Chapter thirty four: Wrath of Angels and Astaroth's Breath

936 Words
Alina Vandergaugh pulled the string of her Airbow. It hasn’t been any second that passed, and she immediately released it with the Angel's Arrow skill. “Get off of Jiero!” she shouted. She then ran towards where Leandro was standing—smirk was obvious on his face—and to Jiero who cannot believe of what had happened to him. It was all but a trap. Leandro pulled up a very dangerous trick that Jiero did not even notice when he was nearing. The Angel's arrow had severed few of the Devil's thread that appeared at Jiero's body, but it wasn't enough to free him from being restricted. “Ahhhh!” Jiero started screaming. “No!” Alina cannot explain the fear that she was feeling right now. The threads that bounded Jiero's body was tightening more, and being buried in his body. If this continues, Jiero's body will be chopped off. Alina stopped running. She sighed, calming her body. She pulled her Airbow, causing the wind and light to gather in the middle of her weapon, exactly where arrows should have been placed. But she held it, and did not immediately released. She calmed herself more. She let the touch of the wind be felt by her skin. She knew that Leandro would not hesitate to kill Jiero. She feels it. Despite the fact that there would be a punishment for someone who will commit it, she knew (she strongly felt it), that Leandro would not mind having it just for the sense of his pride. ‘Then I would not hesitate to kill you too,’ she thought. Circular lines started to appear below her feet. A symbol of spreading wings was drawn. Strange, unreadable scriptures had surrounded the whole circle of image. Then her eyes glowed in white light. She sighed again. But this time, calmer than what she had done awhile ago; stronger and more certain of her posture. Leandro saw what was happening at Alina. He started to command his Devil's thread to bound her as well, but soon as it touched the light, it evaporated—purged. Alina was maintaining her posture. The circling of wind and light kept on coming at the center of her weapon, continuously enlarging itself as it sucks more energy. “What? Alina!” Leandro shouted. “Why are you attacking your beloved man?!” He cut the Devil's thread in the air, but leaving Jiero still bounded in his body. He came near her figure. He flapped his black wings carefully while the concern and sadness was shown in his face. “I am your owner, right?” he asked. “Psychomaniac,” replied Alina. And, “Skill: Wrath of Angels,” she casted. The front of her weapon had suddenly drew circular symbol similar to what was written at her feet. Only that it is brighter, stronger. As she released the string of her Airbow, insurmountable amount of light and energy surged towards where Leandro was standing. Then Leandro laughed. He placed his hand at his front. With an annoyed smile, he welcomed the surge of light—or more so, he blocked it with the use of his own hands. Then he laughed, harder, coarse, insulting. “That's what I am looking for, Alina! Someone who could fight and has the guts to kill me! It turned me on, my slave! It turned me on!” he shouted. Alina grunted in frustration and fear. “I am not your f*****g slave!” She then jumped above the skill that she had casted, pulling her bow once again, and releasing another set of Angel's arrow. “Skill: Astaroth's Breath.” Just like what happened at Alina, circular symbols had appeared in front of Leandro's hands. It was between his palm and of the light that he was blocking with ease. The Angel's arrow dissolved when it touched the circular symbol. Sooner, beam of darkness started to appear from the circular symbol Leandro had created. It grew every second, contesting the ray of light that Alina summoned. “No!” Alina went back to where she casted her skill. She put her Airbow at her shoulder, then placed both of her hands at the front of the symbol she had created. “Strengthen,” she casted. She can feel the pressure of the light being pushed by the beam of darkness that Leandro is giving. The chaos of the wind was strong, making the trees to sway in panic. The birds and few of the watching beasts had fled away, for they felt the immense power of two opposing players. The ground where Alina stood, was starting to have a crack. She was being pushed along with the power of the light. She clenched her teeth tighter. She did everything she could just to contest the power that Leandro was showing off. But she knew, it wasn't enough. That she knew, anytime soon, her power would collapse and she would be defeated. She closed her eyes, accepting the fate she would end up to. But the dark beam suddenly disappeared. The pressure she was feeling had ease off. Confused, she immediately cancelled her skill to check what had happened to Leandro. Leandro was now lying on the ground, facing the dirt and soil along with a dried leaves. Above him, are two figures of her savior. “S—Silver?” she asked. It was a man and a woman. One is holding a whip, one is holding a pink wand. “Alina.” And the man smiled. It was Silver.
