Chapter 20 - They Meet Again

It was already night when Xayne decided to go early to the Eastside where he and his two friends were going to meet. He is a little bit excited since tonight is the second time that he will go to have fun with them.
Xayne received a message from Miguel that he and Carl already arrived at the Eastside. He thought that the two were also excited because it is still too early. He went outside of his car while playing with the keys in his hand. The place changed so much since it became so loud.
When he passed by the main door, a woman in a hurry bumped into him and almost fell to the ground. Luckily he immediately caught and embraced her. He looked down to see who was the reckless woman running towards the bar but he failed to recognize her since she was wearing a red mask that was hiding her face.
He felt the woman tremble when he looked into her eyes but she did not speak so he asked if she was okay but the woman only nodded her head and slightly pushed him away. Xayne felt a sense of familiarity when the mysterious woman runs away.
He wanted to ask her because deep in his heart he knew her but he cannot recognize her. He wanted to know her so he tried to approach the woman who left.
"A-are you..." He was about to ask the woman but he was immediately stopped by a hand that pats his shoulder. He turned his head to see the owner of the hand and saw Carl's smiling face.
"Xayne, where are you going? The table is ready and we are tired of waiting" Carl asked when he noticed that Xayne was looking at the other side. He looked in the direction where Xayne was looking but he saw nothing.
"N-nothing" Xayne answered and went to their table.
Xayne greets Miguel the moment he sits at their place. Some drinks were already served on the table and the other people were busy with their drinks, some are having a good time listening to the music and grooving in the middle of the dance floor. It was so noisy but the three of them were just having fun with their reunion.
"Xayne, what is your plan in the country? are you going back abroad?" Miguel asked while drinking his drinks.
"Well... I think I will stay here for the family business since my grandfather died, my family expects that I will help my dad with our business and inherit our company in the future" Xayne answered.
"How about your brother?"
"I think he will still pursue his science thing, you know my brother. He never let anyone influence him except our mom"
The three of them were busy talking about each other stuff when two sexy girls approached them for talks and to have fun. While Carl became excited, Xayne sneered and glared at the two women in front of them who wears revealing clothes. Everyone on their table noticed Xayne's reaction so Carl immediately stood up and guide the two women to the dance floor.
"I think, I will be having fun with the two ladies for a moment," Carl said and pulled the ladies away before his friend did something unpleasant to them.
"Did he not want us?" one of the ladies said, disappointed by what Xayne had just done.
Carl chuckled and explained that his friend, Xayne, is not good at handling women but the truth is he knows that Xayne was just avoiding women to protect himself since his past for women is not good. Carl heaved a sigh when the two women nodded and continued having fun with him alone.
"Do you still have any intention of marrying?" Miguel asked Xayne looking at him seriously. Now that there is no one bothering them they can continue talking about their interest and personal matters.
"I do not know, maybe yes or no... I am not sure, really" Xayne answered honestly before drinking his bottle. He is not sure if she can find a woman who will never betray him like in his past relationship. He already had enough from his past "How about you? Do you want to get married in the future? I haven't heard any of your love life from Carl"
Miguel smiled and shook his head.
"Of course, I want to get married and have a peaceful family someday in the future. However, it is complicated, because the woman I like is already engaged with someone else" Miguel said while thinking deeply. Xayned cannot guess what his friend was thinking and he was curious about the woman that Miguel likes.
"Then... why don't you snatch her away?" Xayne suggests a ridiculous idea but he got a point. Miguel can stop her wedding easily if he wants but he knows that the woman he likes will never like him back.
"It is easy to say that but we know that it is hard to do. I liked her before but she already has someone she likes so I decided to like her secretly. However, when they broke up and she decided to marry someone... I realize that I was stupid before. I did not snatch her when I had a chance. Now, I am having a hard time how to deal with her. She was near yet it felt like she was so far" although Miguel smiled, Xayne knew that his friend was sad and lonely.
Miguel never opened up about a topic like this before.
They continued talking until Carl arrived at their table with another bottle of drinks while smiling at them. He looks like he was in a hurry.
"Hey, why don't we move to another bar?" Carl said and pat both of their shoulders.
"Why so early? We are still enjoying our drinks here" Xayne asked, confused by Carl's reaction.
Carl signal Miguel about something. Miguel immediately understands what Carl meant. They should drive Xayne away from this bar, especially at a time like this.
"A-ah! his right Xayne, I think we should go since we already have enough drinks I think we should try the other drinks at the other bar" Miguel stood up and encouraged Xayne to listen to them but Xayne noticed their behavior and sensed that they were hiding something to him.
He looked at them seriously but the two of them only smiled at him. Miguel and Carl were acting suspiciously ever since he decided to celebrate here on the eastside. Xayne thought for a moment of the possible reason why the two were lying to him but he cannot think of something,
"Seriously, what is wrong with the two of you--" Xayne did not finish his words when the lights started to change direction.
It gets darker for ten seconds and when the spotlights switch on, it stops from the middle of the stage where a woman in a red bikini is standing in front of everyone. She was wearing a mask while revealing her porcelain skin. Xayne recognizes her immediately. She was the woman who bumped into him before at the entrance.
So she is a performer. Xayne thought.
"Ah, Xayne I think we should go," Carl said but Xayne did not listen to him and continued watching the woman in front of his eyes. She was familiar to him.
When the music started to play the women also started to dance slowly. Every man inside who was watching her was drawn by her body and movement until the mask accidentally fell off. Xayne's eyes widen the moment he recognizes her face.
How could he forget her? She was the woman who he left for Alodia, she is Julie.
