Panic Before the Party

Leila's P.O.V

I had just finished up in my office when there was a knock on my door "come in" i answered looking up as the door opened to see my two beautiful friends smiling "Melissa, Briar" I stood with my arms opened wide as they came crashing into my arms, Raven stood in the door way smiling as the girls squealed in my embrace, I started laughing "Oh my god I have missed you" I said wiping my tears. I pulled them to my couch "how is everyone? Mum? Trey? RayRay?" I excitedly said Briar was the first to speak "Your mum is great, she's on missions all the time, its actually great having her around she jumped back into Lu- duties quickly. Everyone is good Lei, working hard, Trey and Ray won't be here into late tomorrow they had to check something out" I smiled at the thought of being around my bestfriends and family. Melissa sat back on the couch, "It will be good to have some time off, We have been non stop all year" Briar smirked at Melissa "and be good to smooch our mates" I saw a glimpse of mischievousness in their demeanor "hey, remember you are not of age yet, BEHAVE yourselves. I don't need your fathers' bringing the wrath of the gods on our mates packs. Ryder and Lucas have been spoken to about how they are to behave now here is yours" I watched as both girls groan while Raven giggled "You two are not to seduce those boys, they are waiting until you are 18 and that is final. Do I Make Myself Clear" They looked at me wide eyed "Yes Leila" they said in unison, I smiled at them "great, Raven can you show them to their rooms" Raven nodded and left with the girls, I checked my watch realising I only had 45 minutes to get ready.

After my shower I grabbed my clothes, we weren't going out just a small picnic by the lake so I chose an A-Line summer dress that ended mid thigh, red flats, a white long cardigan. I quickly brushed my hair and clipped the sides up, minimal makeup and lip gloss and I was ready. I got to the kitchen where the basket was waiting for me, as I stepped out I saw Lucian talking to some of the Crescent Moon warriors and Billy from the Tawoomba Tribe, the warriors saw me and immediately bowed, Lucian turned and saw me he witnessed the respect the pack had for me although he believed it was due to him being Alpha "Little Leilei?" I heard and turned towards the voice "Billy?" I was shocked to see him as I hadn't seen him since the day before the attack on our pack, he left the tribe on a mission and hadn't returned, I ran to him and jumped in his arms "Hey bub" was all he said as he let me go "when did you come back? where did you go?" then I punched him he lifted his hands to surrender "Woah, your getting tougher homegirl!" he laughed "first, I got home lastweek and I was on a mission, I couldn't keep in contact with anyone while away but my grandfather asked me to be here to help Alpha Lucian with security, so there is 30 Tawoomba warriors but I will be inside" Lucian who I could feel was uncomfortable with mine and Billy's relationship wrapped his arm around my waist "as I was explaining to Billy, we have it covered so he wouldn't be needed" I lent into Lucian, I saw a flicker of hurt in Billy's eyes which didn't go unnoticed by Lucian as his grip tightened "and I was explaining to your mate, I have my orders from all three of our leaders, they are who I listen to, your safety is of my utmost responsibility and you know I take that seriously" I nodded and turned to Lucian cupping his face in my hands so he could see into my eyes "Baby, let him stay, there are reasons the leaders want him close and I wouldn't want to argue with them" he grimaced at my words and reluctantly nodded, I spun to Billy "great it's a masqurade ball so make sure your dressed for the occasion, now if you excuse us we have a date. See you later" I started pulling Lucian away as I could feel him getting more upset.

It only took us 20 minutes to get to the lake, we didn't really talk alot I know he would bombard me with questions but that can wait. I spread the blanket and started pulling out the food from the basket when he slumped down "Lucian are you o.k?" I asked handing him a bottle of coke "Who is that guy?" he didn't look me in the eyes just focused on his coke "Billy, he's Red Hawk's nephew, we grew up together, he's one of their warriors" Lucian sat up and took my hand which was shaking "No, who is he to you, Leila?" I took a deep breathe before looking at him "Billy, he. we. um" I squeezed his hand "Leila who is he?" I could feel his anger radiating from him as he snatched his hand away and stood up, I looked up at him his eyes were flickering different colours I knew he was fighting for control, I jumped up and grabbed his arms "Lucian, Please its nothing we were just kids." he ripped his arms from me "who is he to you" I shook my head tears were flowing down my cheeks "ANSWER ME" he roared "Billy is my ex-boyfriend" I wrapped my arms around him holding on to him tight, he grabbed my hands from behind his back and pulled them to the front "did you love him?" he was staring into my eyes and I could see hurt and anger "I was 14 Lucian, I didn't know what love was until you" he closed his eyes "you did and you let him come into MY pack to guard you, your own personal guard" I shook my head "N-nnno its not like that Lucian, he's the best warrior I know" his grip tightened around my wrists "I AM THE BEST WARRIOR FOR YOU LEILA!!!" before i could comprehend he pushed me away and took off running back towards the pack house.

Raven, Lucian is on his way back, I think he's going after Billy. I'm going to Tristan. I mind linked Raven and took off running shifting into my wolf I couldn't care less if anyone saw me. I ran and ran through the forest, I knew if I went through my house and through the woods behind it I would go into Lincoln's Territory, as I came over the hill I saw two figures waiting, I knew it was Tristan and Trinity, he of course had his back to me while Trinity raced over with some clothes "you know it was stupid to be in wolf form Leila" Trinity said handing over a pair of shorts and t shirt I nodded but she instantly saw my eyes were red from crying "I-I I know" I sobbed, Tristan turned and bear hugged me as I cried in his arms Billy understands our ways Lei, how important our mates are. He would never interfere in your relationship Tristan mind linked to me "I know Tris, I love Lucian but Billy has been in my life forever" Trinity linked her arm with me "Billy also went away a few days before the attack, so he would of only found out about everything including you finding your mate last week, that's a lot to deal with and then to come here and see you with your mate. s**t that's a lot" I looked at Trinity part of me wanted to slap her but part of me wanted to hug her. Of course it would be hard for Billy, when he left we were still happy and we cared deeply for each other, he and I were in our own little world and then the attack happened and Mum and I left straight after our scouts heard Aureus was trying to hunt down members of the Black family, he had no idea all of this was happening, I had a few years to find myself and moving on from him, finding love with Lucian, he on the other hand didn't get that chance, how will this all play out.

Lucian's P.O.V

I watched as Leila leapt into Billy's arms, he looked at her with pure love the way he held her and she held him, wrapped perfectly, his men stood behind him some sympathetic some were happy to see them together embraced. I hate to admit it but I was getting jealous, She is mine and no one else's. The way he talked to her there was more than friendship, why would Jeremiah send him as her personal guard, from the email received he stated that Billy was coming as extra protection for Leila bringing with him his warriors to help at the party while 10 crescent moon warriors will help at the borders. I could still see his hand on her waist and It annoyed me she hadn't moved it. I couldn't help but get angrier at the sight. There's something between them, I can feel it and I didn't want him here. Leila and I left to go on our picnic, I hoped I would calm down but the quiet walk actually made it worse, questions swirled in my head, images and worse case scenarios played in my head.

I left her standing there, she didn't run after me she just stood there watching me, she loved him, she was his first, maybe her first kiss. He was her first boyfriend and she let him stay here. I ran all the way back, I could see my Beta with Billy they seem to be going over some procedures. I saw Billy smile and I saw red, I stormed directly over and grabbed his shoulder I spun him around and punched his face, it felt good I punched him again and again I saw his blood splatter about. I felt Paul grabbing my arm but I am still stronger than him, I turned to throw another punch when some sort of power pushed me back by about three feet then I saw Raven her eye's glowing bright blue "STOP IT!" she roared after I took a deep breath I saw the scene in front of me a bloodied Billy, some of my warriors shifted to wolf form and Tawoomba Warriors in a defense stance with Toma hawks and other various weapons and in between the two groups was Raven "Stand down Tawoomba Warriors" she called out, they each put their weapons away immediately and went back to what they were doing, Billy let out a chuckle "so I guess Leibug told you I was her boyfriend" I growled at him "Ex-boyfriend!" he stood up clicking his nose in place but still wiping blood from his face "yeah, up until she found out she was your mate she was my girlfriend and seeing as I have only just come home we haven't officially broken up" that was when Raven spun around to face him "Billy, you know what mates' mean to wolves, Lucian is an Alpha so his feelings are a lot stronger. Refrain from poking the wolf with a stick" Billy laughed at her "I'm not here to cause trouble dude, as soon as I found out what happened I went to visit their graves, my uncle came to me and told my I was destined to be with Cindz but she was taken away from me now I am here to protect Leila, that is all" I looked at Raven who had tears in her eyes, Briar and Melissa were crying into each others' arms "Lucian, I love Leibug but not like that, not how you think, she is yours I understand but you will not stop me from doing my job by protecting her" he turned around and started to walk away "Oh and if you ever come at me like that, I'll have your head on a spike" I stood there watching him when I was shoved by Raven "what the hell? do you realise your a d**k?" I gave her a guilty glance when Briar spoke "He and Cindz would have made cute babies" she cried while Melissa laughed, Raven smiled at them both "would have been awkward at pack dinners though" Raven laughed. She looked at me seriously "Did you just leave her there?" Then I remembered I had just left Leila at the lake.

I arrived and she was gone I spun around and ran around in circles trying to find her, her scent was faded there wasn't enough to pick up a trail to follow. I called out her name but I couldn't seem to focus on her where abouts. I mind linked Paul and Lucas we needed to find her and find her quick when my phone buzzed Hey dude, just letting you know your mate is here. Lincoln messaged me I mind linked the boys saying it was alright she was at Lincolns On my way now I messaged back No need bro, Ryder is on his way to pick up Melissa, he's dropping her off, by the way she looks you may have to grovel you ass up to her. What ever you did APOLOGIZE  I giggled at the last messaged and headed back to the pack house.

 I went to the kitchen to fix her something to eat, I made creamy bacon pasta for when she arrived, I could hear squeals and knew Ryder had arrived so I walked out and I suddenly stopped when I saw her standing next to Ryder with a forced smile, she saw me and her smile disappeared as she turned and went upstairs. I looked at Raven who shrugged her shoulders. I went back to the kitchen and dished up a plate of pasta and walked upstairs to our room, I heard the shower going, instead of going in I sat on our bed and waited. I heard the door open and she was only wrapped in a towel "baby can we talk?" she walked to the closet and closed the door, I sat there waiting, she walked out a few minutes later wearing one of my t shirts and her grey jogging pants, her hair was still wrapped in a towel, she sat at the head of the bed "Did you hit him?" she asked and I dropped my head in guilt "Billy and I were friends, close friends, we started dating when I was fourteen, about 3 or 4 days before the attack his grandfather sent him with warriors on a mission no one knows what the mission was after the attack mum and I left, I had no way of talking to him or finding him. Then I found you and I am in love with you Lucian" I smiled at her but she was looking at her hands "to answer your question did I love him? Yes, I did but not the way I love you. He is still one of the best warriors we have and if Red Hawk wants him to be part of my personal guards then I wont argue with him" I could see her eyes were red from crying "I'm sorry baby, I just got angry and I couldn't control it but then he explained that he was mated to a girl named Cindz-" I saw her head snap up and glare at me "W-what did you say?" was that jealousy I saw in her eyes, I could see shock but could it be jealousy "He said he went to visit peoples graves when his grandfather explain he was destined to Cindz but she was taken from him-" before I could finish Leila jumped off the bed and sprinted out the door, I ran after her and when I got outside I saw her with Billy, I couldn't hear what was being said but I saw him nodding and smiling at her, then she hugged him, I could tell she was crying as I got closer he whispered to her something "here your mate is here, forgive him Leibug, he seems o.k" she giggled at his words "he's the best" I placed my hands on her waist, she turned and held on to my neck, I started to walk with her when she stopped "Billy, you and Cindz would of had cute babies" I saw pain flash on his face "the cutest Leibug, even cuter than yours" she let out a giggle and buried her face in my chest. I didn't quite understand why she was upset but there wasn't much about Leila that I do understand. I took her back to our room and placed her in bed laying down next to her. It wasn't long before she fell asleep leaving me to think about everything although I couldn't turn my mind off, going over security measures I hope nothing happens tomorrow not because Leila organised it but because it was my sister's 18 Birthday.
