At first I felt a rush of sadness, very briefly. Then, my sadness melted into anger. I’m done with not being good enough. The first thing I felt was the cracking of one of my ribs, although the anger I felt kept the pain at bay. Matthew gave me a shocked, almost terrified look. Confusion settled in along with my anger, as more bones began to snap and shift. It hit me that I was shifting, and within a few mere seconds standing in my place was a beautiful pure white wolf.
I let out a deep menacing growl, and took a step towards an extremely terrified Alpha. Matthew stumbled back, pushing the closet door open as I stalked forward. My anger was too great, but I knew that it wasn’t Matthews fault entirely. “Oh my, look at your eyes,” he said in awe, despite his fear. I looked to my left, knowing that’s where a mirror was, and what I saw startled me. I had the most beautiful rainbow colored eyes. Never has another white wolf had rainbow eyes. I was amazed.
Other pack members began to come, trying to figure out what the racket was. As they saw they’re soon to be Alpha sprawled on the floor in fear, their gazes shifted to me. I saw many different expressions; fear, anger, awe, but most of all curiosity. They had no idea who I was, all they could sense was that I was a pack member. “Who is that?” Asked a woman who stood in the middle of the crowd.
“I don’t think you’d believe me if I told you,” Matthew said, his eyes never leaving me. “Get my father,” and as he said that I let out an even more gruesome growl then before. Everyone in the room, including Matthew bowed their heads in submission.
“I will get your father,” my voice rang out loud. Everyone gasped, never has any werewolf been able to speak out loud in their wolf form. “And if he’s lucky, I may leave him alive.”
“Please, let me get my father. And please, I’m begging, don’t kill him. I know you’ve been put through a lot in this pack, and I understand your anger, but he’s my father,” Matthew pleaded. Part of me was so angry, but another part of me was understanding. I never had a father, I did always wish for one. I would be no better then the rest of this pack if I chose to go through with revenge. It would be futile, and in the end I’d be no better then them, if not worse.
“Fine, get your father. Be warned though, I will not be remaining within this pack for much longer. My mother and I will be leaving, and if anyone tried to stop us, I will kill them,” then I sat, and waited for the Alpha.
