The next morning -Faleen's POV- I had fallen asleep in the chair with the book on my chest. I looked around and it seemed like everyone had cleared out of the library. I hurried down the stair case and found my way back to the care unit. Hopefully I didn't make Luna mad staying there for so long. I was about to open the door when I heard Luna's voice around the corner. I peeped around the corner and she was carrying a tray of food. My stomach instantly growled. Luna was now walked towards me and I pretended like I was just going to open the door to find her. "Oh there you are! You must of dozed off huh? I was going to bring you breakfast in the library but since your here lets go to the dining hall." My stomach growled in agreement and I nodded and followed her passed the library to the dining hall. I wasn't too big. It had long tables with blue fabric covering them. I could smell people baking fresh bread and fish. My mouth started to water. Luna set my tray down on one of the long tables. "Theo and Delilah will be in here as well so you won't be alone okay?" she said. I stuffed my mouth with the fresh bread and dug my fork into the fish. "uh-huh," I said with my mouth half full and she walked away. I looked around the dining hall for something to drink. I saw a gold jug by some clear glasses on table and assumed that is was water so I headed over to pour me a glass. "Come on Theo I'm starving! Hurry up!" I heard a high pitched voice from the hall and turned to see who it was. It was a girl. She was short and walked like she was the most important think in the room. She spotted me and started to walk over to me. I instantly turned from her and started chugging my water. "I haven't seen you here before...what's your name stranger?" I could feel her eyes on me. I chugged the last bit of my water and replied," My name is Faleen..and yours?" I asked. She held her head up high and announced herself,"Delilah of the seven seas!" she nudged me,"Has a good ring to it doesn't it?" I tried not to look at her crazy and I just smiled and nodded. "So your Theo's sister?" I asked. She looked like I had just insulted her. "Uh! No! I'm his mate! and soon to be queen. How dare you! Where are your manners addressing me like that!" And with a huff she walked to the table were I was sitting at. I scoffed at here reaction. "Well you could of fooled me...you like a damn child.." I said under my breath and turned to get more water and went back to my set. Delilah glared at me. "Are you okay?" I asked. Delilah leaned in closer to me and I leaned away from her. "Uh..okay ill take that as a no.." "I don't like you..." Delilah squinted her eyes at me. Jesus if this was Theo's mate he must love crazy woman.. I tried to continue to eat my food but she kept starring at me. I set my fork down "Well if you have a problem with me why don't you move to a different table?" I gestured to the tables around us. She still kept her eyes on me...like she was looking for something. She started to play with her fork. "Do you like jewelry?" she asked out of no where. Didn't this girl just say she hated me? I paused for a moment and replied "Yes...what about it?" She looked like she was off in a daydream. "My father gave me this beautiful black pearl necklace with an emerald on top and diamonds that encircled it but silly ol' clumsy me lost it somewhere and daddy's mad..." I almost chocked on my food. Why was she looking for the key? "But since I'm so close to the necklace sometimes I can feel it. Like a heart beat but very very faint." She leered up at me now. "So ill ask you again Faleen," She hissed my name. "Do..you...like jewelry?" She dug her fork into the table bending it. My pearl started to burn. Oh no. I pretended to drink my water and accidentally spill it on myself to stop the pearl from burning. "Oh wow..I'm such a klutz," I grabbed my napkin and started wiping down the table. Her eyes were still narrowed on me. "You know...now that I think about it I hate jewelry..always leaves a green ring on me...who knows maybe I'm allergic." I lied and picked up my tray and placed it by the trash bin. "Delilah what did I tell you about harassing my guests?" A Thunderous voice entered the room. I turned around quickly and saw a white bearded man holding a trident. Delilah dropped her fork and stood up and bowed. "My apologizes your highness. We were just chitchatting...you know girl stuff." She looked back at me and smiled but it was fake. I could see right through her. She skipped out of the room like nothing in the world could hurt her and my attention turned to the man holding the trident. He walked up to me and looked at me for a while. "It amazes me how much you look like your father Faleen..." he said. He knew my father? I bowed to him just liked Delilah had and lifted my head slightly, " I'm sorry sir but...I don't know who you are." He smiled at me "Of course you don't your father never brought you back here and for good reason. I am Poseidon Ruler of the Seven Seas and you are in my Kingdom of Abynea." No way..I stared at him for a moment and raised up from my bow. "Luna told me where I could find you. Here have a set." He pointed to the table and I sat down. "I'm sorry you've been mixed into all of this my dear. Fate has a funny sense of humor doesn't she?" He said and I nodded. "I'm sorry but...how do you know my father?" The question was embedded in my head now. I wanted answers. Poseidon sat next to me and scratched his chin. "Your father was a warrior here in Abynea and also one of my trusted friends..." "My father was a warrior here?! How come he never told me that or about this place?" I asked. "It was better if you didn't know. Your father was right to keep you away so don't be upset with him. He did it all for you." He replied. My mind was reeling. The necklace and now he was a warrior here in Abynea and a close friend of Poseidon? I felt like I didn't even know my own father anymore. The man that use to play with me in the oasis pool. Build little sand castles with me and Id pretend I was the monster and knock them all down. It all felt bitter sweet. "It's a lot to take in..I know," he said. "The last time I saw my father...he looked so exhausted. It looked like he hadn't slept for days. He gave me this necklace and told me to watch who I trusted." I touched the spot were the necklace had sunk into my skin."He never said anymore than that. Not even I love you kiddo." Tears started to flow down my cheeks. I really didn't know if I was ever going to see him again. "Here my dear," Poseidon gave me a clean napkin to wipe away my tears. "Can I see him again?" I asked. Poseidon seemed to think about it and then said,"I brought you here to protect you from whatever was hunting you father Faleen. He wouldn't want you to go back for him." My eyes widen,"What? Why was he being hunted? And by what?" Poseidon sighed,"He is being hunted by Hades henchmen. He wanted you safe so they couldn't get to you. They knew some how that he had the key." "But he doesn't have it anymore I do!" I yelled. "They don't know that Faleen, and that's how your father wanted it." he replied. "NO! He can't do this! He's all I have left! Let me go back please he's in danger!" I tried to persuade him but he would not budge. "Faleen..." he started. "You have a son! You should know how this feels!" I continued. "Faleen I can't do that." He said "Why the hell not!" I screamed. He paused and closed his eyes and sighed. "Your father isn't there anymore."He said. "Well lets find him. He could be anywhere remember he is hiding. We could jus-" I started but he stopped me. He looked at me and I wanted nothing more for him to take back his next words... "They had already found your father the day you left...He is gone Faleen." He eyes held a deep saddens within them. "Gone?.." my voice cracked and I felt a part of my soul rip apart from me.
