Chapter 4 : Family Like Friends

When the girl hugged Noah, at first Noah looked at her before patting her head and smiling.
Noah (calmly): "Where’s the others?"
The girl looked up at him brightly and innocently before replying,
"The boys are on a mission. They must be here before 8," she clutched her hands.
Noah (stepping back): "You’ve grown a little..."
Jenna (comparing their height):
" Yup!!Come have my soup!" (smiles playfully, pulling him)
Noah froze, knowing how dangerous her cooking was.
Noah: "C-Can I eat it afterwards? I-I have a little cold..." (shuddering)
Jenna: "Come on! My soup is the cure of your cold!" 😤
She made him sit at the dining table and went to serve...
Jenna: "Oh! By the way, Felix has improved his powers... He can even move bigger things now!" (smiles)
Noah widened his eyes in shock.
Noah: "Whoa... That’s a great thing."
Jenna: "What about you? It’s been 2 years you had gone for training. Have you improved?"
Noah: "Hmm... I can easily re-enter someone’s dream now..
Jenna (excited): (She gave him a thumbs up and put the bowl of soup in front of him.)
Noah looked at the soup. It was dark purple with big pieces of garlic, carrot, and onion floating on top.
Noah (shuddering):
"D-Don't mind me... b-but why... is it purple?" (Looks up at her pleadingly.)
Jenna:
"That's beetroot! Of course it'll be purple!" (Puts her hands on her waist proudly.)
Noah scoffed before whispering to himself,
"This purple looks more like poison," then took a sip of the soup—drinking without expression.
Jenna:
"Is it good?" (Looks at him with confidence.)
Noah gave her a thumbs up, gulping the soup.
Suddenly, a loud sound came from another room, indicating the boys had arrived. Noah stood up and went outside.
There he saw four boys—two lying on the sofa, one reading a book, and one counting the things they brought from shopping.
haruki
, a boy with dark black hair, round eyes, and a smiley face, was the one counting. He noticed Noah first.
haruki:
"NOAH!!" (He yelled in shock.)
The boys on the sofa, Alex and Ren, stood up, and Kaito—who was reading—widened his eyes, the book slipping from his hands and falling to the ground.
Kaito quickly hugged him, saying energetically,
“Our leader is back, guys!”
Everyone yelled in sync,
“Welcome back!”
(their smiles and happiness evident on their faces).
Noah smiled back at all before glaring at Alex, a boy with blue-dyed hair, long highlights, a lip piercing, and a tiger tattoo on the back of his neck.
Before Alex could notice Noah’s gaze, Noah walked toward him and gave him a good, firm punch on the head.
Alex yelled,
“AH!”
and started rubbing his head, turning to Noah.
Alex:
“What kind of warm reunion is this?!”
Noah:
“And what kind of drawing is that?!”
(He pointed angrily at the picture.)
Alex looked at the picture, blinking his eyes in confusion and saying,
“What? Isn’t it so beautiful… everyone liked it!”
Noah clenched his fist, trying to control his temper.
Noah:
“You really know how to get on my nerves...”
Kaito got between them—a boy with a childlike face, youthful appearance, and feminine voice.
Kaito (nervously):
“Stop fighting… we should be happy.”
Kaito (trying to calm both of them):
“We are meeting after so much time...”
(He tried to calm both of them, but Alex and Noah glared at him.)
Kaito (stepping back, smiling nervously):
“Continue, please...”
(He smiled like nothing happened.)
Noah looked back at Alex and opened his mouth to speak, but a voice more mature and husky than before spoke:
Kael:
“Stop it.”
(It was the only word he spoke, and both quickly agreed, stepping back.)
Kael looked the oldest and more serious and self-restrained, with brownish long hair till his neck and cat eyes—sharp and observant. He wore glasses, which made him look even more serious and gave off a scary-type black aura.
Ren, a boy with long hair covering his eyes, stood next. His clothes were messy, making him look like an office worker who hadn’t stopped working for days.
Ren (smiling):
“Finally... after two years, it feels familiar again.” (laughs)
Everyone smiled at his comment.
