Chapter 27
Kate MorganKate, Louise, and Sarah walked arm in arm to Dockside Café with little Spiderman trailing along behind them. Well, not quite arm in arm. Louise was still had her cast on and needed the crutches to get around. They got a few weird stares—mostly surprise and wonder—but all in all, people smiled approvingly at the three women.
It seemed to Kate that all the stars had aligned because when they got to the café, all but one table was taken. And it just happened to be the sofas next to the fire. “Perfect,” she said as they all sat down to warm up.
Sarah put their orders for tea and club sandwiches to share before joining them. She spotted an afghan draped over the sofa and placed it over Louise’s leg. “Comfy?” she asked.
Louise nodded. “Yes, thank you.”
