Mike POV
I barely slept last night, but I feel more rested than ever. Just having her in my arms is a relief. My mind kept wandering about all the stress that she has silently endured, about the possibility of one day waking up and her not being here with me or about the possibility of her disappearing from my life. All of those hunting thoughts kept me up during the night. I managed to doze off for a couple of hours until I felt her stir in my arms.
“You are up, love?” I softly asked in my gruff morning voice. She locked eyes with me and she nodded. “Yes, but I want to cuddle more.” She pouted and I kissed her head once again. I love this woman beyond comprehension. I am sure I could fight against the whole world for her.
