Chapter 5 : Eight different members, Eight different powers

Jenna came outside of the kitchen, smiling.
Jenna: (Giggling) "Guys, the reunion is over, can I serve my soup already?"
Everyone in the room froze...
Jenna: (Eyes on Noah) "You! You rest you had the soup already!" (She smiles.)
Everyone's gaze turned to Noah in shock and amazement.
After that, Jenna left to serve. Ren leaned in and spoke:
Ren: "How did you even manage?" (Amazed)
Noah smiled a little.
Noah: "Thanks to my cold, I couldn't even taste lemon yesterday 'cause my taste buds had gone numb."
(He pauses, then adds:)
Noah: "But I could still taste that soup... It was like—I can't even explain it. I can’t even tell how she managed to make that taste..."
(He remembered the taste in horror, which was so evident on his face.)
Others glared at him.
Alex: (Softly) "Bro... stop discouraging us like that..."
Ren chuckled a little.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, shifting everyone's attention.
Kaito: "I'll go up, guys." (Saying that, he ran upwards from the headquarters)
After some time, Kaito returned, followed by two men dressed in suits, looking like business professionals. One was in his 80s while other looked like he is in his 20s...
The older man was the one who had formed the group, and all the members respected him deeply. As soon as they entered, everyone in the group bowed to the old man.
Noah, being the leader, came forward first and said in his serious tone,
Noah: “It’s been a while, Manager.”
The old man smiled and replied “It’s good you have returned. I was actually going to inform you of something important. My son wanted me to introduce him to you all.”
Just then, Jenna stepped out of the kitchen, looking confused. She also bowed to the old man and stood beside Kaito.
The younger man behind the old man stepped forward with a bright smile and overflowing energy.
Young man: “Hey… I’m Tendo! I’ve heard that you all have magical powers. I’ve really wanted to see them for myself—or at least hear what each of your powers are!”
(He looked eager and full of hope.)
The group glanced at each other.
Noah hesitated,
Noah: “Um… sure then…”
(He looked at the others for permission. When everyone nodded softly, he began the introduction)
Noah:
“So I am Noah, and I basically have powers related to mind control—like I can enter into someone’s dreams, or I can even make them fall asleep with one gaze. I can even enter into others’ minds and read their thoughts.” (Explaining things...) Noah said.
The boy looked at him in amazement while he continued speaking.
Noah:
“And this is Kael” (points at Kael) “He has powers of wind—he can easily control wind and weather too.”
(Points at Alex)
“This person here controls painting. Umm... he can easily make pictures into reality and can also draw very fast.”
Alex gave a thumbs-up and smiled.
Noah:
“And that boy whose eyes are covered with his hair is Ren” (points) “He’s a fire controller.”
(Ren just nods softly.)
“And she is Jenna, who is the ice controller” (points at Jenna)
Jenna gives her energetic smile to Tendo.
“And that is Kaito” (points at Kaito, and Kaito smiles shyly)
“He can change into any person—basically he can copycat anyone!”
Tendo smiles, bowing at them... but something tickled in his head, and he asked smoothly:
Tendo:
“But I had heard there were 8 members, right?”
Hearing that, everyone's smile faded, and the old man beside him slapped Kaito’s head.
Old Man (firmly):
“Don’t ask that.”
Noah smiles softly.
Noah:
“It’s fine... It’s true. There are 8 members, but the other two are not available right now,” he said formally.
Kaito:
“Oh... so, where are they? And what’s their power?” (He questioned curiously.)
Noah quickly answered:
“One is Naomi—she is a water user. And another is Yui—she is nature user but controls animals too. We haven’t met much, but both are... away right now. We are not allowed to say where they are. It’s a secret for now.”
(Saying that, he looks at all, noticing their sad expressions.)
The old man noticed that something was wrong and quickly changed the topic.
Old Man:
“Umm... guys, how about missions? My older son told me you’ve solved millions of cases—some so complex they were considered unsolvable!”
Kaito got shocked, looking at them in amazement.
Kaito:
“Cool...!”
Old Man:
“Sorry to disturb you all. We will leave now. Actually, we have to go somewhere.”
Everyone in the group nodded, while Kaito pouted a little sadly.
Kaito:
“Fine... but I will come again!”
(Saying that, they left, and Noah escorted them out.)

After they left, all the members sat down on sofas and chairs...
When Noah came inside, he looked at the others' sad expressions and decided to lighten the mood. He got inside and slowly looked at the picture on the wall—where all the members were together 2 years back.
He smiled and said:
Noah:
“Guys? I forgot to say something!”
Ren replied,
Ren:
“Hmm...” (sadly)
Noah:
"Yui... Yui woke up from her coma last night, but—sigh—she can’t remember anything. I guess she is fine, and Naomi have told us to not go there and increase her problems..."
As soon as he said that, he turned his gaze away from the picture and turned to only get a glimpse of an empty room...
He chuckled, not amused at all…
“Murmuring to himself: I hope Naomi will be happy seeing all…”
