Chapter 18

1086 Words
I stayed at home for a week, but I know I need to get up and go to school or my grades will drop. So I stood up and took a shower, being careful about my leg and wrist from getting wet. I'm lucky I'm still alive with my broken wrist and leg, also with the five stitches on my head, the good thing is that they didn't shave my head, only cut it until it's past my shoulders. New look, new me, right? Wrong. I'll admit, I look better with short hair but I'm not used to it, my head feels lighter so it really is new to me. I'm still thinking why am I still alive? If this happened to someone they're supposed to be dead at the spot. I mean, five stitches in the head? Can someone even survive that? I think, but I guess you can survive it because I lived through it. I carefully combed my hair, making sure that the teeth of the comb doesn't touch my stitches, I fixed my hair and changed into a long blue maxi skirt and a white crop top. Wearing white flats, I got my bag and dragged it along with me downstairs where Sophia's watching TV in the living room. "What are you doing here?" I ask her and she grins, "I skip first period because I don't want to go in that hell hole without you, mom will kill me if she sees me skipping so I'm here." she said pointing at herself. I nod, walking/limping to the garage but Sophia was fast to stop me, "You're not driving in that condition." she scoffs while helping me outside where her car is. At least her mom let her have it, She opened the passenger door for me and I rolled my eyes, feigning pleasure, "At least you have manners." I said smirking and she frowned at me, "Whatever." She closed the car's door and got in her side, she started driving and I grinned at her irritated look. At least getting her riled up gives me pleasure, what's her problem anyway? Time of the month? When we got to school Sean is already standing there, waiting. I got out and ignored him, walking to the front doors, I can feel him following me but I still ignore him. I don't want to get irritated this early. I went to my locker and got my things, at the corner of my eye I see Luke walking towards me so I face him when he got close. "Hey," he greets and I nod, "Hi," "Heard about the accident," he started and I nod again, "Yeah." "Good to see you're alright." he smiles and I nod, "You're not angry at me?" I ask, raising my eyebrows. I'm really surprised that he's talking to me now. "Yeah... I wasn't really angry, Amanda was and if I talk to you she'll skin me alive." he chuckled and I closed my locker, slinging my bag on my shoulder, "Mkay, bye." I said waving and walking/waddling past him. I'm in no mood to talk to Amanda's blood relative. When me and Amanda were friends, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, waaaaaaaaaay back, I didn't know she had a brother but now, why would I care, anyway? He held on to my wrist and I looked at him irritated, tingles run up my arm but it only made me more irritated so I pulled my wrist away, "What now?" I sigh and he scratches the back of his neck embarrassed. Before he could even speak, Sean cuts in and pushed Luke lightly away, "Move it." he mutters lowly but he just stood there in the middle of us. I raised my head and glared at him, I should have worn heels so I don't have to look up at his tall frame. "You move it," I snap and he ignores me, facing Luke, "Stop touching her." he says before pulling me to who knows where. It was weird because warmth is all I feel and I don't like it. When I'm with Luke it's tingles now with Sean it's warmth. Am I going crazy or what? Maybe it's the side effects of getting into an accident. How do I know? I'm not a doctor. "Stop talking to him, okay? Just stop." he mutters before disappearing, I roll my eyes and turned around heading to class. Where is Sophia, anyway? * * * * * I sat at the top of the bleachers, silently eating, why am I alone? Well, Sophia pulled my outside to only third wheel on her and Jax. Not cool. Guys, if you have a boyfriend, please, don't let your best friend third wheel, you're making them hate you. I grabbed my bag and dragged it with me, walking out on Jax and Sophia who're arguing about food. Fight all you want, I'm leaving. When I stepped foot inside school Luke suddenly stepped in front of me that I silently groaned. I don't want to talk to anyone right now. "Jade, listen," he started and I raised an eyebrow nodding. "I just want to ask you out-" "She can't." Sean appeared, placing an arm around my shoulder. Is this f*cking a magic show?! Why is everybody just coming out from thin air? "Who are you her dad?" Luke sneers and Sean glares at him, "I'm not but I am protecting her." he retorts, removing the arm and steps closer to Luke. "She's not a little kid," Luke shakes his head and I would nod if I'm not watching this like a movie, "No sh1t, Sherlock." Sean rolls his eyes and Luke holds on to Sean's collar and pulls him close. Uh, oh. "Say that again, Asshole." Luke growls and my eyes-widen, but I'm not shocked, I'm happy. Finally, Sean can get his ass kicked. I placed my bag down and sat Indian style on the floor, watching their fight. I should've brought food, I thought. Sean holds on to Luke's collar and stares him in the eye, "Do what you want to do, I dare you." Sean says lowly that it gave me goosebumps. Luke's hold loosened and his arms went lip beside him, Sean pushed him away that Luke lied on the floor, "Don't test me, Luke, or so help me my face is the last thing you see before you die." Sean threatens and pulls me up, taking my bag and pulling me past Luke who stayed there. What the?
