Tatiana and Noah prepared themselves to leave.
“We’ll go now. Thank you for your time.” Noah said, coldly.
Mia and Kai also stood up.
“The pleasure is ours, your highness,” Kai replied. “Ah, I almost forgot. Please have these, your highness.”
Kai signaled Mia. The latter then offered two envelopes to Noah.
Noah accepted it, a bit confused.
“What are these?” he asked.
“The first one is for tomorrow. The second one… well, consider it as my gift for you, your highness.” Kai said.
Noah frowned under his hood but he didn’t say anything more.
He placed his hand on Tatiana’s back and led her out of the office. Kai and Mia could only follow them with their gaze.
Once they got into the carriage, Tatiana and Noah removed their hoods.
“Well… that went well,” Tatiana mumbled under her breath.
Noah looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
“Why? Were you hoping for something else?” he asked, teasingly.
“No, of course not, your highness. I’m just saying.” She answered and averted her gaze.
Noah only grinned before looking down at the envelopes that Kai gave. He opened the first one and read its contents.
The first document was all about Baron Miller and Gresley’s involvement in the bombing incident. Compared to the first one that Investor J gave before, this document is more organized and detailed.
I see… He wants me to use this for the court trial tomorrow. I’m impressed. Noah thought to himself.
He placed the documents back into the envelope and set them beside him on the chair. He then examined the second envelope that Investor J had given him.
Noah’s brows furrowed as he inspected the envelope.
Kai said it was a gift for him. But what did he mean by ‘gift’ and why would he give Noah one?
Noah opened the envelope, still perplexed. However, the more he read the contents, the more he became confused.
Why would he give me this?
The documents contain a detailed report about one of the businesses Investor J invested in.
Currently, Investor J had invested in four small businesses. All of them became known after a week, and even until now, they are flourishing quite well. Apart from the capital, the four businesses are all unique and are located in the empire's four major regions: North, South, East, and West. The first one sells medicinal herbs, the second one sells perfumes, the third is a bakery, and the fourth is a blacksmith shop.
No one knows why Investor J invested in those kinds of businesses. However, after they started to flourish, several others wanted to enter those kinds of businesses as well, hoping that Investor J will also invest in them.
Anyhow, the documents that Noah holds contain a report about the business that sells medicinal herbs. This business was owned by a man named Martin.
Martin is a commoner in the South. Due to his humble birth and lack of resources, his business was unpopular even to other commoners.
Moreover, the South is rich in herbs. As a result, businesses that sell medicinal herbs can be found all over the place. This just means that there’s a tight competition for selling medicinal herbs in the South.
When Alfred Rogers approached him as Investor J's proxy, Martin was already on the verge of bankruptcy. Martin was skeptical at first, but he still accepted Alfred’s offer since he was already desperate. It was, however, a great thing he did since it spared him and his family from starvation.
In the documents, the details of how Investor J assisted Martin’s business were also stated. The resources, techniques, and even other business tips were included in the report.
As he read, Noah couldn’t help but be amazed at the uniqueness of the business strategies that Investor J gave. It was indeed different and not known in this world.
I wonder how Investor J thought of all this. Now, I understand why he’s now the most sought-after businessman in the empire.
Noah continued to read through the documents. Of course, at the back of his mind, he was still confused why Investor J gave him such a thing. He figured Investor J must be trying to tell him something. However, he still has no idea what that something is.
He’s too mysterious for his own good. Noah pointed in his mind.
He put that thought aside and focused on reading. However, as he was going through the last file, a paragraph at the bottom part caught his attention.
He frowned.
