CHAPTER TEN Sadie sat opposite McAllister in the interrogation room, watching him sip on a mug of coffee. He was wrapped in a blanket they had found in reception, left by the state trooper who had been on the night shift. Now that he was warm, and the shock of the crash was wearing off, McAllister was displaying some of the arrogance that Sadie would have expected from a CEO and close friend of the mayor. “Before we ask our questions, I have to advise you that you might want to call your lawyer,” the sheriff said, sounding more formal than Sadie had come to expect from him.
