Melian (The last lykra)

CHAPTER FOUR: The encounter

       There he stood, a black gem elf staring right at the fence in fact he was staring right at her!! He narrowed his eyes on her.

  “A lykra" his deep voice sent a chill down Melian spine and she couldn't guarantee if it was out of fear or something else.

 “A black gem elf" she said back in a monotone voice.

  “Your body oozes power but you are weak" she was taken aback by what he said, she stared at him in confusion.

  “It's not safe out here for your kind to be out here, hurry on back unless I'll do something we'll both regret" she smirked at him

  “If you wanted to hurt me, you would have done that minutes ago" he chuckled before his aura turned dark

 “Don't take my leniency for mercy, hurry on back while I'm being nice" he growled and she gulped, fear was starting to creeps his way into her soul

  “Your parents are coming" she stared at him with wide eyes before turning to the fence

  “Wait how did you...." she turned around to ask but He had disappeared, she quickly took the ball and jumped over the fence, just then her father and mother arrived, as soon as her friends saw she was okay they all breathed out a breath of relief, iston quickly took his ball, turned around, bowed at her parents and ran away with the rest following behind him. As soon as they were gone her father walked towards her

  “Why did you jump over the fence?" She froze before looking at her father's serious gaze

  “I...I..." She stuttered before she bowed her head

   “Not another word from you, don't you know it forbidden to leave aneathra especially for your kind huh?, How can you be so irresponsible!!" Davan's voice thundered, Andria ran to him to calm him down

  “I'm sorry father.. I... I mistakenly threw Iston's boy out, I had to get it back" she was on the verge of tears, she hated it when her father yelled at her, Davan sighed

   “Go to your room we'll talk about this later" he said firmly, she stiffly nodded and walked away, as soon as she was out of their sight Andria turned to Davan

  “Don't you think you were being too harsh on her?" She sighed 

   “We have sheltered her for so long that she forgot how to differentiate right from wrong" Davan held his forehead 

  “What I want to understand is how she was able to jump down in the first place" he turned to Andria at her words, they really needed to figure out Melian's power soon.

      Melian ran to her room and locked the door. She wanted to gather her thoughts, from the black gem elf to her parents. Her head was booming, and suddenly a knock came at her door.

  “Who is it?, Mother if that's you, can we talk later I have an headache" she groaned

  “Then heal yourself dummy" her grandma Anna boomed from behind the door, Melian facepalmed herself, finally her healing power came in handy, she ran to the door and opened it to reveal Anna.

   “My little precious lykra, why do you have an headache?" She pinched Melian's jaw, making Melian groan.

   “Grandma I'm not little anymore and that hurts" Anna smiled before walking into the room, Melian sighed before sitting next to her.

   “I'm sure my father has already informed you on what happened" Anna chuckled.

   “Your father didn't need to inform me, I got the alert" Melian looked at her in confusion, what alert? She wondered

   “If one of our own goes beyond this walls, our gems glow" Melian's eyes widened in realization.

   “But wait, how did you guys know it was me?, And does this mean the whole town knows?" Anna patted her head .

  “Because you are the only rebellious elfling town and yes they all know" Melian groaned.

   “I didn't mean to jump, it was because of Iston's ball that I..."

  “Don't lie to grandma now, you know what is right and wrong and if you didn't want to jump no one would have forced you to jump so you did it because you wanted to not because of a ball" Melian opened her mouth but nothing came out, she knew her grandmother was right she wanted to satisfy her curiosity and that's exactly why she jumped. They were both silent for a while before Anna broke it

   “What did you see?" Melian hesitated, she didn't know if her grandmother would be angry or not but she wanted to tell someone and her grandmother was the safest option.

   “I saw a black gem elf, he stood there staring at the fence like he knew I was going to jump, what does that mean grandma?" She stared at her Grandma's thinking face.

   “By what I've heard black gem elf are able to sense the presence of others because of the dark magic they have" Melian's eyes widened with understanding, so that was how he was able to sense that her parents were coming. 

   “Grandma can't you tell me all you know about black gem elves and lykras?" Anna groaned, she didn't want to be the one to explain this to Melian, she cussed Davan in her head, he should have explained all these things to her when she was little.

  “Oh come on Grandma just tell me, maybe if I understood more I won't be so curious anymore" she pouted, Anna looked at her and sighed.

   “Okay I'll tell you but listen carefully" Melian nodded vigorously.

   “Long time ago as you know we all lived together as one, the black gem elves and the lykras but then some gem elves became power hungry and wanted the powers of the lykras because they were the most powerful of us all, thus began the hunt for lykras. They killed many little lykras and enslaved some. One day the lykras gathered at the Elvian tree and said enough is enough, they killed themselves that day and the Elvian goddess cursed those particular gem elves and banished them from aneathra'' Melian nodded at what Anna had told her but something didn't feel right.

  “But why can't they enter aneathra, I mean that fence can be jumped by anyone" Anna shrugged.

   “I have no idea" Anna stood up 

  “Well that's enough for today, sleep now my dear, we'll talk tomorrow" Melian nodded then got into bed and closed her eyes, as soon as she heard the door close she opened her eyes, she had to figure out the truth of this matter and the I only way she can do that is hear both sides of the story, she had to meet that black gem elf again.
