13. If I Say Yes

Avani's POV:

I feel hesitant to receive the call but Dixxi told me to receive it.

"I will receive it but first you have to shut your mouth", I said Dixxi in a warning tone and Dixxi nodded.

"Hello", I tried to speak normally after receiving the call.

"Why you cut the call suddenly?", Josh said and I remember I really cut the call before giving him a chance to speak.

"I'm sorry. The call was unexpected, so I don't find what to tell. Besides, I thought you might not be liked as I call you suddenly. But believe me, it's from my friend Dixxi. She always does stupid things", I said in a sad tone.

"Who said I didn't like when I got a call from your number?", Josh asked me which make me surprised.

Dixxi also heard it, but she wasn't surprised rather she gives me a wink.

"I assumed", I replied slowly.

"Yeah, that's normal. What else can you think after an encounter with me?", Josh said and I feel sadness his voice.

"No not likes that. Honestly I myself feel weird suddenly give a phone call such a big person like you", I said.

"That's you think about me. Don't you know.......", he stopped when he must be heard Dixxi's whispering talk with me.

"Is anyone else with you right now?", Josh asked, and I heard his smiling sound.

"Yeah my friend, Dixxi. She wants to hear our conversation", I said, looking at Dixxi and the next moment Dixxi snatch away the phone from me.

"Dixxi what kind of behavior is that?",I said Dixxi being angry. But Dixxi didn't care rather she started talking with Josh. I know she must be told something stupid again this time, so I'm going to take my phone back but Dixxi wasn't willing to give my phone back.

"Hi, Josh. It's Dixxi. Actually, I called you for asking something important? Can I ask you that?", Dixxi said, and she was smiling looking at me.

"Oh, you Dixxi. I want to thank you for making your friend text me and call me. Anyway ask me whatever you want?", Josh said and Dixxi show me a proud smile.

"That's my pleasure. And the thing I'm going to ask you, you must answer me honestly", Dixxi said.

I already forget what was on her mind to ask. And when I remember I started stopping her to ask that question, but she didn't pay any heed to me.

"Do you like Avani? I mean by anyhow you fall for her", Dixxi finally asked ignoring my protesting. I was feeling cry and kill Dixxi right at the moment.

Suddenly, I realize there was no answer from Josh and make my heartbeat fast in fear.

"What he must be thinking about me? He must be regarded as shameless", I thought.

Dixxi was confused finding silent from the other side. I give Dixxi an angry glare because she creates the whole situation.

"If I say yes", Josh finally replied making both of me and Dixxi shocked.

"Then it will be a confirmation for Avani because she thought it's impossible that you can fall for her", Dixxi said with a happy smile, but I was still angry on Dixxi.

"Really. Can you give her the phone please?", Josh said softly.

Dixxi give me the phone, and I was ashamed to talk with him again but I decided to talk with him and told him everything is a lie which Dixxi told.

"Believe me, Josh, everything Dixxi said is a lie. She loves to make fun, and that's why she was saying that. Please don't believe what she said", I said in a frustrated tone before Josh can say anything. Surprisingly, I found Josh is silent after hearing me.

I looked at the screen if he cut the call or not but the call was ongoing. So, I again take the phone near my ear.

"It feels nice to hear my name from you", Josh said in a different tone, and I realize I call him by his name for the first time.

"Am I allowed to call him by his name? He must be told that so that I realize my mistake", I thought in my mind.

"I'm sorry again. I shouldn't be called you by your name", I am saying in an apology tone and cussing Dixxi in my mind because just for her, I'm facing this.

"Hey don't be sorry. It makes me happy to hear my name from you. You must be sad right now", Josh said.

"I'm not sad. I just thought it must not be appropriate calling you by name", I said to Josh.

"So what I'm saying to you that don't believe what Dixxi said", I again said to make sure he heard me first time when I said to him.

Josh said nothing but laugh.

"Alright, thanks for talking with me and being so good. Bye. Good Night", I said so that I can end the call otherwise it must be weird when I will find nothing to talk with him.

"Are you feeling sleepy?", Josh said in a curious tone.

"Yeah kinda. I have to wake up early every day, so I went to sleep early", I replied.

"Okay, then good night. Have a sweet dream", Josh said which make me smile.

"You too", I said and looked at the screen. I wanted Josh to cut the call, but he wasn't rather he remained silent. So, I cut the call.

After cutting the call, I looked at Dixxi who was busy with her phone sitting on another side of the bed.

"Dixxi you do you really feeling happy after insulting me?",I said, looking at her, and she looked at me and laugh.

Afterward, she came and sat beside me.

"Look at my eyes and said you aren't happy talking with Josh", Dixxi asked.

"I'm not happy with the thing that you asked him ridiculous thing and suddenly call him", I said.

"But he wasn't angry. Josh also seems happy, doesn't he?", Dixxi said which was right.

"But it doesn't mean what you did is right. You literally forced him to say he likes me", I said, being irritated.

"Avani I didn't force him. He tells that by himself. I was just......", I stopped Dixxi in the middle.

"Stop. Right now you have to promise me you won't do anything like this again if you did then I will never talk with you", I warned her, but she laughed as I said a joke.

"Dixxi I'm serious", I said in a strong tone this time.

"Okay, I understand. But you have also promise me something", Dixxi said stopping her laugh.

"What's that?",I asked.

"You don't hide anything about you and Josh", Dixxi said and I don't know what should I hide from her.

"Listen I'm saying so trust me there is nothing between us. Saying Hi; Hello; don't create anything", I said so that she understand this time.

"Whatever. It's just a beginning. Who knows what happened tomorrow. And I'm pretty sure, there's something going to happen between both of you", Dixxi said, and I started feeling by her continuous nonsense talk.

"Dixxi you stop your nonsense talk when you become tired. I'm going to sleep. Good Night", I said and lied down in bed.

Dixxi stopped when she found no response from me, and I feel somehow relieved. But my mind wasn't free from Dixxi's talk rather it was roaming in my mind.

"Is it even possible Josh like me and fall for me and something happened between us. Oh God, I'm thinking like Dixxi. It's just a daydream which is impossible to happen", I said in my mind and try to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up as usual at 7:30 and firstly I look for my phone which I never did before except yesterday and today.

I don't know why I was doing that maybe I'm excepting a message from Josh. And surprisingly there were two new messages from him.

"Good Morning. Hope you have a good sleep."

"Didn't you wake up yet. I think you woke up early as you said. Anyway have a good day", I read the message, and it was sent about one and a half hours ago.

I woke up in my everyday time and I didn't think Josh woke up so early. However, Josh sweet morning wishes make my morning even more beautiful.
