Maze

"My King, I am Maze your loyal advisor and oldest friend," he said. I was shocked but also disturbed. "Why are you in my house," I said. "I need to speak to you," he repeated. "I know Selene has been training you but Sire I should be the one to continue your training." "What? Why?" I asked. "I was there when you first ascended to the throne. I trained you when you first began to use your powers and being around Selene will just confuse your spirit and keep your emotions unbalanced," he explained. "Did you come here with Selene," I asked. "Yes but she came to look for you on her own because she has the strongest connection to you," he said. "Do you know where she is now?" I asked. "Probably back on the ship with Venus and Cloud," he said. "Venus and Cloud?" I questioned. "Venus is her handmaid and Cloud is her closest friend," he said. I was kind of curious to know who these people were but I also wanted to know who this guy was. Maze seemed very eager to train me. He seemed loyal enough but why didn't Selene introduce us. He asked me to follow him so I left my bag and went to where he wanted to go. We drove outside of town again. It was an empty field by an abandoned road. We got out of my car and he led me to the middle of this field. "Come at me," he said. I stood there trying to process his words but he quickly came at me instead. I tried to block him but he was fast. He then used his air spirit to attack me. He pushed me away and threw me across the field. I tried to use my powers but he was so fast and kept pushing me to the ground. "You are ten times more powerful than I, use your spirit," Maze said. I was getting tired and beat up pretty bad. I fell to the ground for like the hundredth time and then I stayed on the ground. Maze kept yelling at me to get up but I refused. I think Selene's training was the beginner level and now I am at the highest and so not prepared. I felt ashamed and didn't think I should keep going with this. "How can you protect yourself, your family or anyone if you stay on the ground like a child," Maze said. "Selene could have died if you hadn't used your spirit last night. She will die in this war because of you." I got up and looked Maze in the eyes. I felt my anger build and felt a burning desire to protect her. I ran towards Maze and knocked him over. I was punching him over and over again. Maze began to laugh and I started to get angrier. I felt the flames cover my hands and then my entire body. "There you go," Maze said. I couldn't put it out. "Don't panic just control it." I took a deep breath and thought about Selene and her smile. The flames disappeared and I was calm. We practice fighting some more and I got a better handle at using my powers offensively now. After we finished we were both pretty bruised. Maze took me to the ship he and Selene came on. It was all white and thin. It had two interlocking rings on the back. The inside was very luxurious and spacious. This very pale and petite girl was standing by a fancy looking door. She had this long purple robe and a hood covering her hair. Suddenly the door opened and my jaw dropped. It was Selene wearing a lighter purple maxi skirt with side slit openings and a matching crop top with a hood covering her hair. She looked like a princess. A brooding spiky blonde haired male walked towards us and greeted Selene. He was very intimidating and looked tougher then Maze. Selene greeted him warmly and I felt a flame burn in the pit of my stomach. Selene then acknowledged me and came towards me to examine my wounds. "What happened?" she asked. Maze looked guilty and worried. "Maze?" "We were training," Maze answered. She pulled me into the room with the fancy door. Before she closed the door she asked the petite girl to tend to Maze's wounds. She then pushed me onto a bed and sat on top of me. "Close your eyes," she said. I was worried but didn't fight her on it. I felt a warm liquid enter my veins and it felt good and felt like it was healing me from the inside out. I felt her hand brush my face and I wanted to open my eyes. She kissed me before I got the chance too. I put my hands on her waist and she began to move her hips. I was getting very excited so I stopped the kiss. "Selene," I said softly. "Sorry," she said. "No, don't be but I um think we should slow down," I said. It's not at all what I wanted to do but it was for the best. "Okay, let me introduce you to the rest of the team," she said. We walked out of the room and she took me to the area of the ship where the rest of the guys were. "This is Venus, my handmaid, and a water spirit." "Hello sire," Venus said. She was very soft-spoken. "This is Cloud, he is a fire spirit and my dearest friend," Selene said. Selene was so overjoyed when she spoke about Cloud I couldn't help but be jealous. "Hey," Cloud said aggressively. "Hey," I said back. It took a minute for someone to speak after that but Maze finally did. "Tomorrow you can train with Cloud, he is the best fighter in your army," Maze said. "Cool," is all I could manage to say. Cloud looked more excited then I was. I guess he knew he could kick my ass if he wanted too. I thought I was supposed to be his king too right? He didn't look like he liked me much. Selene walked me to my car when we were done talking. I agreed to come back after school tomorrow. "Axel, they don't know you're not coming with us after next week. Please don't tell them. The whole point of this was to bring you back home so we could win the war but I won't force you and maybe it is for the best," she said. "Okay," I said. As I drove home I felt kind of bad. I had made the choice to stay because I still felt like this wasn't my fight and I might not be who they say I am. I wish I could just remember everything and then that would help me know what I should do. All I knew is that in one week they would be gone and my life would go back to being just ordinary.
