Gabby’s pov.

Yep that’s a problem, I don’t know much about the whole mate bond thing but it’s obvious Joey doesn’t want to be away from mum.

Mum: “Ok I know this isn’t ideal but what if I move in to Joey’s room? Sorry Joey as long as that’s okay with you!! I will come back here in the day time and look after the kids and cook dinner. That way Gabby can have a room and Jake can have his room back.”

Joey: “I like this idea and don’t worry I’ll sleep on the floor until you’re ready for um you know.”

Ok that got a bit uncomfortable.

“Mum’s right it’s not ideal, sorry Joey that didn’t come out right. What I mean is we just got here and things are changing already.”

Joey smiles in understanding. Mum and I go upstairs pack up her clothes and move mine into the spare room. We check on the girls, they are sleeping hugging the bears Jake gave them.

We are standing in front of the pack house.

Alpha Luke: “Good morning everyone we are here to welcome our newest members into our family. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone involved in helping them get settled and making room for them in your homes. Can the new members please repeat after me using your full name I __________ pledge allegiance to The Twilight Moon Pack to abide by the rules, carry out any duties that are required and protect those that can not protect themselves.”

Everyone repeats oath the pack bond saps into place and for the first time I feel like I belong somewhere. All of a sudden an alarm goes off.

Alpha Luke: “Don’t worry it’s a drill so the new members will know what to do when the real thing happens.”

“Jake what do we do?”

Alice: “Come with me I’ll show you where to go, Jake can’t come with us because he has a very important job to do.”

Mum the girls and I follow Alice, as we walk down into the bunker I realise how different this pack really is from what I’m used to. We are not being put down here because the Alpha is pissed at us but because he wants to keep us safe. I look around there are beds, toys for the kids and food. As this was a drill the door wasn’t closed and we left pretty much as soon as we got there.

Luna Molly: “Ok now that’s out of the way we’ve got a party to sort out. Anyone who can help I would appreciate it.”

Mum: “Gabby go help with the party I’ve got the kids. Your a young girl who needs to make friends and have fun.”

I nod my head a bit unsure how to handle this when a girl I vaguely recognise comes over.

Jess: “Hi Gabby are you busy as we could use your help?”

Oh crap what’s her name she was one of the girls that took the kids to the kitchen I think it’s Jess.

“I can come but I don’t know how much help I’ll be.”

For the next few hours I helped put up banners and pump up balloon’s. I haven’t laughed or had so much fun in years. As I make my way back to the house Jake mind links me.

“Hi are you on your way home?”

“Yes.”

“Good meet me at the shops.”

Then he cut off the link. What the heck is going on now.

Ok I’m at the shops but where exactly am I supposed be meeting him? Just as I think about going I see him walking towards me.

“It occurred to me that you don’t have anything to wear to the party so we’re going shopping.”

Uh.

“I don’t need to go shopping I’m sure I could borrow something from Jess or someone.”

He just shook his head and grabbed my hand pulling me into a shop.

Unknown: “Hello my name is Ruth how can I help you.”

“Hello Ruth Gabby needs a dress and shoes for tonight.”

Ruth: “Great, I’ve got a few different designs in your size. Ok young man out you go I’ve got this.”

Jake hands her something.

“I don’t care how much. Gabby I’ll see you later.”

An hour or so later I’ve tried on countless dresses and found one that I love, it’s apparently called a halter neck the top part is such a light purple that it looks white and gets darker the bottom is at my feet and is dark purple. I’ve got sandals that match. Just as I’m leaving the shop.

Rai: “Gabby can you please come to the pack house?”

“Yes I’m on my way.”

“Jake I’ve been asked to go to the pack house.”

“Ok see you soon. Did you get a dress?”

“Yeah.”

I cut the mind link and make my way to the pack house.

I’m in the Alpha Luke’s office.

Rai: “Hi Gabby thank you for coming. We’re trying to decide how to help the ladies in the hospital that are pregnant. If the doctor wakes them up they will be forced to shift which will be dangerous for them and their babies or we can keep them sedated until the babies are a viable age and they are born with help. Then once the mothers have recovered they are woken up and the shift happens. As the one that got them here I thought you could advocate for them.”

I sat there and thought about everything, Rai, Jace, Alpha Luke and Luna Molly waited patiently.

“I think they would like to stay sedated for the sake of their babies, but they should be able to decide for themselves. Is there anyway to wake them up enough to talk to them?”
