Risen Chapter 13. Blow off some steam — The morning light reflected on Kelly’s stunning legs, her t-shirt raised all the way to her tummy. The bedsheet was curled up between her legs, her untamed hair all over the pillow. Kelly moved comfortable on the bed, turning herself over to the other side. She opened her eyes instantly when her body made contact with a solid figured beside her. She studied the room, her eyes trailing off at every corner of the room, then she realised it wasn’t her room. She turned her head, coming directly face to face with the solid body, her widen in shock. All sorts of different thoughts run inside her head, how did her clothes come off, why was she in bed with Kara. Kelly threw her body down the bed, falling hard on the floor. “s**t!” she cursed while she was rubbing against her head. The bedsheet still intertwined with her bare legs. Kara shifted uncomfortably under the bedsheet she had, with her sleepy self she mumbled as she buried her head deeper into the pillow. “Ahh.. Alex stop making so much noise.” as soon as those words came out of her mouth, she was now fully awake, her eyes swung open. “Alex!?” She jumped out of the bed in shock, unfortunately she landed on the floor as well. Kara’s ears were filled with laughter, which came from the other side of the floor. She growled before sitting upright and placing her arms on the bed, she meet the eyes of the laughing Kelly who sat in the same position as Kara, on the floor. “Well, good morning to you too.” Kara smiled at Kelly, who had stopped laughing by then. “I wouldn’t say Good, my head is killing me.” Kelly placed right hand on her forehead. She felt as though her head was going to explode and she had to contain it somehow. Kara laughed aloud which annoyed Kelly adding up to her headache, she throw a pillow in purpose to shut Kara up but she missed. She dropped her head on the bed in frustration immediately regretting what she had done, Kelly growled in pain. “This is why you don’t have to drink too much.” Kara chuckled softly, Kelly ignoring her comment. Kara got up from the floor, “I’ll just get you some meds...” she quietly eyed Kelly before speaking further, “—Ms. Grinch.” Kara rushed out before the pillow could hit her. Kara returned with a glass of water and a pain killer, Kelly swallowed the pill. “Breakfast, what do you prefer having?” Kara asked, “Anything is fine.” with that she left the room to make them breakfast. Kara popped her head back in, she found Kelly picking up the bedsheets, her glorious legs caught Kara’s wondering eyes. Kara stood there dumbfound, she watched her every move, every moment forgetting what she wanted to tell her. Kelly almost had a heart attack when she saw Kara standing by the door daydream, Kara looked down in embarrassment, she didn’t mean to stare. “Just-t came to say, the spare towel is in the third drawer and a spare toothbrush by the sink. That’s if you want to freshen up.. not that you stink or anything, I just thought after yesterday you wanted to. But you look really good either way—okay, I’ll shut up now.” Kara rushed out again before Kelly could reply, she felt really embarrassed and her mouth couldn’t shut up. Kelly had a bewildered look on her face, when she could comprehend what had happened, she lightly giggled. She made her way to the bathroom, throwing the t-shirt she slept on the bed. “That smells great. What are you making?” Kelly appeared from the hallway. Her hair still slightly wet, she had on one of Kara’s clothes. Kara gave her a friendly smile before replying, “it’s just an omelette.” Kelly gave her a smile before she sat down. They both sat down and started having their breakfast, Kara sat beside Kelly. Halfway through the breakfast date, they started exchanging small talk ‘till it was a tangible conversation. “Okay I get it, but why were we in bed together—and did you look at me when you undressed me?” the last part was just to tease Kara but she ended up choking on her fruit juice. Kelly patted her on the back lightly, Kara straighten herself before speaking. “You followed me to the couch, funny thing is I left you in bed but you came here and slept on me because I refused to sleep with you. When I went to leave you in bed again you held on to me tightly, then I slept with you in bed. Nothing more or less.” Kara started eating her omelette again ignoring the other question, Kelly had shot. Kelly looked everywhere but at Kara, her face evident of embarrassment. “I didn’t do anything else? More stupid?” she whispered under her breath. She wanted an answer but she was sure she did something more stupid. “Oh you did.” Kara teased while continuing shoving eggs in her mouth, her eyes didn’t bother leave the plate. “What was it?” Kelly placed her arm on the counter awaiting Kara’s response. Kara this time faced her, their eyes directly staring at eachother. She placed her index finger over Kelly’s lips, which caught Kelly by surprise but she didn’t move away. Then Kara whispered, her eyes piercing her’s. “Kiss.” Kelly’s cheeks turned deep red, Kara lowered her finger then start laughing at the shock across her face. Kelly couldn’t find the strength to look Kara in the eyes, it was all too much. Kara eventually stopped laughing, she placed her arm over Kelly’s shoulder, leaning closer to her ear then whispered, “It’s okay, no need to feel bad or whatever. It was just a drunk kiss, it didn’t mean anything. If it makes you feel better, it was more of a peck.” Kara lightly squeezed Kelly before drawing her arm away. Kelly felt even more sad, she kissed her crush and she thought it meant nothing. It actually meant everything, the worse part being she didn’t kiss back. Kelly ran her fingers through her hair in frustration but quickly withdrew before Kara could notice. After breakfast, Kelly stuck around for a few minutes before she decided to leave. As much as the thought of spending the whole day with Kara sounded tempting, she had to go home, a lot of work was waiting. Kara was now on her way to shower then it was off to the gym all afternoon. The water ran from Kara’s body dripping down to the floor, she stood infront of the mirror as she was drying out her hair. When she was done, she made her way to the room. Throwing on her typical short and black shirt combo, she made her way to the front door with her bag pack over her shoulder and her hoodie as well as phone in her hands. The walk to the bus stop was more pleasant than the other days. The sun shone just right, the hot breeze hitting her face as she walked. For the first time Kara felt free, her heart still ached but not all the time. When the bus came, she made her way to the back. Music playing through her ears as the bus drove off.
