College begins

It's been a few weeks since your date with Zack and the college talk that happened on that date, You're finally arriving at college. You arrive on campus ready to find out where your dorm is, you and Zack stand outside of the college building discussing your housing situation.

"Are you going to a sorority?" Zack asks.

"Hell no, I want a normal dorm room." You laugh.

"I figured, come on let's head to reception." Zack takes your hand and you begin walking.

You head into the reception, the lady at reception is a little snooty, she throws the keys on the counter and you collect your keys, as you turn to leave you see Nate and Taylor, together, Nate barely looks at you, he gives Zack a nod but acts like you don't exist.

"What about you? Where do you want to go?" You ask Zack.

"I'm rushing Beta." Zack smiles. Of course, he is because all the football boys are.

"I hope you get in." You give Zack a reassuring smile and a quick peck on the lips.

Zack takes your hand and walks you to your dorm room, you walk down a long corridor, filled with other excited college students, and you arrive at your dorm. You enter to see two people already there.

"Hey, you must be my roommate, I'm Ella, this is my boyfriend, Kain." The girl smiles at you.

The girl is dressed similarly to you, she's wearing combat boots, with a long black dress to her knees and has a small nose ring, she beams at you, seeming friendly.

"Hey." You reply politely.

"That your boyfriend?" She nods in the direction of Zack.

"Yeah, this is Zack." You point at him.

"Nice to meet you, Zack." Ella smiles at him.

"You too." Zack smiles giving them a small nod.

"Are you joining a frat? Kain's a Beta." Ella smiles.

"Yeah, I'm rushing Beta," Zack replied a little shocked.

"Football boy huh?" Ella smiles.

"Guilty." Zack laughs.

"Fresh meat Kain." Ella laughs tilting her head towards Zack.

"Yeah dude, find me at a rush and I'll see what I can do for you." Kain smiles at Zack.

"Sure man, Ella take good care of my girl I gotta run." Zack gives you a quick kiss on your cheek and rushes out of your room.

"You have my word," Ella shouts down the hallway after Zack.

"I gotta bounce too babe, I'll see you later." Kain pecks Ella on the cheek and follows Zack out of the dorm.

You sit on your bed facing Ella, she smiles at you. "So what's your major?" She's curious.

"Art and Literature." You smile, placing a bag on your bed.

"Sick, we will be buddies." Ella grins.

"Awesome." You reply while sorting your bag out.

Finally, a few hours later after unpacking, it's lunchtime. You head for lunch with Ella after getting settled into classes. You enter the cafeteria, grabbing the quickest lunch you can find you funnel to a table, not too secluded but decently far away from the jocks, Ella joins you at the table.

"Are you and Zack going to the carnival?" Ella asks.

"I didn't even know there was one." You look shocked.

"Yeah, it's a fundraiser, it isn't for a couple of weeks, but the cheer squad do a kissing booth, so you'll wanna watch your man." Ella laughs.

"I'll bear that in mind." You laugh back.

"He's stupid if he cheats, you're stunning." Ella grins at you.

"Same to you." You blush at Ella's compliment.

Kain joins you both at the table placing himself beside Ella. His tray clatters onto the table.

"New girl, babe." Kain grins at you both.

"Hey." You throw him a friendly smile.

"What you girls talking about?" He asks whilst holding his sandwich in his hand.

"The carnival." Ella beams at him.

"You should go, bring Zack it will be cool, the carnival is usually super fun." Kain smiles at you.

"Sure, I'll think about it." You return the smile at Kain.

As if on cue, Zack arrives, he slides himself into the chair next to you and places a soda in front of you and a sandwich.

"Hey, I grabbed you lunch." He smiles at you.

"Thanks." You smile back.

"Anytime." Zack laughs.

Ella and Kain's gaze fixated on the two of you, Kain nudges Ella.

"So how did you two meet?" Ella asks.

"He's my brother's best friend." You smile.

"Oh, spicy." Ella giggles. You spend the rest of lunch getting to know Ella.

Zack leaves to head for football, he kisses you on the cheek before he goes, and once lunch is over you head out to meet him. On your way to the football field to find Zack, you spot him talking to Taylor. What are they up to? You decide to approach them. You walk to Zacks's side.

"Hey." You remark casually.

"What do you want?" Taylor hisses.

"I came to get my boyfriend." You grab Zacks's hand.

"Oh." Taylor looks embarrassed.

"We should go, Zack, you're gonna be late." You tug him as if it will move him.

"Sure." Zack smiles.

Following your lead you walk together to the football field, this is a good time to bring up the conversation between Zack and Taylor.

"So what did Taylor want?" You ask casually.

"Just to talk." Zack avoids your eye contact.

"Mhmm." You reply, unsure of whether to believe him.

"I promise that's all it was." Zack can tell your uncertainty from your tone.

"Okay." You smile, part of you still skeptical.

You and Zack head over to the football field. You spot Madison skipping towards you.

"Hey, are you here to try for the cheer squad?" Madison asks enthusiastically.

"Oh, no I was just bringing Zack to practice." You smile at her.

"You should join." Madison beams at you.

"I don't know. Taylor will be joining." You reply unsure.

"Leave her to me, she gives you any trouble let me know." Madison smiled.

"Sure." You agree.

"Come on, cheer sisters." Madison grabs you to join the cheer squad, you try out, as you're leaving you spot Nate watching you.

"What's his problem." Madison frowns.

"No idea." You reply, concerned. Madison leads you away from Nate.

A week later, classes have been going well, the carnival arrives.

"Wake up! It's carnival time." Ella's practically jumping on your bed.

"What? How long was I napping for?" You laugh at Ella's excitement.

"It's 1pm, come on, we don't wanna miss it." Ella explains, tugging at you to move your butt.

"Crap, i promised Madison I'd do a shift at the kissing booth." You begin to panic.

"Let's go then." Ella practically drags you out of your dorm.

You meet up with Zack and Kain as you arrive on the quad that's filled with carnival booths.

"I'd love to stay and chat but I have a kissing booth shift to work." You dart off to the booth.

"I thought you flaked on me." Madison smiles at you looking relieved.

"Never, I overslept." You reassure her.

"I'm glad you're here." Madison hugs you.

You sit at the booth after an hour of kissing you switch with Taylor.

"I can't wait for Zack to get a ticket." She smirks at you.

"Don't you think Nate would be pissed." You question her.

"Oh, well" Taylor laughs.

You walk off to look for Ella, Zack appears from around the snack shack.

"We need to talk." He pulls you behind the snack shack.

"I'm just gonna say it. I love you." He smiles at you.

"I love you too." You grin back at him.

"Awesome, I was scared it was too soon." Zack grins at you again.

"No, it wasn't too early, are you swinging by the kissing booth?" You ask him curiously.

"Not unless you're on shift again, why?" Zack laughs.

"Taylor said you were." You smile.

"Nope." Zack looks at you a little confused.

You grab Zack's hand and head to meet Kain and Ella, they are stood beside one of the booths.

"Sup, losers." Ella laughs.

"Nothing much." You smile.

"Well I want to steal you for a movie night, what do you say?" Ella grins, hoping you agree.

"Sure." Ella squeals and grabs your hand.

"Can I invite Madison?" You ask.

"Sure." Ella smiles.

You run over to Madison. "Movie night, me you and Ella?" You don't really give her an opportunity to say no.

"Sure." The three of you head off to your dorm.

Madison plonks herself on the spare bed.

"We need to take a picture for mybook, come on." She pulls you and Ella in and tags you in it. 'Movie with my bestie.'

You settle down to watch a movie, a message pops up on mybook. 'didn't have you down as the popular girl.' T. This is the first message she sends me after nearly 3 months of silence. You write back 'I needed a friend.' Tara doesn't respond. You tuck your phone into your pocket and turn back to the movie.

"Taylor text me, Beta are having a party, do you wanna come?" Madison smiles.

"When?" You ask.

"This weekend." She replies.

"Sure." You wonder why Zack hasn't mentioned anything.

"Kain's just text me too, has Zack said anything to you?" Ella asks.

"No." You reply sadly.

"Maybe he was busy." Ella tries to reassure you.

"Maybe." You sigh.
