The Clash
CHAPTER ONE
(The Clash)
Aria's POV.
Alpha Ryker was a rival of the Lunar pack, especially of their Alpha. He always showed off his strength. Alpha Ryker's pack had won the ancestors of the Lunar pack, and so he kept proving to Alpha Wynter, his rival, that he couldn't but follow the same method to win him till he was crushed.
The Lunar pack was against Kyros pack and nothing appeared to rejoin them or set them at lasting peace.
These two packs remained at loggerheads always. Alpha Ryker was a strong warlord who sought to enthrone power in his pack. He was a rigid leader of the Lunar pack, and he controlled his members with strictness. He saw to their safety.
Alpha Ryker, his rival, was from the Kyros pack. He had quadruplets he was catering for. He had gained a high sense of honour, since his ancestors once defeated Ryker's pack. He also became influential and, because of the feeling of belongingness, he protected his pack members.
A particularly bright day dawned on the land of the werewolves. The two Alphas came together. The night was darker than the previous one. Alpha Ryker was outside together with his pack members. Alpha Ryker often maintained a tight relationship amongst the members of his pack and wouldn't allow anything to hurt them. Alpha Ryker had wounded one of the young wolves in the Lunar pack, which remained in the memory of his rival, Alpha Wynter.
His mind always went against Alpha Wynter, his rival that he didn't even consider him and the quadruplet daughters he had. Alpha Ryker kept roaming around the thick forest to confirm if Alpha Wynter was close to his location. The hatred the two Alphas harboured between each other was clearly acted out by the reaction with constant clashes.
Suddenly, Alpha Ryker sighted Alpha Wynter. The latter was reclining on a pavement alone in the forest. Alpha Ryker was disgusted at seeing him. That Apha Wynter wasn't with any of his daughters added to his anger and disgust.
"What have you come to do here at this time of the night?" Alpha Ryker challenged him.
"Err..." Alpha Wynter responded, rather hesitantly. "As the watchman and leader of my pack, Lunar, I have the duty of seeing to it that my..." Alpha Wynter couldn't complete his statement when Alpha Ryker interrupted him.
"Seeing to what?" Alpha Ryker exclaimed, looking around without aiming anything. "I can't figure out what you are seeing here."
"This is not a joke." Alpha Wynter returned, without raising a shout. "Well, you don't have to bother."
"Huh?" Alpha Ryker wondered. He shrugged and calmed down, moving up and down around his rival. He began again, "Can I ask you a question?"
"Ask me." Alpha Wynter replied and added, "I have somewhere to go..."
"That's so rude of you!" Alpha Ryker remarked, a frown drawn clearly on his face as he suddenly stomped his foot and approached Alpha Wynter. But, Alpha Wynter held his claws tight immediately and didn't move for a while.
Alpha Ryker's claws hurt a bit, he pleaded and asked for a release. He was trying to trick Alpha Wynter, who in turn understood him. He was actually angered by Alpha Wynter's rude statement.
"I am not here to fight, for now." Alpha Wynter explained. "For the Lunar pack, I stand as a wadhman, and so I must defend it from attack coming from the enemy?"
"Like me?" Alpha Ryker asked, sneering at his rival as he patted his chest with strange fury. "Kyros pack leads and overpowers yours!"
"For where, Ryker?" Alpha Wynter objected, as he gesticulated with his fingers, placing them on his thighs.
"Oh!" Alpha Ryker exclaimed in derision.
"Our victories!" Alpha Wynter complemented his own words.
"Why did you give birth to quadruplets?" Alpha Ryker asked him. "And, why are they all..."
"Women?" Alpha Wynter asked, confirming Ryker's question. He turned back at him and smirked.
"They are still young ladies." Alpha Ryker reverted, his voice sounding louder than earlier.
"But, you have no interest in my pack," Alpha Wynter said in return. He wasn't ready to give in to his rival, neither did he want to give up. "I wonder why you are in need of such info."
"Why did you turn your back at me?" Alpha Ryker questioned him, shunning him. "Are you scared of an attack, or a blow from me?"
"Scared?" Alpha Wynter returned, his voice sounding louder than earlier. "Scared of whom?"
"Am I nobody?" Alpha Ryker confronted him.
"Are you here to fight me, Ryker?" Alpha Wynter reverted, as he raised our his claws and frowned his face. "I wonder why you've ever been against me!"
"What am I here for than to protect my pack members from you?" Alpha Ryker responded to him rather loudly. "I must be alive against you while you sleep off."
"That appears like mockery to me...!" Alpha Wynter exclaimed, his mouth effusing breaths of anger. He hated how Alpha Ryker addressed him and sprang on his back, and tried to threaten him. "Do you know how many members I am leading?!"
"I can shrink you into pieces!" Alpha Ryker returned, appearing to be angered by Alpha Wynter's reaction. He frowned his face at him and signalled him to move near.
"Come closer and try me!" Alpha Wynter challenged him.
In the twinkling of an eye, the two Alphas began to engage in a very serious clash. Alpha Ryker was first kicked afar by Alpha Wynter, who wasn't ready to wage war at that moment, but Alpha Ryker, his sworn enemy, kept pressuring him as he urged him to pick up a fight.
"I love my children so much..." Alpha Wynter revealed, as he stopped fighting. "I am trying to reply to your question which you asked me earlier. "I was naturally given quadruplets, because of nature's blessings on me."
"Huh?" Alpha Ryker sighed, softly under his breath. He had been weakened by the blows he tried to throw at Alpha Wynter and had also been tired of talking at that moment. He couldn't utter a statement.
"Do you want to hear more?" Alpha Wynter asked him, laughing as he stretched his right claw to the side and howled. "I can tell you about myself, Ryker!"
Alpha Ryker was displeased. He wanted to fight back but was weak. He had already got tired of the fight. He somersaulted and left.
