ALEXANDER The chief was seated by his table when I walked in. His brows rose, amusement dancing in his eyes as he took me in. I could see the curiosity in his gaze as he followed me with watchful eyes. I placed the expensive bottle of wine I got on his table and watched as he glanced at it then back at my face. “To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?” he drawled. “You’ve never come to visit me before.” I shrugged, taking the empty seat opposite him. “I figured it was time for a visit. I came bearing gifts.” “Gifts?” he asked and I nodded. “There’s a crate of wine down in my car, and I heard that you’re a fan of baseball games.
