Chapter 19: Reckoning
The warehouse was in ruins, the flames finally extinguished. Prisca and her friends stood outside, surveying the damage. The once-abandoned building was now a charred skeleton, a testament to the destruction Victor had unleashed.
"It's over," Dynamite said, his voice weary. "Victor's plan is foiled, and he's gone."
But Prisca knew it wasn't that simple. The consequences of Victor's actions would be far-reaching, and she knew she had to face them head-on. She thought about all the people whose lives had been affected by Victor's scheme, all the families torn apart, all the innocent lives lost.
"Luna, are you okay?" Prisca asked, turning to her sister.
Luna nodded, her eyes still haunted. "I'll be fine, Prisca. I just need time."
Prisca nodded, knowing that Luna's journey to recovery would be long and difficult. She had been under Victor's control for so long, forced to do his bidding. Prisca couldn't imagine what she had gone through.
Agent Thompson approached them, his expression grim. "We've found evidence of Victor's wrongdoings, but we need your help to bring him to justice."
Prisca nodded, knowing what she had to do. "I'll cooperate fully. But I want one thing in return."
Thompson raised an eyebrow. "What's that?"
Prisca's eyes locked onto his. "I want to be the one to bring Victor in. When he's found, I want to be the one to face him."
Thompson nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Deal. But Prisca, you have to understand, Victor is a dangerous man. He won't go down without a fight."
Prisca's jaw clenched. "I'm not afraid of him. I've been afraid for too long. It's time for him to face the consequences of his actions."
And with that, Prisca knew that the final reckoning was yet to come. She would face Victor one last time, and only then would she be able to find closure.
