The following day isn't much eventful like yesterday, Luke was nowhere to be seen and I ignored Sean like the plague, after dragging me like a doll yesterday does he think I would think everything is peachy and great?
Think again, I'm not a rag doll, for his information.
I'm helping with the journalism club after classes, we're printing out a new issue but my article about the werewolf will be still in the newspaper, since we published the article I've been the new buzz of the school and we think that our newspaper would still spark interest with the article of the werewolf.
"Hey, Jade, can you get a stack of paper at the storage room?" the editor-in-chief asked and I nodded walking out of the room and to the hallway, heading straight for the storage room where the door is being held open by a chair.
I moved the chair out of the way and went inside, Sean stared at me and blinked before exclaiming: "Don't remove the chair." but it was too late, the door slammed shut loudly.
"What?" I ask and he sighed, running a hand through his hair, "The lock of the door is broken, we can't get out." he told me and I stood their dumbfounded before turning around and slamming my fists on the door.
"Get me out of here!" I yell at the top of my lungs, "No one's going to hear you until they're in front of the door." Sean comments and I sigh, turning around and sitting down on the floor, leaning my back against the door.
I took out my phone and decided to text the editor-in-chief when I remembered that I don't have his number.
I would just text Sophia.
To: Sophia
Come at school, I'm locked inside the storage room, Help. SOS.
"Someone's getting me out of here." I muttered to Sean but I mostly muttered it to myself, I don't know if Sophia would read my text or what.
Sean grinned at me and sat down on the ground, "So twenty questions?" he suggested and I rolled my eyes at his childishness, "No."
I didn't know how he got me to play but he can get pushy.
"Do you like Luke?" - "No."
"Where did you go when you left," - "L.A."
"Why are you in the journalism club?" - "I want to get into a great college to pursue photography."
"Why did you leave?" I asked, I couldn't stop myself I just suddenly blurted it out, the question in the back of my mind since he left.
Before he could retort something I shook my head, "You know what, don't answer that." I said standing up and banging my fists on the door.
He placed a hand on my shoulder and spun me around, "Because it was the best." he murmured to me and I glared at him, "What's best?" I spat, pushing him away from me.
"Please, just listen." he said pleading with his eyes, I gave in.
"Fine."
I sat down, leaning my back against the door and he still stood but backed away so he can look at me, "When, you saw me and Amanda, I was kissing her but she kissed me and I was in shock and was about to push her away when you came in." he explained.
Oh.
"This is so f*cked up," I whisper and he nodded.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" I ask, "Because you didn't give me a chance to."
I stood up and jabbed a finger at his chest, "Yeah, because I was angry at the time. I know you should've given me space, that was the right thing to do but not leave me hanging by a cliff hanger. The only thing that I thought that happened is my boyfriend and best friend cheating on me behind my back, cliche right? But some days I was hoping that you would come in and sweep me off my feet, tell me everything was a misunderstanding, but you didn't.
And everything that I ever believe, happy endings, true love was utter and complete bullshit. What hurts most is that you, the boy who has been with me in my downfall easily gave up, you left, without telling me or who didn't even try to apologize. You left, it hurt so damn much.
We were always there for each other, we trusted each other, we've been there in our downfalls. It hurt because you were the one I trusted most and you were the one who stabbed me in the back."
I was crying, he was crying.
But I'm breaking, again.
I've been building up myself since the day he left, I fixed myself piece by piece with the help of Sophia. I built myself to who I am today, I was the girl you pushed around then, the nerdy girl that every parent would want, the girl that always looked at life positively but because of my greatest downfall, I just broke.
I wasn't who I am in the past but I am who I am now.
"I'm sorry, I thought it was best... to leave. I thought you hated me." he said, holding onto my face, brushing away the tears with his thumb, I looked at him with blurry eyes.
"I didn't hate you then, but I hate you now." I mumbled and a pained expression crossed through his features.
"Please, Emily, give me a chance. I would make up to you for the years I didn't. " he told me, I shook my head.
"You thought it was best to leave after what you did, you didn't think what I would think if you leave. When you left, I thought everything that my eyes saw is true, it hurt, because I loved you at the time." I told him truthfully and he place a hand behind my neck and hugged me.
"I'm so sorry," he whispered, I clutched his shirt in my hands, my cheek pressed against his chest.
"Let me make it up to you, Please, Emily. I still love you." he told me and my heart broke, again.
I thought that I don't even have a heart after my downfall.
He's my downfall.
"You know what hurts most?" I ask him, "What?"
"It's that I still love you."
