The Seer.
"Would you like this?" Sylvia asked a bird as she held it with her small hands.
Her father had always said she was a different being as it was something strange for a wolf to befriend creatures in her land.
She had just liked them since birth. Especially birds that her dad kills with just a jump.
She would pity these creatures and go as far as treating their wounds when they get sick. Others called her weirdo.
She's the daughter of the Alpha and she was on her way to becoming a Luna. Her father was always worried her kindness will be a hindrance.
'You have to be strict and disciplined to avoid disregard from your pack members' Her father would always say to her.
Her mother on the other hand will mock her father's words and they would laugh together.
This made her never ashamed when she openly announced that her mother was her favorite.
She's very beautiful and she developed very fast. Everyone was aware of how fast human wolves grew but hers was faster.
The pack members were surprised and claimed it was a sign from the moon goddess that she would be a great Luna.
Her mother had always been proud of her and she was very fast at learning.
At 10, She already had the curves suitable for a 15-year-old lady.
Many guys stared at her but they dared not to approach her or touch her because aside from the fact that she's the Alpha's daughter and the Upcoming Luna, She was also a very great warrior.
Everything suddenly changed when a seer came into their pack. The seer was called upon to check her future, they wanted to confirm if she would make a great Luna.
Her parents had thought it wasn't necessary as they all were aware of how talented and capable she was.
'You're a special wolf, Sylvia' her mother would say while patting her hair and after a sword fight with her father, he'll always remind her of how good she was and how proud he had been to be her father.
She had lived a happy life, Everyone envied her and they all wished to be close to her, to learn from her, and be good like her.
The seer had checked her and what he said changed the perspective of people about her.
'She isn't born to lead this pack ' he began 'She is born to lead another pack ' he said.
Those that hated her mocked her parents. ' She will leave us alone and lead her pack ' They said and Sylvia didn't know what to do.
She didn't understand for years what the seer meant by that. She didn't understand why she will leave the Red Moon pack and lead another pack.
She didn't understand why she'll abandon them and be a Luna without them.
She wondered if she will turn her back on them she wondered if she'll turn her back on her parents also.
Her mother always told her not to get affected by what the seer said. He might possess the power to read the future but no one is as powerful as the moon goddess.
You're a special female wolf, remember? The moon goddess chose you and this is proof of that 'The light of the moon had shone on her head during a full moon. Everyone marveled at the sight of it and was more shocked when they saw the white streak in her full, brown hair.
'You're the chosen one' her mother said 'I trust you and I know you wouldn't abandon the pack, you will rule us Sylvia and you'll do it very well because I will be there '.
Sylvia had pretended that her worries had reduced when deep down, her fears were still there.
She still questioned herself and her fears were very hard to hide from her father.
Her father was a great alpha. Respected and recognized by many packs. Her father was a great leader and she respected him a lot.
He told her to ignore the words of a seer as he could also be a con. Sylvia had been trained since childhood to not ignore the words of any wolf.
They were her pack members and will only guide her as everything she will do will be for the benefit of the pack.
Sylvia went to the seer to ask him for further details. He wasn't allowed to complete his readings, they had accused him of telling lies and chased him away.
But,
...
Sylvia couldn't just disregard his words.
She eloped when no one was watching her. She got into the woods to visit the seer.
It had been a dangerous journey as they had a lot of enemies waiting for the right time to attack.
But ...
Sylvia was capable of handling danger.
She met the seer and he was undoubtedly shocked by her prescence.
He had questioned why she visited him, had inquired about her guarantee of safety when enemies lurked around them.
He had asked if her parents consented to her visit, had asked her to leave before she got him into more danger.
' you wouldn't push me Sirus , because you wouldn't defy the authority of a chosen Luna ' she had threatened.
He was rendered helpless, he couldn't defy her authority as she was extremely powerful, and though she hadn't gotten that power yet, she was already chosen.
She asked him to read it again, to check it again, to tell her what the future meant.
She wanted to confirm if it was true, she wanted to confirm if it was just sham...it bothered her.
He read it and it was same result, she wouldn't lead the pack. She wouldn't have the opportunity to lead the pack but will lead a great pack.
Sylvia asked him why she wouldn't be able to lead the pack and he told her he was only limited to seeing some things and the reason behind it was part of the things he was limited to see.
She had asked him to see more and according to him, the very first time she'll change ...her parents wouldn't be there.
She wondered if they traveled when she felt something.
It was strange and the last thing the man told her before she left was that ' She was a special child, a strong child and would make an awesome Luna '.
She had felt strange for the first time so she had to check it out.
She ran back home in her human form. She couldn't change yet.
She sighted flames and when she got closer ....she realized their territory had been trashed.
Flames enveloped the environment and full wolves were lying on the floor, breathless.
She groaned the more when she found the lifeless body of her parents.
The words of the seer came back to her 'You wouldn't have the opportunity to lead the pack '.
It then dawned on her that she had had it all wrong.
Her fears had been wrong. She had been scared she'll abandon the pack in the future but she wouldn't do that.
Because
....
The pack didn't exist anymore.
They abandoned her and she was now a lone wolf.
