Loredana's POV
I watched Athens take the bowl and the knife as well we're lead to it at the table it was placed on. Everyone minus Hawk and Athens had their arms exposed over the bowl. I looked around at everyone, I would be sharing blood with the King and Queen. I was still in awe of them.
"You will have a vision of your founding ancestors. Be it female or male." Elder Braun spoke letting everyone at the bowl know. "Understand that Mortou, Pinky, and I are very old." He smiled. Placing his forearm over the bowl.
We all did, including Maya's son Hawk and Jewel. I watched as Athens poured an herbal liquid into the bowl reciting words, "Create a pack within a pack, no magic will break this bond. All ties to blood and love remain intact, for the pack within a pack. So shall it be?" Athens swiped the dagger across our forearms with flair.
I was watching with surprise followed by a strange sense of nausea, as the blood begAn to pool into the herb potion below. Each person began to drink from the bowl as their wounds healed. I was the last to take the bowl. Placing it to my lips I drank. A sense of calm unlike any I had ever felt washed over me. Flashes of wolves of people running the woods danced in my mind. Images of a great bear scared like the one in the movie Brave flashed among my head, death and betrayal followed. The woman wolves danced in my mind. Bears, so many bears appeared taking different forms. A jumble of pictures I could not make sense of following. Followed by a dark chestnut wolf with bits of black. Glowing violet eyes, changing to an all chestnut wolf, then an all-black one with black eyes ringed in violet. A dark brown wolf followed, massive fangs well past his mouth, then beings of magic and light. Dragons surfaced then filtered away until only a bear stood. Massive covered in scars he huffed. I saw three young cubs each standing before the old warrior bear. Their heads bowed. A wolf wandered to on, another bear wandered to the middle and a woman much like a vampire wandered to the last. Things sped up and the head we had seen before appeared. It had a body this time. Laughing hysterically it spun around until the last of it shattered like glass.
I started to shake my mind clear as the violet eyes wolf dark earthy brown appeared. "I am Lada envoy to Our Goddess Leto, We have called you warriors together to defeat the evil know as Velito." The wolf paused bringing forth pictures of Amber and me. "We have placed two that will be of great use in this defeat. You cannot defeat him without his essence." Lada, turned again, looking to Jewel and Maya. "Your strength lays in your heart. Your pups will be fine," She looked directly at Maya. "Do not worry about your live and unborn ones." With that, the wolf focused on Pinky, "You, my dragon will have a role that will define things yet to be. Fight and learn to focus your magic, strength lies in the love of your creativity." The brown she-wolf nose booped her in the chest. Looking to Maya's son Hawk she placed her massive muzzle on his head, huffing gently you could feel the communication pass silently. Their foreheads touch and a wave of power were felt knocking us back a step even as we were held with a circle. "You will use wisely the blessing we have given." She paused as if looking back at something she may have forgotten. Looking back to me she focused sneezing slightly Lada padded toward me. "I have not given you a gift, She raised her nose to me, looking back to Amber she smiled, " You have family here child understand what happens in the past, present and future are just that a moment in time. She walked her whole body around me, humming softly a wave of calm washed around me like the ocean's incoming tide. She licked my hands then backed up. Your heart has great love yet to give. Stronger than the others, use it wisely and only when there is need. She began to fade out, as two Goddesses faded in. They looked very different, the Moon goddess looked like she was luminescent with her silver hair and eyes and glowing pale skin a regal air fluttered about her. Leto was with black hair and eyes as green as the forests she seemed more down to Earth grounded her knowledge and sure of herself yet with a modest flair.
"We are here to set a path for you, there will be battles ahead. As a mixed pack of wolves bears and others, I want you to know each gift that is given is to help aid in the survival of the rest. You will split at some point and battle in smaller groups understand we knew this and blessed you with things to help. Out of the coming chaos, your Royal group will find their places to serve." Both women said at the same time.
Their eyes looked to Maya, "Your baby is protected by many, know that little one in your belly is safe from harm." Their eyes snapped to Hawk who looked rather surprised, "Myra's son, you are of great importance Amber is your mate because you needed someone who could much your rage with love. Know your royal blood will live on after this in that love. You're the right hand of death for the King and Queen." They looked at Mortou next, "We have turned your curse into a blessing old bear, you will see as the days progress, but yes but killing Velito will help you appease the loss of your first true mate." Both Goddesses hugged Mortou, as a swirl of magic danced along his skin. "Your cubs and their cubs will gain status among the others in our world." They kissed one cheek on each side at the same time. Looking to Athens, they both giggled a little, kissing one on each side of his cheeks, "in thank you for your many deeds, we are granting your souls love the same powers, though he will gain them over time just as you did." Again they giggled.
Looking for one more person their eyes landed on me. Surprise and fear coursed through me. "Child you are just as important if not more so, your gifts are the heart of this whole team. As you have come to care for this group so have they for you, you have a place among them. One that will shine just as brightly as you." In great surprise, they hugged me. I felt a wave of power surge through my limbs.
Then they were gone, we all stood staring at each other as if the door had been slammed in our faces. Shocked showed in each of. It was King Joe who started to chuckle. "That s**t just gets weirder each time we do it." Then he burst in the deepest laugh I had ever seen. Elder Braun, Maya, and Mortou followed. Grins were forming on everyone else as the laughter echoed in the room. I had a smile but understood none of it. Mike wrapped a hand around my waist held me while the room erupted in giggles and grins.
"What does this mean Mike?" I asked him.
"It means I can talk to you like this pretty girl," Mike wiggled his eyebrows and winked.
"How did you.." My voice trailed off as I heard others in my head. "We can mind link now?" I looked at Mike with awe.
"Indeed we can," Mike kissed my forehead a smile spread across his face as he wrapped his arms around me. He found a mate and pack just like that.
