chapter 11

1377 Words
Crystal just woke in the early morning. She opened her room and looked around before getting out. She didn't want to meet her father because of their conversation last night. She was afraid her father would force her to marry Marco when he saw her. She got out of her room after making sure the situation in the house was safe for her. The house was so quiet, all the family members were still sleeping except her. She walked to the kitchen to clean it. She cleaned the kitchen as fast as she could. She didn't want to see her father before she finished cleaning the kitchen. She made a chocolate sandwich for her breakfast after she cleaned the kitchen. She put the sandwiches in a plastic box. There was no time for breakfast, she was avoiding her father. She went to her room to prepare to go to campus. Actually, she didn't have any lectures that morning. Her schedule would start at eleven, but campus was the only place in her mind at that time. She thought that campus would be the perfect place to escape. Crystal took her bike and rode it to the university slowly. She wanted to waste as much time as she could, even though she rode her bike slowly, it was still morning when she arrived at the campus. She saw some cleaning staff getting out of the campus's building after they cleaned. She looked around after parking her bike, so quiet. "Hmm..." She took a deep breath while walking to a bench in the park. She sat on a bench and closed her eyes, enjoying the fresh morning air on the campus. She took a deep breath again while smiling. She felt very relieved. She didn't know there a pair of eyes were watching her. The owner of the eyes was wonderstruck by her. He had never seen her before. It was the first time he had seen Crystal. He was curious who the holy girl was sitting in the park. But... "Christ!" A man's voice broke his focus on the young woman in a baby pink blouse. He turned his head to the man who called him. Crystal also turned her head to see the voice's owner because she thought that someone had called her. But a man wearing a blue t-shirt didn't call her. He had called his friend, Christian. He was walking toward Christian through the hallway. Christian looked at the guy who called him for a while and then his eyes went back to a bench in the park to see a young woman with a ponytail who had taken his attention. At that time, Crystal was also staring at Christian. They were staring at each other!! Their blood was getting warmer because their hearts were beating faster. Christian looked at Crystal until there was no access for his eyes to see her anymore. He and his friend turned right to go to their class. They were having class that morning. Crystal took a deep breath and threw her eyes on her shoes and her heart was beating fast. It was the third time she had seen him and she realized that she was interested in him. Her heart always beat so fast when she saw him. "Huff..." She exhaled, she didn't know if she should be happy or sad because of her feelings. Finally, her heart gave a super reaction to the man, but she needed to focus on her studies. She wasn't confident that she would handle both well at the same time. She shifted her butt to get her back straight, she found an idea to avoid seeing him. She thought if she avoided him, the plant of love for him wouldn't grow. She knew that probably the seed of love for him was sprouting in her heart. She thought that stopping nutrition for the seed of love would stop it sprouting in her heart. She would keep her distance so far away from his faculty and she only went to university to study. She didn't need anything else except study, she would not be a member of an organization or a group or any activity outside of study. She also thought that maybe their lecture time schedule was different, so she thought that it was perfect. She was nodding her head, thinking that would be helpful. She was optimistic that her plan would be successful. She didn't remember the reason why she escaped from her house and went to her campus. Crystal took her phone to check the time. It was nine past nine. "Huff..." She exhaled. She needed almost two hours until her lecture time. She didn't have any plan, she only wanted to escape from her father. She opened her bag. Her hungry stomach reminded her of the chocolate sandwich which she had packed that morning. She opened the plastic box and grabbed a sandwich. She didn't realize Christian's eyes were looking at her from the second floor on her right side. He was looking at her through the window of his class. He didn't focus on the lecturer. His eyes didn't want to stop looking at her. He wanted to know about her. It was the first time for him that he wanted to know about a girl. The girls always wanted to know him first and they had always taken the first action in having a relationship with him. Crystal ate all of her sandwiches and put the empty plastic box back in her bag. She took her phone and texted Daniela and Nellie to ask when they were going to their campus. She felt lonely and she hoped that her friends would come to campus earlier and they texted her that they would come to campus as fast they could. "Crystal, right?" A young woman's voice mentioned her name. Crystal turned her head to the right and she saw the voice's owner was one of her classmates, she was Grace. "Hi, Grace!" Crystal was delighted because Grace broke her loneliness. "Can I sit in here?" Grace asked Crystal while pointing at Crystal's right side. "Of course!" Crystal shifted her butt to the left to give Grace space. "Are you waiting for your baby?" Grace asked Crystal while sitting beside her. "No, I'm not. I just have nothing to do, so I go to campus." Crystal shook her head while looking straight, she wanted to avoid the gaze of her new friend. She didn't want her new friend to know the true reason why she was on campus at that time. She couldn't tell anyone that she was avoiding her father because he wanted her to marry a guy. How ridiculous? "So, you're waiting for your baby?" Crystal asked Grace while smiling at her. She wanted to shift the spotlight to Grace. "Yup, he's having a class right now and we'll meet after his class." Grace said to her while smiling. She was feeling happy because she would meet her boyfriend. Crystal also smiled after hearing her reason. She thought how lucky her friend was. She was sure that Grace was one of many rich girls at the university. She was sure Grace was not one of the scholarship grantees. Grace's bag and Grace's clothes were told. Grace's confidence notified where she grew up. Christian opened his eyes wider when he recognized the girl who was talking with the ponytailed girl in the park. He noticed she was Grace, his friend's girlfriend. He was so excited waiting for the class to end. He knew his friend, Henry, would meet his girlfriend. He thought that it would be a nice chance for him to get to know her. He was impassionate to wait for the end of the class. He glanced at Herny on his right side. He wanted to tell his best friend about what was on his mind. Henry noticed that his friend was glancing at him. He turned his head to face Christian and raised his eyebrows as a sign to him he wanted to know what was going on. Christian wanted to tell him, but he held it and shook his head. Henry made wrinkles between his eyebrows, he felt weird about his friend's act.
