Chapter 15: Outsmarting

"I don't know, but something or someone wanted me to be here"
From that day he knew Lisa and started doing quests and other things, to end up right where he is right now.
"That was so sad," Says Lisa that was almost crying
"Don't say this to make me feel better," Says Ken
"What about the sword, you didn't mention it in your story," Says Yonezu
"It came with the mask. After I woke up, the sword was just there in my inventory. It was like that buy 1 get 2 from the stores,"
"That's interesting," Says Yonezu and smiles
"Also, did you found the information you needed after my story?"
Yonezu starts thinking and says
"Katsura? the presumable one of the dragon kings from an unknown kingdom,"
"Dragon what?" says Ken confused
"In this world, the dragons, are the most powerful beings, they have many higher numbers than humans and are more powerful. But not your typical dragon is important here. The elementals dragons are also called the elemental gods. I don't know what happened to your day after that day, but some books refer to him as one of the elemental dragons,"
"That sounds unbelievable, from where do you know this?" Ask Ken
"My blades... their creation was to destroy him, this also the way to be at peace with them. I am sorry Ken, but it's my purpose to kill your father,"
Everyone got sad after hearing that
Ken approaches Yonezu and says
"That's quite unfortunate, but to kill him you need to find him first. So when we do this, I just want answers, then you can do anything you want"
"So you are not going to defend him?" says Yonezu surprised
"Until the contrary argument, I am with you,"
Right after that everyone in the restaurant started cheering for them. They forgot they are still at the restaurant and they didn't notice that right after Ken started explaining his backstory, complete silence fell upon the restaurant so everyone was listening to the story.
"YOU GOT IT, KIDS!"
"YEA GOOD LUCK"
Yonezu and Ken were looking at them smiling,
"So what's our next destination?"
"The top of the ladder!" Says Ken and looks at his team
They exit the restaurant and Ken says to everyone
"We need to start ranking, if we want to get to our goal we can't stay here for the eternity"
"Now that I think of it, You said you came to this island by boat, doesn't that mean that all the world is connected somehow," Says Inazuke
"It is probably protected by some sort of a barrier, most likely that thunder strike, I don't know about you, but I don't want to bet my life to a 50/50." Says Yonezu
"Then tomorrow, we play ranked again, we need to leave this place!" says Ken very confident,
Soma step in front of all of them and say with a serious face
"It's showtime,"
And so they did that, every day, after they completed their quests, they were also playing ranked matches of Climbing Isles. They were rocking the matches, they improved so much that they were actually winning more than losing. They had around an 80% win rate. And everyone got an equal piece of the action. Even tho they had reserve players for only the support and the marksmen, all of them still played an equal amount of matches by doing some weird team composition. Somewhere around Yonezu playing the forest role, Ken going on the top battlefield when the respective players were not playing,
A day after their match, they open their stats menu and see
"We only need one match to rank up," says Ken
"We had quite a journey to get here didn't we," Says, Lisa
'Yes, And this only the begging" says Ken confident
"Who is playing tomorrow?"
"Of course the OG team is playing, there is no argument to that, and also as much as I don't want to admit it, you have a better experience than us," Says Inaba
So all that night they trained hard, Thye all fought each other until the morning came.
"Aren't we supposed to be rested for the match?" says Inazuke
"I don't know how you feel, but I am not tired at all, I am more pumped up than ever," Says Tamura
"Indeed," says the rest of them
And they went to the Climbing Isles registration point to search for a match,
There they met with Inaba and Lisa
"Hey, what are you doing here" Ask Ken after seeing them
"We came to see you, you weren't thinking we will lose the last match, didn't you"
"Oh so the original team is playing, what a lovely thing to hear" Some random dude that had behind a team that was wearing the same outfit comes to them and say that
"And you are?" Says Inazuke looking at them
"Our individual names don't matter, but you might remember... "Discrete Whirlwind" do you?" says the guy while having a big smile on the face
"Perhaps..." says Ken
"It's whatever, you will remember after you will lose to us," Says another guy
"Hold up, how do you even know you will be versus us?" says Soma
"The guild master especially arranged that for us," Says the front guy and approaches Yonezu
Yonezu was taller but the guy was still cocky and confident
"You are my lane opponent, In your place, I will not even leave the base,"
Yonezu just looks at him and says
"What, you are going to get kills out of me? Good luck with that,"
"The problem will be, how are you going to use that to your advantage,"
The other guy that was behind him was looking at Ken and Tamura, he said
"The guild master put me versus you two on the bottom battlefield. Good luck dash boys,"
Ken looks at them angrily
"Look like our match is ready, don't piss your pants before we beat you," says the front guy and leaves
"What's their problem," says Lisa
"Their problem? It gonna be ME!" Says Ken that was smiling at them
They enter the match and we see the cocky dude from before walking to his battlefield, it was on the middle one
"My passive will not let him leave the battlefield, he will not be able to use his passive to go anywhere to make some easy kills. NOW FACE ME, YONEZU!" The guy was speaking to himself while walking to the battlefield
He saw a figure in the distance and started smiling but his smile was quickly changed into a confused face. The one that was approaching the same battlefield, was not Yonezu, It was Ken
He got really angry, it looked like one of his veins is going to explode
"Ken! what the hell are you doing here?"
"Outsmarting your outsmarting," says Ken smiling,
