Milla Will POV I yearn to scream in his face, to let him know that I couldn't care less about my so-called ex-lover. But this is the new me, the one who has been betrayed. Before that, I was shamelessly grovelling at Shawn's feet, devoid of any self-respect. My life is far from perfect, and I can't afford to provoke Austin when he's already seething with anger. I only just managed to secure this opportunity today, so how can I risk further infuriating him? He won't miss a chance to mark me as his own and drag me away. I crave revenge; Shawn will pay for shattering my heart, destroying my trust, and leaving me broken. "I'm putting my trust in you, Kitten, but be careful not to cross the line. Remember, I know how to clip your claws," he threatened, his eyes brimming with anger. His threats are a clear indication that he still doesn't trust me. As if I trust him too. Even after spending two years with him in my previous life, it was all about s*x and torment. There was nothing that could make me trust him. However, I do have questions about how he abandoned me in the end. Those questions will forever linger in my mind. I want to believe that he had no knowledge of Shawn's role in my demise, but a part of me, recalling his words, refuses to accept that he was unaware of Shawn and Shayna's plan. "Alpha Austin, I need some rest. I hope that's alright with you. I have a slight headache from this exhausting day," I evaded his gaze and his words. Two years have taught me enough. The more I delve into his words, the more he will lose control. I retreated from Austin's intense gaze, desperately needing a moment to collect my thoughts. The weight of the day's events presses heavily on my mind, causing a throbbing ache in my temples. I can't let Austin see my vulnerability, my inner turmoil. His eyes narrowed, suspicion evident in his expression. "Rest, but don't think for a second that I'm oblivious to your games, Milla," he warned, his voice laced with a mix of anger and concern. I swallow hard, my heart pounding in my chest. How did I end up entangled in this web of deceit and danger? It feels like a never-ending nightmare, with no escape in sight. But I can't let Austin see my fear. I must remain strong, even if it's just a facade. As I turn to leave, his hand shoots out, gripping my arm firmly. The touch sends a jolt of electricity through me, igniting a strange mix of emotions. Fear, desire, and a hint of longing intertwine within me, creating a tumultuous storm. "Remember, Milla, you belong to me now. I won't let anyone harm you," he murmurs, his voice softer, almost tender. But I know better than to trust his words completely. There's a darkness lurking beneath his protective facade, a darkness that both frightens and intrigues me. I nodded, unable to find my voice. The weight of his possessiveness hangs heavy in the air, suffocating me. I pulled away from his grasp, retreating to the solitude of my room. Alone, I can finally let my guard down, allowing the tears to flow freely. Shawn's betrayal still stings, a wound that refuses to heal. The memories of his sweet promises and whispered declarations of love haunt me, mocking the innocence I once possessed. How could I have been so blind? But now, as I embark on this treacherous path with Austin, I vow to uncover the truth. I will not be a pawn in their twisted game any longer. Revenge will be mine, and justice will prevail. With renewed determination, I wipe away my tears and steel myself for the battles that lie ahead. The road may be treacherous, but I refuse to let fear consume me. I will rise from the ashes, stronger and more resilient than ever before. "Milla, what are you doing outside the room? That is your own room girl",
