Chapter forty nine: The Tower of Artemis

1700 Words
With the blessing of the Fire god's flame, no strong man should be able to stop his wrath. No strong beast shall hinder his path, for what they would end, is of the melancholic ashes that withers along with the blow of the wind. Silver Cassano was running along with Jiero. Fire and thunder element of the nature seems not connected to each other, but Jiero and Silver was. Silver soared with the use of spring jump, and casted a skill that would burn half of the swarm of Moon Phantoms. “Skill: Fire God's Citadel.” As he wildly slashed his whip, a giant circular symbol appeared in the sky. That symbol represents the power of the Fire god. Then, from the symbol, a wave of running fire, cylindrical in shape, has burnt the right portion of the armies of the phantom. On the left part, Jiero buried the handle of his trident spear on the ground. He clasped his hand, and started to mumble words that seems unfamiliar to anyone who would hear it. As he opened his eyes, zap of electricity appeared at the sides of his eyelids. Then, a cast: “Herald: Wrath of Heaven!” The sky roared, causing the Moon Phantoms to stop. The sound seemed a giant wheel rolling in the ground, or a gigantic creature weeping in melancholic pain. Then hundreds of Lightning. One after another, the group of lightning subdued the left portion of the armies of Moon Phantoms. One after another, the marching creatures either burn, or been threw from the explosive burst of the lightning hitting through them. Silver then shadow stepped, and planned to finish the remaining Moon Phantoms. Few of them casted their invisibility skill, but Silver was already done with the tactic. He enveloped himself with the aura of his fire. He closed his eyes. And then he can easily feel the distortion of the heat as few invisible creature attempted to near and attack him. One attempted to s***h, but he would counter it with a his burning whip. He had done the technique once, when he encountered the Gorgon. Now, he was able to do it again, so that the duping of the Moon Phantoms wouldn't be the same as what earlier happened. He felt two Moon Phantoms aiming to attack him. The simultaneous attack that the Phantoms did has somewhat made him confused. Then another distortion of heat: one he figured as a gush of wind, one a clump of clouds and thunder. And the Moon Phantoms died. As he opened his eyes, he saw who the reason of those attacks. Running to him, are three familiar figures. Alina, Yohanna, and Jiero as well. “Hurry!” Alina said to him. He wanted to hug her, for finally, he was able to see her safe and strong, but with the current action that they have, he set it aside, and join them in their fast sprinting. “What's happening?” he asked as he effortlessly equaled their running paces. “We have to reach and enter the tower of Artemis.” “Tower of Artemis? Where is it?” Then, as if Yohanna just found the answer, she pointed through it. “There!” she exclaimed. Silver looked at it. A tall yet slim architectural building was seen far from them. The elegance and sophistication of the building was easily observed as white glowing paint had polished the outer surfaces of the walls. Adding giant clump of illuminating crystals, and an aura of different colors changing every second, it sure looked like a place of forgotten fantasy. But then this game can miraculously do anything, that is why that tower was possible. “Are we going in there?” asked Silver. Alina nodded. “According to the Sabertooth's wisdom, that is the only ‘safer' place in the moon.” Silver smirked sarcastically. “But I bet hundreds of monsters were waiting for us there.” Alina then nodded. “That's for sure. But compared to the outside of it, which is where we are right now, it is more safe to assume that we shall enter that tower.” “But why?” “As what I said last time, in this real game, Apollo is in wrath and anger of Artemis. That's for some reason unstated by the Sabertooth. But what's bothering me is the fact that what we are stepping now is the celestial domains of the god and goddess. And they were continuously revolving around the earth, spiraling and facing each other. And in no sooner time, this part of the moon is going to be dominated by Apollo's wrath. This place would be a desert of sunlight, of fire.” “That's why everything that can be found here, possibly be burned to death?” Alina nodded. Yohanna and Jiero looked bothered from Alina's response. Their bodies would melt from the heat of the sun, if they wouldn't be able to make their feet stepping inside the dungeon. And they were afraid they would really not be able to make it. The sun was peering from the direction where their back was turned. And they can feel the tingle of the sun. They can feel the heat and the danger that it brings to every each of them. “Hold on, we can make through it,” Silver said. He opened the holographic screen on his wrist, and pressed the new symbol that was found in his inventory. “Summon Beast: Artemis' Wing.” From his wrist, a burst of dancing white light, glowing silvery like the moon, has appeared and concentrated above Silver. Another burst had occurred, after the concentration of the light has met its required energy. The light escaping from Silver's wrist has stopped. Above him, a gigantic creature was flapping its wings. It was the Moon Eagle he had killed earlier. “Wow,” Yohanna muttered. Even Silver was shocked with his own revelation. Who would have thought that the weird loot he had acquired earlier, was in fact a beast that can be summoned? “W-We have no time. Come on,” he said. However, he had no idea how he would be able to control the beast. ‘How can I control this eagle?’ Then the moon beast screeched. Something snapped at Silver's mind. And he felt that his brain has opened a pathway to something he cannot surely explain. A screech he has heard inside his mind. ‘Wh-What is that?’ He then looked at the giant eagle flapping its wings above. It was staring at him. Another screeching sound that almost put his head into a new level of migraine. ‘I-It was trying to talk to me,’ he concluded. Then he heard another screech. Silver, even hesitating, has commanded the beast to, ‘lay still in the ground.’ And the Moon Eagle did. He smiled triumphantly. He then commanded it to put one of its wings to the ground so that they can ride through it. And it did. Silver looked at his comrades. “Let’s go.” They quickly stepped and rode to the back of the giant eagle. As they find their comfort sitting, Silver said, “Hold on tight, and find a spot where wind would not hit your face. This one is a tough ride.’ He commanded the Moon Eagle to flap its wings and fly fast, towards the tower of Artemis. And he willingly followed. He flew fast to the sky, on the part where sunlight was still budding early. They can feel the insurmountable heat that was coming from the sun. It was burning their back, as if a newly heated cooking pan was touching their skin. But the Moon Eagle flew fast, and luckily, they reached the spot where the sun hasn't reached yet. They continued flying, until they reached the main gate of the tower of Artemis. Soon as the Moon Eagle landed, it dissipated and turn back into sparkles of light. It moved, and gathered inside Silver's screen. A huge, marble-like, white gate has welcomed them. In a circular design, a scripture was written elegantly. It made the gate looking beautiful. At the center, a gigantic metal structure was attached. It was similar of what looked like the driving wheel of an old model of a ship, only that it was created in metals and marbles. “Anyone of you know how to read the symbols?” asked Silver. No one answered. Silver then shrugged, and told, “we don't need that. Let's just pull this giant wheel until the gate would open.” As he pushed one of the humungous rod of the similar in a driving wheel-like structure, the wheel moved. And then a portion of the gate had opened. “See, it works.” He shrugged again. Jiero helped Silver to push it, until the gate would open enough for them to enter. Not far from where the tower was, the sun's light was glaring at the surface of the moon. Indeed, it was too hot and dangerous. Waves of evaporating heat was tricking their eyes. It made the whole surrounding to move and dance. The sun's light was about to touch the place. And they have to quickly move. “Hurry!” Silver said. Alina and Yohanna was panicky as they first enter the gigantic gate. Then, Silver and Jiero ran fast as they could, so that they can follow the two girls who entered first. One meter, and the intense heat of the sunlight was about to melt them, if they could not go into the safe place, inside the tower of Artemis. Luckily, before the angry heat of the sun could touch them, they managed to enter inside. Alina and Yohanna was waiting for them, holding the rod of the opposite driving wheel-like structure. As they succeeded entering and hiding on behind the gate so that they could be safe from the sunlight, Alina and Yohanna pushed the rod. The gate moved. Until it close. And for a moment, even just a single moment, they feel safe.
