Thy Darkness Within

He tried to get up only to finally realize that he was tied up. He was first stunned, then began to panic, he tried using his new strengths to break his bondages but for some reason his skin began sizzling, just like it did when it came in contact with the sun.

The pain became unbearable and he soon began to scream out in pain. His screams drew the attention of someone who opened the door and rushed down the stairs, the figure was soon revealed stunning Jay “John” “hello Jay”.

NOW

“John thank god. Hurry untie me these ropes are burning me” Jay spoke but soon realized that John made no movement whatsoever to untie him. “John?” “I know Jay…” “what are you on about, untie me John” “I know what you are, I know what you did.”

John’s words stunned Jay, Jay tried to speak once more thinking maybe he was over thinking things, that maybe John was talking about something else entirely  “what do you mean John”. “You don’t remember last night do you” those words caused thousands of questions to rush through Jay’s head, ‘last night? What happened last night? Did he see me attacking those guys? Did I attack him? Oh god no…’ with the last thought he looked at John carefully searching his body for any marks temporarily forgetting the pain he was in.

“Are you?” “you didn’t harm me, fortunately.” “thank god!” “but you were out of control two guys almost killed you yesterday!” “look John I don’t know what’s going on with me okay, one minute I’m at a party the next I’m waking up in some warehouse with a dead body and then killing a homeless guy. I DON’T KNOW! OKAY! I DON’T KNOW WHAT THE F**K! IS GOING ON!” Jay began to freak out when he thought of how sudden all this was, he began to get angry as well his emotions were out of control.

John saw this happen before his eyes and felt sorry for his brother, his brother had no idea what was going on nor why this was happening to him. He at least knew where this all originated from and had an idea as to who might be the perpetrator but his brother was absolutely clueless. He opened his mouth to say something when the both heard a knock.

Normal people would not have heard the knock from where they were but, neither of the two were human. “I’ll be back”, John spoke three words and turned to leave seeing this Jay became anxious, “no. no John. Don’t do this. Don’t do this John! JOHN! DON’T DO THIS! JOHN!!!” Jay screamed at John but John steeled his heart and locked the basement door once more and moved to open the front door.

“Holly you decided to…Caleb” John opened the door expecting the person at the door to be Holly, but was stunned to see Caleb. “Hey…” “I need to talk to you”, with those words Caleb walked pass John and into the house. John looked at him confused as to what all this was about, closing the door he walked over to the living room where Caleb was pacing muttering to himself, “Caleb. Caleb” John called out to him but Caleb seemed to be in his own world, not hearing him call out to him.

John sighed then grabbed Caleb by the shoulders, “dude, what is wrong with you?” Caleb looked at him once more then began “ so… this lady came over to my place yeah,” “right” John spoke up to show he was following. “she said she was my mom’s friend, so naturally I called my mom over right,” “yeah?” “so my mom comes over sees this lady then tells me to go upstairs, but you know me I’m a curious guy so I decided to listen in. Then they start talking about some darkness, witches, wizards then all of sudden things start rising then they spoke again, then the lady vanished, she vanished like poof, like one moment she was there the next gone! I know it sounds insane but dude it happened I swear”.

John’s eyes opened wide but not in disbelief like Caleb thought, John knew vampires existed, he had one locked up in his basement for god’s sake. So it wasn’t so far fetched to him that witches existed but what he did not expect was that his friends mom was a witch.

At that moment he did not know what to say, he couldn’t exactly say ‘yeah I believe you, because my brother is a vampire and he is locked up in the basement and I might be a supernatural creature’. Yeah that would be fun, “dude say something.” Caleb’s words brought John out of his thought “I…I…” “you don’t believe me.” “No wait Caleb that’s not what it is”, “nah I get it” Caleb spoke once more as he stormed off. “wait Caleb, wait!” John called out to his friend but Caleb was gone.

John took another look at where Jay was locked up before making his mind, he then left the house.

In a certain room a table was set up with people all around, Lindsey was one of the people at the table. Each person at this table was a person of importance most of them descendants of the founding families of the town. From the time when the town was founded, this council had existed. The council was formed when a coven of witches had first appeared in town, unfortunately for the town the coven which had migrated to the town was a coven of dark witches who began to harm the town.

Their appearances of these witches prompted the founding families to create this council, the council was responsible for all supernatural threats.

“I presume we all know why this meeting was called to order. Our town has been invaded by blood suckers “ Mayor White spoke, gasps were heard from most of the members present “vampires, are we sure it is not just the witches playing tricks.” “I have officers wo have seen them and I have seen their victims and have a few dead officers, so believe me when I say there are vampires in town.” Lindsey’s words served as assurance .

After seeing everyone had finally accepted reality, the mayor continued “this meeting has been called for one reason only… to kill these creatures.”
