Chapter thirty six: The Dungeon of Artemis

1182 Words
Silver Cassano, together with his group, Alina, Yohanna, and Jiero, had carefully strolled the forest. When Jiero had managed to put Leandro into unconsciousness, they immediately fled away of the battle scene. One of the rule of the level two is not to kill any player—a funny rule for a kind of killing game this was. As Silver told the others that they had to get away of the place immediately, they all followed. The battle that they had, especially of Alina and Leandro was a big commotion. Everyone would be able to see it. Anyone can be curious at the powers they all had shown. And curiosity leads to more chaos and battles. Silver doesn't want to spend energy just for a senseless fight. This very moment, he doesn't want to meet other players yet. He was glad when Alina and the others had the same feeling just as what he had. The greenery of the forest were seen everywhere—from the vines, to the leaves, to the grasses. Silence had played just in between of the four of them. Silver was filled with thoughts as he look at the surrounding, thinking of what would be the next thing they have to do, after all the sufferings that they've had with this game. On the other hand, Silver does not knew that Alina and Yohanna were still calculating with each other. Alina, from time to time, is looking at Yohanna as she cannot fully trust the woman whose the original partner was the one who attempted to abuse her. Yohanna just kept her head on the ground, however. Her face is blushing. She was awkward with the thought that someone is looking at her with the most awkward stare she could get. She knew that Alina does not fully trust her yet. She then hope, that being awkward and shy at her would be the reason to reflect how trustable she is, and how she would be safe if Alina eases her suspicions. Jiero, which was walking last at the group, was roaming his eyes at the surrounding as well, just like Silver. He was making sure that everything would be fine. That no threat has been positing at the surrounding. The grayness of the surrounding was being displayed at his eyes, amidst knowing that it was all in clear of green. Lines and patterns were all pasted in the whole surrounding, making him calculate each of its distances. Waves kept coming through his ears, making him to calculate possible level of risks and threats in the surrounding. Silver then, stopped in walking. The other had looked at him with confusion. “What's wrong?” asked Alina. “I guess we could take our rest here,” he said. Buy just saying the word rest, Alina and Yohanna felt the tiredness of their body. Especially Alina. She was the one who fought Leandro rigorously, with exchange of such immense power. Her tired body want to lay flat on a soft bed that will surely reap off of the tiredness that was consuming her. However, Jiero advanced at their front. “No, we can't,” he said. All of them looked at her with the expression of confused and disbelief. “What do you mean, Jiero?” Alina asked. “Here safe not. Here surrounding five beasts look us.” Both Silver, Yohanna, and Alina understood what Jiero wants to say. “I—Is it okay if we try killing the beasts so that we could rest here? I am really tired,” asked Yohanna. “I doubt that,” Silver replied. “Remember that pulling our skills made by this game will also mean that we would be pulling monsters and beasts too.” Alina nodded. “I agree. I read it once with the help of Sabertooth's wisdom. Our skill can attract other beasts too. It could drown us from the fact that instead we could rest, we would end up fighting hundred flocks of them, similar with what happened to the Harpies that we fought.” “No,” again, Jiero interfered. “there is more to just beasts.” “What is it, Jiero?” asked Alina to the kid. “Players us is follow. Two.” Silver and Yohanna shared a meaningful stare. Alina saw it, and followed what her instinct were telling—to move her eyes away of them. “Was it Aunt Mathilda and Lukas?” Yohanna asked. “I don't know. Maybe they were. After the game, we were separated with them. I guess that is because to stop and hinder us to chase them from getting the Gorgon's head,” Silver answered. “Th—Then I guess that would be highly not Aunt Mathilda and Lukas.” Silver's brows collided. “What do you mean?” “I . . . I am not sure. But if they already had that mythical item, you won't hesitate to brag it and show it to other players. Th—They might even use it towards us.” Silver nodded. “It makes sense.” Alina, who were just listening to them, had concluded something: Silver and Yohanna felt like having more knowledge of the game than she was, who is a player owning a Sabertooth's wisdom. “Is it Leandro?” Alina asked. “No. Leandro still unconscious,” Jiero told. Silver looked at him and asked, “how can you tell that, young kid?” Jiero looked at one of the trees dancing in the air. He pointed it, and told, “there, player at look.” When they looked at it, Silver figured out that indeed there were two figures of strangers watching them. “Prepare!” he shouted. He immediately equipped his vine whip, the buff items, the vest, the gloves and the shoes that he found useful whenever there is a battle. Alina opened and pulled the strings of her Airbow. She started to gain air pressure in the middle. Both Yohanna and Jiero had the same property of the element. Lightning. But, Yohanna believes she would not be able to use her stellar skill for today's battle. Instead of using the stellar skill, she decided to use the cloud that the Aries' battle set has been producing. Jiero then, wielded his trident spear. He prepared himself as well if ever the player would attack them. But there were another thing that obstructed all of their preparations. The screen that was embedded in their skin were beeping frantically. From the moment they looked at their wrist, they realized that a new hardship is about to start. At the screen, there was a written sentence embedded: Artemis Dungeon detected. As the beeping sound finally stopped, the ground where they were standing at, had suddenly collapsed. It was an unexpected event. An unexpected move—that within a blink of second, they were up above the forest. But now, the underworld was waiting for them. The dungeon was waiting for the new players. The dungeon of Artemis.
