Abby DelaneyAbby didn’t know what to do. Louise had turned up at the bookstore in her pajamas. It was only when Abby had pointed it out that Louise realized what she’d done.
Abby knew that things were going to change, but she didn’t think it would change so quickly. It hurt to see Louise so disoriented and confused.
“Louise?” Abby knocked on the back-office door. “Is everything okay? Can I get you anything?”
“Just leave me alone first, Abby, please.” Louise had locked herself in the office and refused to come out.
“I just—I’m just worried about you.”
“There’s nothing to worry about, darling,” Louise said.
