chapter 4

Axel’s pov

After I hung up on Simmon I hollered for Stevens to come and to bring the others. Once they walked into my office I had motioned for them to sit on the sofa.

“I have talked to elder Simmon and he has informed me that they are not doing anything about Slade. So I have declared war on Slade and anyone who tries to stop us.”

I looked at each one of them and they nodded their approval.

“Get the warriors ready and have everyone meet me out front.”

I watched as they left and I gathered my bearings then headed outside. Once I reached the steps I looked over my pack members.

“ I am not going to let any more innocent wolves hurt my Slade any longer! I have declared war on Slade’s pack and I have informed an Elder of this, I have also informed him that if anyone is to interfere with this that they have initiated a war against us. I know we are the strongest pack to ever exist and I know you all will not let me down! If anyone thinks that this is inappropriate please speak up now and I will willingly allow you to leave this pack and join another.”

Once I was done announcing my speech, I looked between all of my members and not one had come forward to be let go from the pack. I breathed out and then hitched when I saw someone step forward. He Knelt on the ground and looked up at me. He then stated that no one is against this and that they are all willing to go to war with me. I smiled at him then looked up and belted out, TO WAR! We all shifted into our wolves and I ran down the path they made for me. One by one they all started to follow my lead with only one plan and that is heading straight for Slade.

Tala’s pov

After we got back to our so-called home Alpa Slade seemed to be in a really bad mood. Most likely from my behavior when I tried to resist killing that other wolf. Which I know is going to be bad for me, he likes to knock my cage around with me in it but for some reason he had them take me out of the cage and chain me to a wall. When he finally entered the room I was shaking in fear as I looked at him coming towards me. He started taking his clothes off and shifted, he growled at me before attacking. I couldn’t get away from him, the only thing I could do was summit and hope he doesn’t kill me after he was done venting out his anger. When he was finally done tearing into me, he shifted back and looked down at me. Growled out something along the lines of don't go against him again. I couldn’t quite hear him as I kept fading in and out of consciousness.

I woke up some time after and of course I am already back in my cage. I laid my head on my paws whimpering because of all the pain, blood was oozing out of my mouth but I couldn’t wipe it off, that required being able to use my arms. So I just let out a deep breath of air and laid there. I somehow managed to go back to sleep hoping that would ease up the pain I felt.

I was woken up by screams coming from upstairs, I was scared it was Alpha Slade attacking his own pack members again. I mean again because he is like that if someone disobeys he hurts them badly some even die from his beatings. I can hear people moving around quickly, A few more screams resonated and the basement door flew open, slamming into the wall behind it with a loud smacking sound. I immediately started growling. A man stomped down the steps and towards me, once he saw me in the cage he ran back up the steps. I c****d my head to the side wondering why he ran from me? I’m in a cage and I can't do anything to him. But then I started wondering why I didn’t remember seeing his face.

While I was pondering this, that same man was running down the steps coming towards me, but this time he wasn’t alone. I started to growl warning them to not advance. Thankfully after the growl they had stopped getting closer to me, This action made me c**k my head to the side again as if I’m trying to ask why. The one that brought the other with him kneel down in front of my cage. Instinctively I started trying to snap out at him. I was acting like a wild wolf that had been caught by hunters, I was snarling so fiercely, that I ended up knocking my cage over. Big mistake on my part because now I’m positioned awkwardly and I’ve got these two complete strangers staring at me. I looked up to see their faces and was shocked to the core. One of the men standing there is the same man that was at the pits watching my fight. Unknowingly my body started to tremble, I watched with fear in my eyes at the two men standing there. I tried to cower into the corner when one of them approached, not like I could get very far anyways, but when he saw my reaction he had stopped in his tracks while staring at me.

“Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you.”

I watched as he leaned in closer to my cage and unlocked the door.

“Come on, Come out it's okay.” He repeatedly said

I sat there in the cage as still as I could possibly be and watched as he kept trying to coax me to come out. I am no fool I will not step out of this cage. I know what would happen if I step out without being permitted by Alpha Slade.

~flashback~

“Come on, come out of there you damn dog.” a little boy had said to me when I had spent my first month inside my cage. He had coaxed me to come out of it.

Five minutes had passed and the boy was petting my fur when we both startled as a door was slammed shut. Alpha Slade had walked down the steps and seen the boy petting me while I laid my head on his lap. I jumped up as he stormed over to us and kicked the living hell out of me. The boy cried to the Alpha to stop and next thing I knew the Alpha had snapped the boy's neck.

“Look at what you make me do! You made me kill my own son because he touched your filth!” he screamed at me while starting up my punishment. After what felt like days I was thrown back into the cage and from then on I have not stepped outside the door of my confinement unless Alpha Slade made me leave it.”

~end of flashback~

I jumped a little bit when I heard someone gasp out loud. I looked over and saw a girl now standing with the other two men. I c****d my head to the side when she knelt on the ground with tears in her eyes as she stared at me with her mouth open. Why are these people still here? They are going to get me into trouble if Alpha Slade catches them down here. I heard a loud bang from the door and jumped up with a whimper. The girl looked behind her and yelled to stop making so much noise that they were scaring one of the victims.

“Axel what did they do to this poor pup?” the girl asked looking back to who now I know as Axel.

“I don't know Sarah but she looks terrified and quite frankly mistreated. I tried to get her to come out but she won't budge.” he said back to the girl. I just stood there in my nice little cage, the only thing that ever gave me any semblance of safety.
