Pedro Gómez spent five years in the Philadelphia Police Department. He could have continued to take promotion exams and move up the ranks. He likely would have been a police captain in another twenty years. Yet he wanted something different and decided to apply for the FBI and the DEA. The FBI was looking for someone to work in intelligence, while the DEA wanted people who were willing to relocate and take down drug dealers at home and abroad. Pedro loved working in narcotics and felt like it was a natural fit for him. He accepted a position as an agent in the DEA.
