Resisting The Alpha Wolf

Chapter 3

Oh f**k Oh f**k Oh f**k! What the hell did he just say! Pushing myself up off the floor it took everything in me not to bolt.

"Um, what did you just say? Sorry, I think you are mistaken. I need you to take your wolf ass and back the hell up!" Moving away from him, I put the couch between me and him as he continued forward.

"Mate." His eyes flashed yellow, indicating his wolf was close to the surface. Backing up, I didn't realize how close I was to the stairs until the back of my legs hit the steps. Sprawling into a heap at the bottom steps, I could only watch as he got closer. As he got close I smelled the most delicious scent. He smelled like vanilla, cinnamon, and chocolate, and at that moment, I knew without a doubt what he had said was true. Crouching down in front of me not moving as if he was waiting for me to realize what he said was true. Not only was my mate in front of me but he was a wolf shifter. I was so so screwed.

I don't know how long we sat there staring at each other but it felt like an eternity when Alec's voice broke the silence.

"Anna, this is my brother and Alpha Liam. I thought bringing him might help when it came to trying to convince the other shifters. Liam, this is Anna, remember why we are here please, and don't scare her too much. We need her to like us." Alec's voice although soft and calm seemed to break the trance, we both seemed to be caught in. Pushing myself up, I turned away from Liam, trying to avoid looking at him again and getting lost in his eyes as I had moments ago.

"If one of you could move the love seat please," I said, trying my best to turn my attention to something else anything else as I walked away from Liam trying to put some distance between us.

"Anna," Liam's voice came from behind me as he followed me through the arched doorway into my open kitchen.

"Look, Liam right? I'm not looking for a mate nor do I want one. I'm a fox shifter and you're a wolf, so let's make this easy on both of us. Reject the mate bond and go find some wolf b***h to be your mate cause I'm not interested." as I finished my rant, I turned around to face him only to come face to face with his chest. Liam stood over a foot taller than my 5'4” frame, forcing me to look up to glare at him not willing to be the one who backed down.

"Here's the thing, Anna, I'm not willing to give up this mating bond, you are my mate for some that's not important but for me it is. I don't care that you are a fox, I could give two shits in all. Honesty Jace's mate Kate is a Serval. It took him a while to convince her to accept the mate bond, but for me and nothing is more important than the bond between two true mates. So no, I will not be rejecting you or likewise accepting one from you. You, my little firecracker are my mate, and as soon as you accept that, I guarantee your little ass won't be leaving this house for a week." He growled, as he slipped his hands down around my waist and pulled me flush up against his body bringing my attention to his hard erection pressing against my stomach.

It took everything in me not to moan at the feel of him against me, but dammit I had s**t to do and at the top of the list was convincing him to go find himself another mate. Unfortunately for me, my body had other things in mind as I grabbed his shirt intending to push him away from me. My body betrayed me instead of pulling him closer, wanting to feel more my hands slipped under his shirt.

Liam let out a growl and his own hands moved to copy me when the doorbell rang bringing me back into the real world. Shoving myself away from Liam now desperate to put distance between me and the tempting sexy as sin wolf.

Surprisingly, the next couple of hours went by fast as the pizza and all the shifters arrived. Alec argued his case the best he could. While most voted that they were fine with letting him run on the 100 acres and weren't shy about saying so. Others argued that by allowing two other shifters to attend this meeting, they felt that they were being threatened and had no choice in the matter. This resulted in several shifters leaving claiming that they would never run on my family's land again as long as we let wolves and bears run on the land. Once things calmed down, Jace and Liam explained who they were. How they were local alphas and as such in exchange for letting Alec run on the land it would be under their protection along with all the shifters who resided either on the land or near it.

Not surprisingly it didn't take long after that for the vote to be passed among those gathered to let not only Alec but Liam and Jace run the 100 acres too. Not surprisingly after the vote was passed, not many people left immediately after as they stayed to visit, eat, and drink with their new neighbor and his friends. By the time the last small shifter left, it was well after 1 A.M. leaving me alone with Alec, Jace, and Liam.

"Anna, why don't you let us clean up and you go up to bed? You look like your dead on your feet," Jace said as he came back into the living room after seeing the last person out.

"I feel like the dead," I replied from where I was curled up on the loveseat, my head on Liam's shoulder, "You guys don't to" I tried to say around my yawn.

"Sorry cutie, but we don't speak gibberish and we're not taking no for an answer you're going to bed." Liam laughed as he moved out from under me causing me to growl, as he picked me up curling me against his chest. Closing my eyes I didn't even care at that moment as he carried me up the stairs toward my room.

"Which room is your, firecracker?" he murmured as he pressed a kiss to my temple.

"meh" pointing in the direction of my room not even bothering to open my eyes as he opened the door and set me on my bed. After taking my socks and shoes off, he moved to the button on my pants. I let out a growl shoving his hands away as I rolled away from him my eyes still closed.

"Anna, you can't sleep in your pants. I'm not going to try anything, I'm just going to take those off and then cover you up I promise." Looking behind me at him I knew he was telling the truth. Rolling onto my back I helped him unbutton and remove my pants, only daring to look at him once they were removed. Looking up at him his eyes had gone yellow his wolf close to the surface, but instead of fear I was curious. Sitting up in the bed I touched the side of his face, bringing his gaze up to meet mine for the first time. I took a moment to actually look at the man in front of me.

Liam looked a lot like Alec, except where Alec had more of a boyish round face Liam wasn't. Dark stubble covered his jaw, making his eyes seem bigger and more intense. His hair was longer than Alec’s was, although not by much his hair was also lighter and looked softer. Running my fingers up along his face and into his hair.

"Anna, if you continue doing what you're doing, you won't be sleeping tonight. It's taking every bit of my self-control not to tear the rest of your clothes off of you and make you mine regardless of whether you would be pissed about it tomorrow or not." Liam growled softly as he pulled away from me and moved towards the door his eyes didn't stray from mine.

"Don't make me wait too long Anna, I don't know how much control I'll have next time you touch me so carelessly." with those words Liam slipped out the door leaving me confused and with more questions than I cared to have answered.
