THE LAST DRAGON EGG

A brilliant flash from the heavens, then darkness covers the realm. As the golden embers fall from the sky a large figure moves among the shadows. Silently slinking from corner to corner avoiding detection. As he makes his way through the darkness, he is plagued by unsure thoughts. “They must not find out I escaped with this precious bundle.” He states. In the clutches of the shadow lies a secret that will change the future of all the realm. As the shadowy figure states “I don’t have any more time to protect this bundle” he limps through the dark streets searching for a safe place to set this bundle and finds a door step to leave there. He then crawls his way back on the ground steadily dying until he slowly disappears into the shadows leaving only the bundle behind and never returning. 12 years later. This bundle has grown up to be someone different, something different. The orphanage that she was left at has called her little yellow, due to her having long golden hair and golden eyes like no other human being had seen before. Little yellow has been bullied ever since she has gotten there, and had no other choice but to run away because the children wouldn’t stop. As she was running away, she was lost and didn’t know where she was. She realized that she was around trees, and continued to run. As she kept running, she tripped over a rock and landed face first. When she got up, she looked up and noticed weird symbols on this “rock”. She noticed the rock starting to glow different colors, and as she sees the different colors, she heads towards the rock and picks it up. As she picks up this mysterious thing, she feels different vibes going through her body. As she feels weird, she sets it down, and goes to clean up at a river, noticing a weird mark on her forehead in her reflection. As she goes back to the rock, and takes a better look at it, and as she looks at it closer, it starts shaking, and she says to herself “this is no rock, this is an egg”. As she notices it being an egg, she sets it on her lap waiting for something to come out of it. As the egg continues to shake, it starts to crack and her eyes widen bigger and bigger in surprise as she sees what comes out to be that of a dragon. As she sees the dragon hatch from the egg, she starts to realize that the stories were true that were told in the orphanage, and realizes that she also must protect this species due to it being the last of its kind. As she looks at the dragon, it starts to smile at her, so she smiles back and waves cautiously. The girl wonders if she was meant to find this dragon and says “Don’t worry little dragon, you’re not alone anymore. I promise to protect you and keep you safe, and I shall name you Valor. It’s a strong name, and as long as I am around, no one will ever hurt you”. As Little Yellow finishes speaking to the mighty little beast, Valor starts to talk. Her eyes widen and as she becomes surprised, she questions herself and asks “Am I dreaming?” Valor states “No little one, you’re not dreaming. Thank you little one for such a name. I will carry it well and not disappoint you, and for I shall name you Valerie, the last mighty Dragon Rider.” Valor goes on to tell Valerie the story about him as he says “I am an elemental dragon and the king of my kind, and it seems you are special for I don’t hatch for anyone. Our bond will grow stronger together than anyone previous from you.” “I will also be your protector, and keep you from any harm.” “When you touched my egg, part of my power was transferred over to you. As we work together to bring all of my kind back my power will grow stronger, so to shall yours grow to match mine.” So, Valerie picks up Valor and continues to walk further into the woods. She heads into the deepest part, where she found a clearing with a waterfall and a river beforehand, and notices a shadow like feature behind the waterfall. As she goes through the waterfall, she discovers a cabin with the same strange symbols that were on the egg, and on the walls surrounding the cabin of the cave. So, she went inside the cabin, looked around and noticed it was the perfect place to stay safe and hide. Valerie says “Little valor, this is the perfect hideout, and I promise that I will take care of you and we will be together forever”. As little Valor agrees with the little one and looks at the book on the ground with the same exact symbols found on the egg and the cave walls.             As the sun sets, the little Valerie and her dragon friend settled in and fell into a deep sleep knowing that they were there for each other for their own protection. But come to find out, it may all be a trap for the darkness to reach them and destroy them forever, as the book that was sought out by little valor starts to glow. What could this mean? Could it mean that they’re in danger? Could it mean that Little Yellow has to learn those symbols to discover her true power? We shall see as the sun rises the next day.!!!
