Risen Chapter 14. Lonely nights — “Well someone is definitely trying to come to all the appointments.” Marcus appeared from his office walking towards Kara. She had just arrived a couple of minutes ago, her hands on both sides of the bag strap. She turned with a smile on her face, then Kara held out her right hand pointing towards Marcus’ body. “Well I need this killer body.” A smile grew on his face as he pulled Kara in for a big hug, when they both released each other they walked towards the locker room. Kara went in while Marcus went back the way he came. The locker room was empty when Kara got in, she walked over to her usual locker then left her bag pack inside. Kara walked back to the boxing ring, inside stood Tabby and Marcus. Tabby had her boxing gloves on and Marcus arms were leaning against the ring. “It took you long enough.” Marcus spoke as she stepped into the ring. Once Kara was in she wore her boxing gloves, Tabby wore a flirty smirk, Kara just ignored it. They both walked to the center of the ring, “Can’t wait to get in between your legs after this.” Tabby spoke as she looked directly into Kara’s. Marcus snorted at Tabby’s choice of words. “You wish.” Kara laughed lightly, with Marcus’ hand gesture they both began to circle eachother as though they were about to attack their prey. Marcus watched the two from outside the ring, none had thrown a punch. It was either both were afraid or just trying to wear eachother out, then when he least expected it, Kara had been bit across the face. Tabby stood there with a wide grin admiring her handy work while Kara was still recovering from the heavy blow. “I told you you shouldn’t have rejected me, you lost a fine ass woman.” Tabby remarked as she was still circling Kara waiting for the perfect time to strike, Kara watched the slender bodied woman, with every step she took Kara already evaluated what the next step would be. With her defence still up, Kara gave Tabby a smirk, she threw a side blow towards Tabby which she successfully dodged. Kara looked at her amused, she held out her left hand pointing at Tabby. “I would highly disagree on that.. but you are one fine ass woman—” “Ooh you think I’m fine?” Tabby brought her guard down, standing upright looking extremely flattered. While her guard was down Kara successfully tackled Tabby to the ground, Kara stood over Tabby. “Yeah, just not my type.” she helped Tabby back on her feet, Tabby snored at the remark. Marcus shook his head in disapproval, “Less chit chat and more—” “Fighting, we know Marcus.” both the girls said in union, Kara looked at Tabby and they both began to laugh. They both went to the end of the ring, Tabby on the left and Kara to the right. “Women.” Marcus whispered to himself then entered the ring as well, it was time for some serious training. Kara laid on the cold floor completely soaked in sweat, she was beat so was Tabby by her side. After Marcus stepped into the ring, it was over for both of them, he trained them untill they couldn’t stand. Tabby turned her head to the side facing Kara, “He is a cruel motherfucker.” she whispered only loud enough for both of them to hear, Kara looked at Tabby then giggled through the pain. Kara eventually sat up, her legs crossed in front of her chest. She took one sniff from her shirt and instantly regretted it, she removed the shirt from her body. “Yeah and now we both need a shower, we stink.” she threw the shirt to the floor, leaving her in her black sports bra. Tabby sat up after wards then eyed Kara up and down, she had never seen Kara less clothed and not in a million years would she have imagined Kara having light packs. “I think I’m in love, you can take me right here right now.” Tabby spoke as she traced her index finger on Kara’s stomach. Kara had no clue how she did that so fast or got that close, Kara tried getting away from her but to a horrible turn of events Tabby noticed her bullet wounds, the nasty scars she had to carry around for the rest of her life. “What happened to you, if I’m not mistaken this look like bullet—” before Tabby could continue asking more questions Kara got up from the floor, with her shirt in hand. “I’ll go take a shower now.” she rushed off to the locker room leaving Tabby there wondering what happened to Kara before, that left her like that. After Kara had her long awaited shower, she got dressed in the spare clothes she had brought with her. Stepping out of the locker room with her bag pack strapped on her shoulders, Kara met an impatient Tabby by the gym front door. She was also about ready to leave, when she noticed Kara she walked over immediately. Tabby swung her arm over Kara’s shoulder, “I’m going home with you today.” at hearing those words Kara flickered her arm off, they both looked at eachother lost. Kara was surprised and petrified while Tabby was most definitely confused. “Why?” Kara managed to ask after the long pause between them. Tabby sighed dramatically then crossed her arms in front of her chest, “To have a long awaited talk with you, the talk everyone in this place most especially me and Marcus want to have with you.” the tone she used was very different from when ever she tried talking to Kara, this time she wasn’t being funny or flirting it was serious. Kara raised her eye brows a bit suspicious, “We can talk here, right now.” she looked around, almost everyone was gone and to add on it all it was a bit dark. Tabby rolled her eyes, “Not suitable.” she spoke, Kara tilted her head to the side unamused at all there was no need to walk all the way to her apartment, for a little talk. Tabby gave up then huffed, “Fine if you insist, what happened to you Kara.” “What do you mean.” even though Kara asked that question, a small part of her knew exactly what she was trying to get at and the only thing Kara could do is hope it wasn’t that. Tabby took one step forward bringing herself closer to Kara, she looked her dead in the eyes then spoke. “You know exactly what I mean, those wounds, the pain in your eyes everything about you. We want to help can’t you see?” Fear crossed Kara’s eyes and Tabby noticed, Kara moved farther away from Tabby walking to the door. She got ahold of the knob without turning she responded to Tabby, “Nothing happened to me, nothing that you should concern yourself with.” “You’re unbelievable.” Tabby exhaled in frustration, when she saw Kara was ready to leave to touched her shoulder. “Why shouldn’t we then Kara?” Tabby was more than irritated by Kara, all she was trying was to help but that was hard for Kara to admit. Kara looked at her from the edge of her shoulder still not letting the door go, “It’s for you’re own good.” then she immediately walked out of the door, leaving Tabby like all her problems, unsolved. Kara walked through the dark streets with a lot on her mind that night, and like she suspected nothing would be the same again, her peace had been completely violated.
