice. He sounded just like Spencer had described him. "I am good thank you, I wanted to thank you for your assistance with the attack on my pack. If it were not for your men, my pack would have been ripped to shreds," I said sincerely. "Yes, well we cannot leave our fellow packs to fend for themselves when they are in need. Maybe someday I might require assistance and then you would be able to help, but if you would please excuse me Mordeca. I have some business I need to attend to. Thank you for your call," the call ended right after. I was a little shocked at the quick conversation. I called him because his beta said he had business to discuss. I put my phone down and continued with my work. When I finished I headed to the border to check it one last time before I retired for the evening. When I got back I took a shower, ate something and went straight to bed. I thought that I would be able to fall asleep immediately but I did not. My head was spinning all around with thoughts and plans for the future. plans to grow and expand our little pack so that it would be better and stronger. I would have to speak to Ella and Spencer in the morning to ask them if they have any thoughts on how to expand our pack. If they do not have any ideas I would have to go to Aiofe. He always helped when I needed his help. I laid in bed for probably two hours before he decided to get up and check the border again. I could not sleep with everything going on in my head. I had to clear my mind if I wanted a good night's rest. Tomorrow would be a very busy day and I would not be able to get through it if I did not sleep properly. When I came to the border everything was quiet. A light breeze was blowing. Cooling my body after my run to the border. "Alcina," my wolf spoke to me. "Yes Isla," "When will we find our mate? Me and the others are getting worried that we might never find him," she said, almost sounding scared. "We should have accepted the mate bond from Jack," My witch Adara said. "Adara, if we accepted the bond that was between you and Jack, the rest of us would be in pain. And if we accepted him, what would happen if our real mate came along?" I asked her but she was quiet. "Mate, mate, mate! It is a bunch of bull. We do not need a mate. He would only slow us down and make us weak," my lycan Cleona said, sounding irritated. "Cleona, I think you are probably the most stubborn, hard headed being in the entire world and also probably the only being that does not long for her mate," I said waiting for her to answer but it was like she disappeared. Just like always. I smiled and went home. I did not sleep that evening. I had too much on my mind.
