"They call us dreamers, but we're the ones that don't sleep."

In the quiet, sleepy town of Caesarspointe, everyone knows everyone. From the drunkards to the elite, everyone in the town held weight. Some, more than others.

Dempsey Carmichael, a naïve prep boy with his head in the clouds and a silver platter in front of him. To the public, he was aloof, uncaring to those around him but deep inside he was a loving and curious soul; just wandering until he found something that feels like home.

Cid Kosumi, an academic genius, he only has one or two goals; 1. Graduate as valedictorian then proceed to an ivy league college to become a doctor and 2. hold onto the one friend he managed throughout his entire high school career, Ishani Gray.

Ryu Brooks. Easily the most hated person in all of Caesarspointe, granted the town was the size of a pea but nonetheless. Offspring of Kieran Brooks, Ryu practically raised himself. Growing up for him was hell. After his mother died from cancer, his father took up drinking. As that usually goes-

Dempsey Carmichael Soundly the nimble clinking of small trinkets jingled against the small glass dish. Pale dainty fingers carefully picked out each ring before hastily slipping them on. Dempsey wasn't in a rush, he never was. Not because he didn't have anything to rush for but because he only had on thing to acomplish for the day. Go to school, per his personal chauffeur and sit in droning lessons with peers that avoiding him like the plauge. Dempsey Carmicheal lead an easy life. He never had to work for a thing, and was never bothered picking up the bill but that came with a price. "Sir, Harold is waiting outside," Mary, a sweet old women peeked her graying head into Dempsey's room, she was like a second mother to him, especically when his own was too busy across the country kissing someone else's husband to acknowledge her own children. Dempsey spared her a small, pretty smile. "Thank you for letting me know, I'll be down in 5." The women nodded, closing the door behind her. Dempsey glanced into the mirror again, his pale blue eyes roamed over his golden curls, just as wild as ever and his skinny frame. His thin limbs were clothed in a perwinkle sweater that was twice his size, and a pair of distressed jeans, light blue with huge rips. Dempsey was never one for fancy clothing. despite the type of family he comes from, the golden haired boy loved to thift shop and use second hand clothes. He claims he enjoys giving them a second chance to make people happy by wear them. Grabbing the leather bag beside his doorway, Dempsey made his way down the stairs. The bright lights of his home greeted him, a stark difference between his room which was only lite by a single pale purple projecting light. At the dining room table, three men sat. all blonde and quietly eating the feast set out in front of them, The eldest glanced up from his plain bran muffin, his tired blue eyes and growing wrinkles made Dempsey wince soundlessly. John Carmichael was a hard working man, and damn good bussiness man. He took care of his properties and his employees, yet he wasn't so much a good father. Better then Dempsey's mother, seeing she couldn't leave soon enough. Directly after the youngest Carmicheal, Blaire was old enough to eat soild foods. "Good morning, aren't you running late?" John lowered his gaze back to his breakfast, Dempsey hummed picking up a cinnamonroll and wrapping it in a napkin he glanced at his his eldest brother. Cyrpus was too busy staring at his phone to notice, but Dempsey didn't give him a chance to. He quickly took the cup Mary was holding out to him. A travel mug full of sweet tasting coffee, just the was he perfered it. Dempsey actually hated coffee, he disliked the bitter aftertaste it gave him but he need the s**t to function through the day. "Have a good day, Blaire, you can tell me all about it this afternoon when Harold and I pick you." He spared his baby brother a smile before walking out the diningroom and out into the foyer, his battered shoes tapping agaisnt the marble floors on his way out. As promised, Harold was outside standing towards the house in his normal white shirt and slacks. The older man had been driving Dempsey since he was in kindergraden. They had a strange relationship, one that didn't require words it was almost like they rode the same wavelength. Harold opened the door for Dempsey, greeting him with a gentle nod of his head. The older man took the bag from the golden haired boy and helped him get situated inside before closing the door and walking around to the drivers side. Caesarspointe was a beautiful place, the small town was crowded by woods and lakes, making it a great tourist place. If anyone knew it existed. Dempsey traced the fuzzy sights with his eyes, his shallow breaths fogging a small circle on the window. He was dreading school. The looks his peers give him made his heart sink and his stomach churn, he was truly an outcast on the contrary of what most would assume about him. It didn't matter how much money his family had, Dempsey was shunned, the entire Carmichael family was. Pulling into the school's parking lot, Harold stopped the car and glanced at Dempsey through the review mirror. Again the man didnt say anything but he did give Dempsey a small smile of reassurance, the blond returned it before grabbing his things and stepping out of the car. Like normal students stared at him, their eyes unwavering even when he glances at them from under his thick lashes. They were like parasites, sucking the life out of Dempsey stare by stare. He didn't pay them much mind, he's been attending this school for 3 years now, and its been the same since he got here. He was practically bullet proof with thier beady eyes. As he normally did, he hitched his bag over his shoulder more and started for his locker. It was on the west wing of the building, the golden haired male keep his eyes directly in front of him. He couldn't afford to start something today because he couldn't keep them to himself. He can't have a repeat of last month, he mistakingly eyed a group of guys close to his locker and they spreaded nasty rumors that he tried to touch one of them. Dempsey was helplessly a virgin, he'd only every touched himself and even that was a rare occasion. After quite a bit of walking, the pale boy stood in front of his locker. Nimble fingers quickly twisting the lock, cracking it open so he could load the books he needed for his first few classes. Like everything else Dempsey did while in this hell hole, he wasn't the most practical with his studies. He had decent enough grades to take a few failing assignments, it was the result of lacked motiviation. He zipped up his bag, slinging it over his shoulder again before continuing on his way to English 4. The class was a pain, not because of the material, no. Dempsey loved shakesphere, he loved anything that involved reading because that how he spent the majoirty of his friday nights. It was the people that made it unbareable. Upon entering he could hear the loud mouths from outside, he could already feel his head starting to throb. Walking inside to classroom, he took meek steps until he was at the back row where he set his things onto the ground and to the seat next to him. Dempsey always adored sitting in the back rows of his classes, not because he wasn't interested in what his teachers were droning on about; he simply enjoyed the solem quietness. And if he had friends he had no doubt they were sit in the back and goof off. The thoughts made his chest sting. Part of him truly hated his brother, he ruined every chance he would have gotten at having a normal life; but of course dempsey loved his brother despite what he's done to royally f**k up his life. "Alright! Settle down, I know half of you drunkards-to-be don't care much for this but we have a new student." Ms. Meadow's voice grasped the entire room in her powerful grasps. She used to be a theater teacher so it was only natural for her to capture everyones attention without even trying. Beside stood a somewhat tall male. He had beautifully smooth, brown ache free skin and jet black hair that seemed to flow in which ever direction he chose. His features were sharp and perfect put in place for his face, it really was apparent who God took his time on. This new student had singlehandedly sucked up all of Dempsey's attention along with the rest of the class apparently; considering it was now filled with chatter, mostly consisting of girls calling him a pretty boy and other disturbing things Dempsey's poor ears had to witness. "You can introduce yourself whenever works for you." Ms. Meadows patted the male on his shoulder, before going back to her heavily decorated desk. Ms. Meadows has a very strange style but Dempsey could appreiate something out of the norm every once in a while. Upon the young teachers words, but male with his perfect jet black hair opened his mouth flashing his pearly whites, "Hello, my name is Cid. My family and I just moved here from the eastside, and I'm really looking forward to meeting you guys and maybe even becoming friends." Cid's voice was like velvet. It was smooth, it matched Cid's phyical appearance well. After a few seconds of scanning the room, Cid's eyes fell on the very back corner. He stared briefly at the golden haired boy in the overiszed sweater and he couldn't help but think the color matched him well. "If you're done Mr. Kosumi, you may now find a seat so I can begin the lesson." Ms. Meadows addressed Cid, her lean body pressed agasint the front of her dresk causing the layered silk dress to purch just as bit on top of it. Cid slightly nodded his head, contrary to what most would think he walked past the pretty girls asking for his attention. Instead he sat at the desk directly beside Dempsey. The poor boy almost had a heart attack, in all 3 years he's been attending Caesarspointe high school, no one has ever attempted to sit next to him. Yet this bold new kid was the first. Dempsey couldn't help himself, before he could even realize it himself his beautiful pale blue eyes were locked onto Cid with a grip that could shun the strongest person. At that moment, Dempsey decided that Cid was the prettiest person he's ever had the pleasure of seeing. He was to keen on following every curl and dimple of Cid's face he didn't realize the male was staring at him. But the second Dempsey noticed his pale face lite up into flames. A deep red blush coated his cheeks and ears. Cid smiled gently at the sight of the embarrassed boy, it was nice seeing someone so simple. No heated looks or teasing just simple blushes and fleeting glances. Dempsey felt as if he'd emmbarrassed himself within an inch of his life. His face couldn't possibily get any hotter, so as his wicked smart mind attempted to free him of the stomach churning predicament. Cid tilted his head ever so slightly, a few strands of his dark hair spilling over his equally dark eyes, "You alright there? What's your name?" Cid had done it, Dempsey was in utter shock. He didn't know what to say, surpisingly he even forgot his own name thats how isolated he was from everyone else. In all 3 years, Cid Kosumi was the first person to ever ask his name. "Dem..Dempsey Carmichael." The pale boy winced at his own last name, it felt like a curse on his lips. A forbidden word among everyone attending Caesarspointe high school. Cid only smiled and extended his smooth skinned hand, his kind dark eyes felt as if they were encouraging Dempsey to take his hand. Dempsey was always one of the weak willed. He took Cid's hand into his own. Cold meeting warm, Dempsey couldn't take his eyes for Cid's gentle ones. Again his mind seemed to wander far, so far he hadn't realized he was still holding Cid's hand 5 mintues later. And never once did Cid's attempt to take his hand back. In Cid's mind, Dempsey was like a scared little fawn, wobbling on his newfound legs. The poor thing looked a bit of terrified and mesmerized. And a piece of Cid wanted Dempsey to flourish, to prance around with the giddest smile. He didn't quite like the hollowed look that married his youthful face. It didn't belong there. "Cid Kosumi." He nodded while Dempsey let go of Cid's hand like it was on fire. He nodded meekly before turning back to the lesson Ms. Meadows was teaching, Cid however stared at the golden haired boy just a bit longer. Taking in every detail of his side profile, after a few more seconds he turned away. - After first period, the school day droned on like it normally would. The second the bell rung, teens from everywhere dispersed into the halls. It was a wave of teenage hormones and poor BO and Dempsey was caught in the middle of it. After fighting tooth in nail out of the inclosed hallways, he was greeted by Harold. The man again didn't say a word, he just gave a gentle nod while reaching out for Dempsey's bag. Dempsey didn't have very many highlights to his days but this was definitely one of them, after a very exhausting day he wanted nothing more then to grab a cone of ice cream with his little brother and better known as his best friend. Dempsey patiently waited in the car as Harold went inside the elementary school to dismiss Blaire. As strange as Dempsey knew it was, the little boy was the light of his life, he kept him from doing something he would regret. Since Blaire was born, Demspey had the plan to become his legal guardian once he turned 18. Dempsey knew first hand what it was like growing up in the Carmichael household, he knew the lonely nights with no one to look after him. Sitting in the huge house all alone, the shadows of everything used to terrifiy Demspey. They still do, he didn't want that for his brother. Blaire deserved more than that. Harold opened the door for the 6 year old to climb insided. Upon seeing his brother the little boy shieked jumping on top of Dempsey, his shorter and dark locks of curly hair framing his little face . Dempsey smiled sweetly at his brother he adored his little missing-toothed smile and big bright blue eyes. "Hey buddy, how was school?" Dempsey hummed, setting Blaire into his car seat before buckling him up and hand him a ziplock bag of slicked apples. Demspey always made sure Mary picked Blaire snacks for after school. "It was good, we learned more boring colors but we went outside after." Blaire talked through his mouthful, his brother simply nodded watching him eat. "How about we go to get ice cream and swing by the park on the way home today? But only if you promise to let Mary brush your hair and sit down and do all your homework." Dempsey glanced at his phone typing out a text to tell Mary of his plans with Blaire. Once he was done he glanced at his brother who was smiling and nodded frantically. "Then it's settled, ice cream it is."
