Chapter 3

"Hello there, Kramer." A familiar voice said as he placed a hand on my shoulder.   When I looked up, I saw a platinum-blonde guy with piercing blue eyes, smirking down at me.   It was Levi, my all-time nemesis.   "I didn't think you'd recognize me with my new getup." I mumbled more to myself.   "Are you kidding me? All you did was put on some glasses. I recognized you right away with the snapback and the poker face. I'm not stupid, Kramer." He said.   I quickly removed his hand from my shoulder.   "Please get back to your seat, Mr. Lincoln." I could hear the fear in the teacher's voice.   I bet it takes guts to order the son of the school's owner around.   "You and me. Soccer field. End of the day." He whispered on my ear right before walking out of the room.   "I thought you looked familiar." I heard Jace say.   Boy, do I smell trouble.   ******   At lunch, I couldn't find anyone familiar to sit with, not even my step siblings so I just sat all by myself while listening to the 'All By Myself' song.   I miss my old school already where everyone would either cower in fear or worship me.   Just then, my phone rang.   "What is it?" I answered Dylan's call.   "Just checking up on you." He says.   "Think you could come have lunch with us?" I figured that Cody snatched the phone away.   "I don't know... Roosevelt High seems a bit far." I sighed.   "Seriously? What school are you in?" Cody asked.   "You wouldn't believe it if I told you. I'm in Lincoln High right now."   "No way! Wait, that's just right across Roosevelt High. What's so far about that?"   "You know I hate walking." I played with my food.   "Yeah, I miss carrying you around on my back." Cody reminisced.   "What the hell, dude? Stop flirting! I want to talk to her!" I heard Evan complain on the other end.   "You guys just give me my phone back!" It was Dylan's voice.   I could hear them tackling over the phone and then nothing.   "Hello?" So much for checking up on me.   "You look like you could use a friend." Mason sat down beside me.   "Or a manly boyfriend who could protect you." Caleb whispered on my ear which made me shiver out of shock.   "I don't need any of those." I glared at Levi's minions.   Had a crush at Mason once but the minute I found out that he goes to Lincoln High, the crush died.   *FLASHBACK*   "Whoa, he's cute." I spotted a tall, green-haired fellow with sky-blue eyes who flashed me a smile as he walked passed us.   "He goes to Lincoln High." Cody pointed out.   "Never mind." I seldom find a boy that I like and when I did, it only lasted for no more than a minute.   *END OF FLASHBACK*   Caleb's the flirt with blue eyes and lots of tattoos. He wears his black hair up. Real fitting for a delinquent such as himself.   Players annoy me for some reason.   "I don't think your leader would like it if he found out that you two are talking to me in public." I pointed out.   "He doesn't do 'lunch' so we're safe for now." Mason smiled.   "Next time, we'll have to approach you in private then." Caleb winked.   Okay, now I officially lost my appetite.   "What do you want?"   "Just reminding you about the soccer field later." Caleb said.   "And welcome to Lincoln High by the way." Mason added before the two of them finally left me alone.   I'm surprised we didn't end up strangling each other on the floor. I'm getting good at this 'self-control' thing.   ******   "So how was your first day of school?" Ed asked me at dinnertime.   "No death threats yet so I guess it was fine." I answered honestly.   Ed and Landon burst out laughing at what I just said.   Malcolm paid me no attention just because he's oh so perfect.   "She's funny, this one." Ed sounded rather amused.   "Did you make any friends?" Mom asked.   "Nope." And I don't plan to.   "Not even a single female friend?" Mom pressed.   "Look, to be honest, all the girls there look at me like I'm a lesbian or something." I rolled my eyes.   "And you're not?" Mom stared at my boyish clothes.   "No."   For a moment, I thought I saw Malcolm trying to hide a smile but I may be wrong. Tsk.
