Chapter forty eight: To kill the Moon Phantoms

1447 Words
Silver Cassano courageously faced the weird, dangerous creatures that was about to attack them. He summoned four fire orb from his inventory. He know it would take long for the fire orb to activate its fire blessings to the vine whip, but he was confident he could wait through it, until he could reveal that hidden power. “Fill socket,” he casted. The four light orbs he was holding on his hand was then dissolved and turned into a red dust of smoke. It swirled and motioned onto the whole totality of the vine whip. It started to become part of the weapon. “It would take some time, but at least I can use it later,” he said. He then ran towards the group of the phantom-like creatures. On his screen, the name Moon Phantoms popped out, pointing at the beast that he needs to fight and kill. He casted his shadow step, and surprised his enemies by appearing at their front. Silver was circling his whip as he kicked one of the Moon Phantom. The waves of the circled vine whip had slashed some of the heads of the Moon Phantoms, causing their white bloods to scatter and gush away of their heads. He then twisted his feet where under it, a Moon Phantom was struggling. He heard a crack on its bones before he jump, and gave another blow of kick to the Moon Phantom next to him. One of the creature flew and attempted to attack him. It revealed its blood-red eyes and a sharp, metallic nails peering at its fingers. He dodged it by jumping to another head of a Moon Phantom. The Moon phantom who was to attack him had no control to direction, causing to pierce its own comrade by the use of its nails. It gave him an opportunity that he would never want to miss. He used his spring jump skill and soared above. With one hard s***h, he was able to kill every Moon Phantom he saw. He finally stepped to the ground, and ran, away where the capsules can be found. He have to at least lure them away of Alina, Yohanna and Jiero, now that they were vulnerable and unconscious. He just hope there would be no more beasts or any weird creature that would introduce itself in the scenario, or attempt to eat them. No, he would probably regret what he was doing right now, if ever it would happen. When he think that the distance he took was already enough, he switched his direction, turned from where the Moon Phantom was chasing him, and wildly s***h his weapon. “Skill: Beanstalk.” In a sudden second, as he was whipping his weapon, the lash of his whip had shifted its form. It grew large and it formed knots and ties of vines, looking as if a flexed muscle of a huge body builder. And its length grew in a giant meter too, enough to wash out half of the Moon Phantoms that was chasing him. He realized that he managed to grab a good distance from the enemies, because they were moving slowly, while he, driven with adrenaline, had ran furious and distanced enough. The vine whip went back to its usual form after it almost ruined half of the Moon Phantom's group. He then dashed towards where the other slow-moving Moon Phantoms are. Yet, when he realized that something has changed at them, he halted. But he was late. The Moon Phantom, just like what its name was, suddenly disappeared from his eyesight. No, they blended their colors to the surface of the moon. He stared at the white place. Everything was dark and silver white. He can hear the low growling of the Moon Phantoms at his ear, but he cannot pinpoint where it was coming from. A s***h of nails appeared right at his front. He dodged, but half of that Moon Phantom's attack had managed to wound his face. From left part of his forehead down to his right jaw, a s***h mark appeared. Blood ran down trough it, to his left eye, and hindered his eyesight. But he didn't bother. The sight of his left eye was restricted, for it was wounded. Blood was flowing from above, at his forehead. Yet, he looked not bothered by the restriction. He still has his right eye. The only thing that he would consider as his doom, is the chance of he failing to identify where the moon phantoms are. He lifted his vine whip, and did a circling motion around him. He continued moving his vine until it created a shield of a dangerous lash. From that, the phantoms wouldn't be able to attack him while he try to assess where the enemies could have gone, or how would he be able to see where the invisible phantoms are. He felt something moving near his feet, yet let it pass as he emerge himself onto thinking. “Where could they be hiding?” he asked himself. Then another move was what he felt near his feet. This time, Silver managed to take a glance for it. His eyes turned horrified as he realized that one of the Moon Phantoms was emerging from the ground as its only eye was morbidly staring at him. He casted a spring jump, but the hand of the Moon Phantom was already holding his feet. He found himself loosing his balance. He fell to the ground, and kissed it hard, causing his chin to be crushed, as it was the first part that had fell to the ground. Despite the pain, he tried to stand. But he couldn't. There were four more pairs of hands pinning him to the ground, giving him a hard time to stand up and fight. Then, more and more pairs of hands had pinned him. He can hear the guttural growl of the creatures. As he looked above, numbers of red eyes was wildly looking at him, moving their hands, looking as if the version of zombies from this dimension. Silver forgot the fact that he have a strength buff potion in his inventory. Had he drank even a single bottle, he could single-handedly force this creatures away, until he can stand again. But he wasn't. He was helplessly pinned to the ground that he cannot move even his own fingers. A zapping sound pass through his ears. Then, for a second, the Moon Phantom that was pinning him down, moved in a peculiar manner. Their bodies were shaking. The pinning had loosen, and in another second that passed, the Moon Phantoms fell to the ground, lifeless. “Stand Silver safe.” The voice. The way how the construction of the sentences was done. He knew it. He was familiar of it. When he stared up above him, he saw a young kid looking at him, smiling as he was holding his thunder spear. “Jiero.” The sound of relief and happiness was observed through Silver's words. He immediately stood, and composed himself. His body was in pain, but he was happy that Jiero was finally safe. “Are you alright?” asked Silver. Jiero nodded, and handed him a bottle of health potion. “You not okay. Drink,” Jiero said. Silver willingly took the bottle, and drank it again. He had already consumed two dosages of the health potion. He wasn't sure if he would meet consequences from it, but he was just now enjoying the soothing sensation that it brings to his damned body. As he finished, he looked at Jiero, and asked, “Where is Alina and Yohanna?” Jiero raised his hand, and pointed at the direction where the capsule was. There, he saw Alina and Yohanna fighting another swarm of Moon Phantoms. They were still wet, as well as Jiero, for they had just awakened themselves while their bodies was dipped in green frothing liquid. Yet, they already knew what was happening. Now, they were fighting the creatures. They may find it hard, but their actions and skill are with snap. “Silver, us all woke nightmare because heard we is your voice,” Jiero said. “Thank you.” “Let's forget about it first,” said Silver. “We have tons of phantoms we need to take care of.” He then looked at the new swarm of Moon Phantoms that was coming through them. He felt a heat surging and dancing through his arm. As he checked it, his whip was already burning in bright red of fire. ‘Finally, the call of the Fire God's wrath.’
