I took Selene to my house while I had a shocked and confused Sam in the backseat and Hunter who kept asking what had happened. I took Selene inside and laid her on my bed. I gave Sam some of my clothes to change into. Hunter just stood there looking crazy.
"Dude, what happened?" Hunter asked.
"I saw you, and fire and her she," Sam said walking out of my bathroom.
"Look, I don't know how to explain it so I will just spit it out," I started explaining. "I am a phoenix king from a different planet and she is my wife sort of. I am still not 100% sure about that part but I have powers and those guys tried to kill me for some reason." Hunter and Sam both looked at me like I was insane.
"I know I saw you burn those guys but another planet and your wife," Sam said confused.
"ARE YOU HIGH! Did you take any pill or drink something strange," Hunter said. I showed them the ice I could create from thin air. They both gasped and Hunter actually fell on his ass. I walked over to Selene and checked if she was okay.
"So she's your wife?" Sam asked.
"Yeah that's why she came here and I guess why I kept drawing her," I said. She stayed quiet and sat on my computer chair.
"Dude, so your like an alien," Hunter said. I raised my eyebrows and said
"Just shut up." Selene was finally coming too so I helped her sit upon my bed.
"Hey, are you okay?" I asked her. She looked at my face and caressed my cheek. I heard Sam cough but I was still lost in Selene's touch.
"I'm okay, are you okay?" she asked me.
"Yes, they didn't hurt me," I told her.
"Good, but I told you they might find you eventually," Selene said.
"Who were they?" Sam asked. Selene looked at me and gave me a puzzled expression.
"Don't worry they know and I trust them," I told her.
"They were part of a dark spirit group called esperit. They either killed spirit holders to obtain their powers or they just abused their own powers and grew evil with an obsession for more power," Selene explained.
"How did they find me," I asked.
"Your training, you awakened your powers so they can easily sense your power," she said. I was a bit concerned but I knew this was a risk.
"Axel, what the hell. This is all crazy," Hunter said.
"Hunter is right. You trust her and your doing these things, killing people. Your only seventeen and about to graduate," Sam said.
"Try to understand what I am going through," I said. "I know this is all insane and I shouldn't want anything to do with it but I have no choice. This is who I really am." They both stayed quiet but their expressions changed. I think they did understand that I may have not asked for this but I have no choice now.
"You have a choice, you can give up your spirit and it will leave you and you can live a normal life," Selene said.
"No, I am the phoenix king and I have to do what I have to do," I told her. She smiled and held my hand.
"So you're like a superhero," Hunter said.
"Hunter, shut up and I'll try to explain everything," I said. So I explained everything I knew so far. They were left speechless. I can relate because when I was first told this I kind of freaked out too. Sam and Hunter stayed at my place until 1 am. My parents were never taken back by this because they knew my friends and knew we didn't anything bad. Plus they rather have us here than out and about. Once they left Selene and I talked a bit. She told me about where she grew up and some of the adventures we use to have. It was strange to hear but I found comfort in her words. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever remember any of this. Selene said that I never lost my memories when I died and was reborn. So I wondered why now? She finally fell asleep in my arms and I drifted off to sleep moments later. I woke up early so I could avoid my parents coming to wake me. I went to take a shower and then got dressed for school. Selene woke up five minutes later and I let her shower in my bathroom. She walked out in just a towel after she was done.
"I left you clothes in the bathroom," I told her.
"I rather wear my own," she said. I looked at her confused.
"Do you have extra clothes," I asked.
"No. but I will go and get them," she said.
"You're going to go in a towel to get your clothes rather than wear mine," I said. She nodded and I pleaded with her to not leave my room. I tried not to stare at her but her long legs and curves were driving me crazy. I had to cough to get my mind out of the gutter. I handed her my clothes again and she finally grabbed them and put them on. I was shocked that she began to dress right in front of me so I just ran out of my room to go eat breakfast.
"Hey Axel, have some waffles," my mom said. I sat down and ate with my parents and then went back upstairs to check on Selene. I felt bad about leaving her alone but I couldn't let my parents see any odd behavior. As soon as I walked into my room she was gone. She was still very mysterious to me but I felt a connection to her. Hunter was already waiting by my car when I walked out of my house. We headed to Sam's house. They both acted as nothing had happened. Did they think they were dreaming? Did they just want to pretend it never happened? I never brought it up because I was not trying to get into it at school. We went to our history class and we noticed we had a new teacher. He was a tall and dark-skinned man. He had a full beard and an intense stare. He was dressed very cool though. A white button-up shirt and ripped jeans with gray boots. He had two huge diamonds in each ear. He stood there by his desk as all the students entered and sat down. Once the bell rang he introduced himself. "Hello, students my name is Maze," he said. I think everyone was confused. Was that his first name or last name? Is he trying to be cool by using his first name? As he began his lesson I felt like he was staring at me the whole time. I was weirded out but he had normal eyes. The rest of the day went pretty normal. Hunter got detention so I waited for Sam and drove her home. The entire time I felt like someone was following us. I dropped her off and then drove home. I came home and my parents were at work. I went to my room and saw the new history teacher sitting at the edge of my desk. He now had sunglasses and a beige long coat on.
"We need to talk, my king."
