CHAPTER FIVE
(Nice Time With Asher)
Aria's POV.
The morning breeze blew with a strange downpour. It made the atmosphere cold both inwards and outwards.
I was awoken by the sound. I yawned and got ready for her early morning duty. Being in charge of the members of her pack wasn't that easy for me.
I would do anything to make sure they are protected and safe from the enemy pack. I belonged to the enemy pack to Asher's. But, several issues had gone wrong within Asher's family, making me consider her own family first. My personal wish was
"How I cherish my father!" I soliloquized, my voice echoing back to myself.
Asher overheard me, but she didn't know. Even if I knew that he saw me, I wouldn't fidget near him. I was ready to show it, because the event was a painful one and was an unforgettable experience.
I found my love with Asher, who was the son of a heartless Alpha. It was a battle showing love and cherishing him no matter what had transpired between him and his father, because of me.
Asher came out to me. He couldn't help seeing my lover in a state of lamentation.
"Aria, my darling!" He called, leaving me in aamazement. He held her arms and quickly patted her to prevent me from having serious chest pain. His appearance was sudden to an extent.
"Huh?" I responded. My voice was cooler than normal and thinner than usual.
At least, I felt I still had my other three sisters alive. Also, I had Asher with me, to whom I showed much love and received the same.
"Aria?" Asher called me again, louder than before, sitting beside me and holding my right arm. "It's not time to feel bad about what has happened. It has gone, and I won't like to see you this way."
"Can I smile?" I asked him, not expecting a direct answer from him.
"It will make me happy," Asher replied with a rather calm voice. "I really acknowledge your care for the members of the pack."
Suddenly, she blinked her eyes and changed her facial expression. "What of you?"
"I actually wanted you to smile, my darling." Asher explained to her, grabbing her so tightly. "I love what I see in your countenance every day, and it turns me on…"
"Really?" I questioned back, my face marking a strange disbelief in his words.
"What do you think about me?" Asher asked me, standing up suddenly as though he wanted to fight her. He shocked me.
"Your father doesn't want me..." I complained, covering my face with my hands.
"Why should he?" Asher returned, as he took some steps backwards. He seemed to have misunderstood me.
"Huh?" I was surprised. I looked at Asher and folded her arms. I raised her voice. "Asher, I mean he doesn't want me with you!"
"Oh..." Asher replied, slowly trying to decide on the response to give me. I could notice the hesitation in his face. "From the start of things, dear, he is known as an aggressive Alpha, you know?"
"I want peace!" I exclaimed, not meaning to act rudely to Asher. Then, I spread out my arms and smiled. "Asher, that's what makes me feel better."
"Things will work out well, darling." Asher whispered to my ears. "I can promise you."
"I'll always support you," I continued, as I raised my voice. "Err... 'Brother Asher wins over me in peace and calm'..."
"Haha!" Asher laughed. "Like Kaid would say." He wore a happy appearance and was willing to make me forget my past. He tried to talk, but I brought up another discussion.
"Where is Kaid?" I asked Asher suddenly, feeling more eager to converse with Asher. I loved to ask about Kaid, purposely due to the way he thought about new strategies that could support both Asher and I.
"He strolled out," Asher revealed.
"Since yesterday?" I returned, my eyebrows raised higher than normal, an expression of astonishment. I gave Asher a glimpse of my beauty as I stylishly rolled my face around him. Asher saw it and smiled.
"My love..." Asher replied to me. "Kaid is used to going out to spy for us..." He was short of words, as my beauty overwhelmed him.
"Hmm," I started, rubbing my face off the speckles that flew about. "The time is running out, and he's not back." I knew Asher had understood what I meant displaying my beauty to him. I wasn't any secretive about that, but only did it to make him feel more comfortable.
"We can wait for him," Asher explained, "I think he should be back late this evening. But, he told me he has many things to do and..."
"Our dinner." I completed his statement and we both smiled. "He's going to bring our dinner, right?"
"Yes," Asher replied. He faced the window and observed the birds that flew around and were singing continuously. He wanted to shun them at first, but the soft-hearted and lovely me overheard them and stood up, singing along with them.
"Wonderful!" I adored the birds, as I kept gazing at them.
"Huh!" Asher raised the curtain up for me to see them more clearly. "I think this will engage you before Kaid returns..."
"Don't overstate his name!" I turned her head backwards and stared at Asher playfully. "Kaid isn't my soulmate. You are..."
"I know." Asher assented, laughing loudly as he hugged her.
"Oh no!" I cried out, as the birds began to fly away one after the other. It was alreading getting late. I hoped one of them would wait and continue singing sonorously to her ears, and then I drew further a little.
