Thy Darkness Within

Episode 18

The boys locked eyes with the beast gulping down their saliva, the stare down lasted for about a minute then the beast began to move, their heart collectively skipped a beat when they saw this, they all began shouting, “Chad go! Go! Now!” Chad didn’t need to be told twice as he sped away with the beast barely missing then before proceeding to chase after them.

Meanwhile at the station the Sheriff had received the call from the operators and knew whatever was going on it was definitely supernatural. She ordered her men to get their guns and be ready but just as she was about to leave, she took a glance at her phone and hesitated but eventually picked up her phone and dialed a number, “it’s me… we have a problem.”

*skrrt* Holly’s car made a sharp turn on to a street, “can’t you go any faster” Jay asked completely anxious about his brother, “I’m going as fast as I can, okay” “argh, do you have any idea where he is?” Jay asked he was thinking maybe if he had a location, he could speed there himself. “I don’t know where he is but I do know where he might be….” “well go on, I can’t read minds, now can I?” Jay had an annoyed look on his face seeing that Holly had just stopped there.

“Okay listen the whole of today he was in a mood right but he was mostly by himself, but now we know that his mood was influenced by the full moon so when he transformed, I’m pretty sure he is acting solely based on his instincts and emotions, we already know how Mr. Child is… was so his anger towards him caused what we saw at the school.” Holly explained causing Jay to nod in understanding.

“Okay, I get it now so his animal side is going after whoever pissed him off right?” Jay asked to clarify, “yeah exactly “, “so who else pissed him off today?” Jay asked. Holly remained silent for a moment before speaking up “Chad”. Jay turned to have a good look at her, “why am I not surprised?” but before they could continue their conversation it was interrupted by a police broadcast about an accident and a supposed beast attack, they instinctively knew that was John.

Chad was trying his best to keep walking, the beast had hit his car sending them into a tree, one of them died on the spot but the others were still alive and Chad was hoping they stalled the beast long enough for help to arrive, one might claim he was cold hearted for abandoning his friends but it was better for him to live than all of them to die.

He kept stumbling but then he heard growls and all went silent, Chad came to a standstill he leaned against the tree closest to him as he began to look around everything was silent and with the minimal lighting from the moon was no help whatsoever. He began taking shallow breaths he couldn’t hear nor see anything and that didn’t calm him down a bit considering that there was a monster hunting him down. Taking a look at his leg which was still bleeding and had a metal through it, Chad felt the hopelessness and despair come over him as he began to shed tears but clinging onto his last hope he began to limp away as the beastly growls seem to appear from all around him, he couldn’t hold it any longer, “someone help me please! Please! I’m begging you, someone help me” Chad shouted full on bawling, he felt as though he drew closer to his death with every breadth that he took.

The only thing he heard though were the growls of the beast, the growls sounded around him as though mocking him. With his tear-stained face, he attempted to make another run for it but just as he rose his feet, the beast jumped out and ripped his leg that was injured causing him to fall to the eat a mouthful of dirt.

He turned around with his back to the ground finally having a clearer look at the beast that had been hunting him, the beast leaned closer with what seemed to be a smirk etched unto his face scaring the hell out of him. “Help! Someone please! Please, I don’t want to die” Chad out one last plea but from out of nowhere a blur came sending the beast flying.

Chad turned to his savior filled with hope but when he saw the face of his savior his newly found hope was crushed and replaced with spine chilling fear. His savior’s skin had begun so pale with veins stretching down from his eyes down his neck, with his blood red eyes and fangs he resembled a demon straight out of hell.

Chad fainted after taking in the appearance of the demon before him, “well that’s that” Jay took one look at Chad then turned his attention back to John who was now back on his feet. Jay finally took a good look at his brother who was neither wolf nor man with his golden eyes that seemed to see through one’s soul, “okay you had your fun, time to leave come on boy” John didn’t sound all that pleased as he whipped his head back letting out a beastly howl.

A few minutes earlier

Holly had arrived picking up her shot g*n she begun to load the shells when she heard cars pulling up, looking at her rearview mirror she saw the police arrive accompanied by some black vans the police were already out with their guns pointed at her car, “f**k” Holly cursed and dropped her shotgun and placed her handgun under her clothes as she got down with her arms raised.

The guns were now aimed at her, “don’t shoot!” Lindsey got out and stopped the men for aiming at Holly, she looked up at Holly but just as she was about to begin her questioning. A howl stopped everyone.
