Thy Darkness Within

EPISODE 11

PREVIOUSLY ON THY DARKNESS WITHIN

Hearing her words, Roselynn could detect the threat hidden between and suddenly Katherine held her head as she received a migraine. “ DON’T. YOU. DARE. THINK. OF. HARMING. MY. SON!” with each word spoken the objects around Roselynn began to rise in the air. Katherine rose her hands in surrender “calm down, we all know you are powerful but do not forget I am still the leader.” With a snap of her fingers all objects returned to their initial positions.

Roselynn was stunned but before she could react Katherine had appeared before her and she was immobile, the smile which seemed to be ever present on Katherine’s face disappeared “I might favor you Roselynn, but do not, for a second take my leniency for weakness… are we clear?” with her question she looked deep into Roselynn’s eyes. “Good” her smile returned and Roselynn regained control of her body, “I’ll see you later today, and oh please don’t let me come looking for you again after all I have no idea what I might do…bye-bye” she then vanished leaving a scared Roselynn behind.

John sighed then grabbed Caleb by the shoulders, “dude, what is wrong with you?” Caleb looked at him once more then began “ so… this lady came over to my place yeah,” “right” John spoke up to show he was following. “she said she was my mom’s friend, so naturally I called my mom over right,” “yeah?” “so my mom comes over sees this lady then tells me to go upstairs, but you know me I’m a curious guy so I decided to listen in. Then they start talking about some darkness, witches, wizards then all of sudden things start rising then they spoke again, then the lady vanished, she vanished like poof, like one moment she was there the next gone! I know it sounds insane but dude it happened I swear”.

….

“dude say something.” Caleb’s words brought John out of his thought “I…I…” “you don’t believe me.” “No wait Caleb that’s not what it is”, “nah I get it” Caleb spoke once more as he stormed off. “wait Caleb, wait!” John called out to his friend but Caleb was gone.

NOW

Caleb had arrived back home a bit angry that John didn’t believe but deep down he understood, if he came to tell him the same thing he wouldn’t believe it either.

Just as he was about to step in he came face to face with his mom, “mom…” she was all dressed up different from the casual clothes he last saw her in, in the morning. “hey Caleb, good your back I need to go somewhere so I need you to stay home and watch over the house okay, love you sweetie.” She spoke to him when she saw and was about to leave when Caleb couldn’t resist and asked “where you going mom?” “hm, well I’m off to see a friend of mine I’ll be back late but there is food in the microwave so when your hungry just heat it up okay, I got to go.”

Caleb watched as she got into her car and drove off. When she was gone Caleb entered the house and began to think to himself ‘if she really was hiding things from him where could she hide it’ he thought for a few seconds before running up the stairs.

Caleb arrived before the door to the attic. In the entire house this was the one place he was not allowed to enter, for as long as he could remember the door had always been locked. He reached out for the handle and shook it but it wouldn’t budge, he came annoyed and even tried to kick the door all to no avail.

In his frustration he even managed to cut himself which caused him to yelp, he placed his thumb in his mouth trying to alleviate the pain when he saw something strange. A drop of blood had fallen on the door handle and caused a strange reaction, certain strange marks began to form on the door suddenly there was a click and the door was open.

“Okay… that’s not freaky at all”, Caleb muttered to himself. After a short internal struggle, Caleb entered the attic, immediately he did so the candles in the attic lit up on their own lighting up the place. Caleb stood still with his eyes looking around taking in everything.

Caleb moved around to have a closer look at everything. There were all sorts of herbs as well as some weird minerals, some had labels underneath but Caleb could swear he hadn’t heard of half these names before. Caleb decided to ignore these things and moved to the center were a book was surrounded by four white candles.

The book was the first to catch his attention. He moved to the book and opened it and read the first page which contained a weird poem;

one for sorrow,

two for mirth,

three for wedding,

four for birth,

five for silver,

six for gold,

seven for a secret never to be told,

As he finished reading a strong wind came from no where and flipped the book to another page recording spells and at this point Caleb could guess what this book was, this book was a grimoire.

John took a breath the knocked on a door. John had followed Holly’s scent to find where she lived and had now come looking for her, Holly opened the door and was stunned to see John. “what are you…how did you find me?” “I followed your scent” “you do know how creepy that sounds right”, “I need to talk to you, can I come in.” Holly looked at him but did not respond, she just moved out of the way.

John took that as a yes and steeped in, Holly stared at him as he did so before speaking up “okay your in, what do you want? Are you here to question me again huh or now what huh you’re going to say…” “I’m sorry”, holly was stunned as she was truly not expecting an apology. “what?” “I’m sorry, with all that’s been happening I became stressed out and I took it out on you I’m sorry. I want you to know I am truly grateful for all you have done for me and my brother.”

When he finished he turned to leave, just as he was about to leave Holly called out. “wait! You’re not here to ask me to help you search for your brother?” “no why would I do that?” because a body was found recently and another person is missing.” “that’s impossible Jay is locked in the basement and correct me if I’m wrong but vampires can’t walk in the sun and there is still at least three hours to go before the sun sets.”

“but if it wasn’t Jay then…” “then there is definitely something else going on.”

In the cave in the woods.

“I see you have decided to join us Roselynn.” Katherine wore her signature smile when she saw Roselynn appear in her cloak. “you are right on time” she then turned to Josephine, “invite our lord.” With her words Josephine brought the person they had kidnapped, Roselynn was confused as she had not witnessed the first time the darkness was summoned but her confusion soon turned to shock.

Josephine slit the guys throat ignoring his pleas, suddenly a thick black fog rushed out the c***k and engulfed the victim. “he walks amongst us, isn’t it lovely” Katherine turned to Roselynn as she spoke the  last phrase.
