Chapter fifty one: The Festoonis

The world beyond the next side of the portal, was different from the altar of marbles and crystals. Without any hesitation, Silver and his group had set themselves for another risk, as they entered the portal that Alina had created from her blood. Silver realized that the place they have fallen into, was not similar with the surroundings they found on the ground level of Artemis' tower. He looked at the surrounding. So as Alina, Yohanna and Jiero. The place looked like an ancient building. At the floor, a wooden yellow symbols was intricately designed. Along with it, are ancient drawings of different sceneries, images of faceless gods and goddesses of Olympus. The ceiling was an old, rustic bricks and stones. And in the middle, an ordinary, metallic door was standing. “Where are we?” asked Yohanna. Alina scrolled in the air, as if she was in the front of a giant, technological gadget. Sooner, she replied, “I believe we are on the dungeon proper.” “So the whole thing we have gone through was just, what, a dupe? And this place was where the real difficulty would come?” Silver asked. Alina nodded. “Unfortunately, yes. This is the real place where Artemis could be found. It was a feat we had managed to get in here. I just . . .” she then hesitated, feeling a bit of embarrassed. “I don't know what would happen to us if you did not save us, Silver.” “From what? To the capsules?” “Yes.” Alina met his gaze, but avoided it after a second. “S-Soon as we entered the portal inside the Moonwraith's body, we were separated, and placed each at the capsules. According to the Sabertooth, the capsules were made by Artemis. It was the capsule to place lost souls in the middle of the night. It was the capsule of nightmare.” Silver nodded. “I have to agree that the capsule was indeed a place of nightmare.” He then tried his best to forget what had happened to him inside the nightmare, for the cut of pain in his heart was still fresh and vulnerable. “And I guess I have to thank you,” Yohanna interrupted. “I—I saw you in my dream. You saved me from the giant snake trying to eat and kill me.” “Too me. You come with light,” said Jiero. Silver held his nape, and his cheek turned red. “I—I did nothing. I just . . . broke you out of the capsule. Just like that.” “But we're still thankful.” Alina spoke at him while her back was turned away. She as well, was having a blush of her cheeks. But her reason was different. Whatever happened inside her dream, she just want to forget it. She doesn't want to tell it to anyone. Especially Silver. For she was embarrassed. “Let's just forget it,” said Silver. “We have different things needed to take care of now. We have to get out of this dungeon as soon as possible.” Then the group agreed. They scanned the whole place. From the design of the floor, the rustic wall and ceilings, and the metal door. “What are we supposed to do here right now?” Yohanna asked. “The Sabertooth hasn't told anything,” Alina replied. Silver went to the middle of the place, on where the metallic door was standing. “I guess we would be entering here, just like what we did to the portals?” Silver then pushed it. “But its locked.” Jiero neared, and helped Silver pushing it, but even with both of their strength, the door hasn't moved even in a single inch. Yohanna, from observing Jiero and Silver pushing the doors, she saw crescent-like hole at the middle of the metallic door. “Th—There's a key hole,” she said. “Someone must put a key in order for it to open.” Upon Silver seeing the keyhole, he stopped pushing the door. It would be useless if they are pushing more effort for it to open, knowing there must be a key to be able to make it. But the key is nowhere found. The place may look old, ancient. Brown and yellow and black was the domain colors of the place, but they were skeptical if the key was hidden in any secret slots or passages in the walls or floors. As they figure what are the things that they need to do in order to get out of the place, silence has dominated their spaces. No one was talking. All of them are immersed with their own thoughts, own possible solutions on how to open the last remaining hope they have—the metallic door—in order to move to the next place. Jiero was sitting to the ground. His knees are tucked, making him able to place his chin on it. His eyesight were at still, on gray hues. He activated the grids and lines of his sight, and checked the whole surrounding. But he cannot see anything. No peculiar grid point was found. He knew, if ever the key was hidden in this place, he would be able to see it just by his bare eyesight. “I—I am afraid to ask this. But are we stuck here?” Yohanna finally broke the silence. She looked embarrassed as she told those words. She immediately look at the ground, to avoid the gazes of her comrades. “I don't know. I guess we—” Alina hadn't finished whatever she would be saying. She was shocked when she saw Jiero suddenly making a quick stand, holding his spear, and attacking her. No, the creature behind her. Alina almost screamed as she saw a giant creature that was about to eat her, with the use of its soft, slimy mouth. Silver was as shock as Alina. The creature was a white-colored beast that has short four legs, a caterpillar-like body made from fat and water, having a tail with a scales that looked like a fish, and a funnel mouth whose sticky liquid was falling out. Luckily, Jiero managed to s***h and kill the beast with the use of his trident spear. Had he failed, Alina would be now inside the beast's stomach. Jiero felt the irregularity of the grids in his eyes. It was just a matter of second that the realized a beast was about to attack one of his comrades. And so he moved fast. Now Silver checked the whole place. His heart was pounding hard, for he wasn't sure if there would be another beast that would pop out, or was it the only one. He then noticed that from below Yohanna, exactly at where she was standing, the floor moved as if it was just a wave of water. “Yohanna, get out!” Silver shouted. Yohanna, doesn't seem to grasp the thought Silver had given, but it all came to her as she felt the floor moving. She jumped soon as a beast similar to what Jiero killed, had appeared at where she just stood. She was however outbalanced, for the creature was too big. Its mouth then grew wide, ready to grab and swallow her. A gush of air hit the mouth of the creature, making Yohanna sigh in relief, for she was safe. She let her body fall in the pink cloud she had made, soon as she summoned her wand. She looked at Alina to thank her, but the woman was facing another similar creature. From Alina's back, Jiero jumped and surprised the creature with his attack. “Skill: Ramiel’s sight!” An illusion of a huge eye opened at the front of Jiero’s trident spear. From it, a thunder has escaped, and head fast to the creature who was attacking them. Now at Yohanna's back, Silver had shown himself as well. He equipped his vine whip which was now blessed with the Fire God’s wrath. He head straight to one of the Moon creature, and prepared his whip. The beast threw attacks as well. From their mouth, it spitted a sticky liquid that when it touched the ground, smoke would escape—a poison. Luckily, Silver was moving fast, and his agility was exceptional. When he finally neared the creature, he jumped, and slashed its mouth. The creature screamed in pain as Silver managed to cut is pouted lips. He then went to the head of the creature. A shadow step he had done, and in a blink, he was now standing at the creature’s back, holding his whip satisfyingly. Sooner, the creature he was fighting had released a wild scream. Red lines appeared through its body. Then soon flame. The Fire God's flame. And the creature was not just sliced into pieces, but was burnt into coal as well. “Be careful! The Festooni’s saliva was poisonous! You have to avoid it!” Alina said, then ran towards where Jiero can be found, fighting another Festooni. Yohanna finally gathered herself. She held her wand, and decided to summon the spirit of the Aries. She threw her wand upward, let it float in the middle of her chest, and casted a spell. The ground on her feet glowed in the constellation of Aries, and an unexplainable amount of power has surged through her. “Stellar Skill: The Spirit of Aries!” Two orb in the color of blue had appeared at her hand, through which high voltage of electric current was waiting to be unleashed. She then dashed to another Festooni who was about to attack Silver. As she neared the monster, she clasped her hand, let the orb collide into each other, until electricity exploded. From the explosion of electric current, the Festooni died in the manner similar to how Jiero's attack had done. Another electric orb appeared at Yohanna's hands. The whole, small place was now filled with dead caterpillar-like creature. It was either dead from electric and lightning, or burning, or torn from the force of the wind. Only one beast remained standing. And four, highly skilled, overpowered players was about to hunt it.
